When Paladins were OP in WoW being a Tank/Healer felt absolutely amazing.

This is what I wanted from the Templar class.

Is it not the third option, but build as tank? An heavy armoured healing with tanking skills. Not a tank that can't move an inch to place in a better position the boss or move to taunt.

Tried to create a character as close to my WoW paladin as possible. Did a pretty good job. But I use medium armor now instead of heavy due to heavy not being very good for DPS.

Chose 4 just for the luls, in actuality I rolled a Templar first without much research because I figured (coming from wow and maining a prot pala) it was the best choice for someone who wanted a tank and healer on the same char, so I guess I was at least half right.

But not quite that. Actually more of a monk-type, with mostly light armor and a bit of medium, in order to be "dodgy".
First I even tried a bow, not really the best choice of course. But that's how you learn.

tbh, I actually made a breton templar shortly after I created my first character, a sorcerer, as a bit of a joke, because I hated both templars and bretons... But I fell in love with the class so much! I now have 3 (used to be 4, I am sorry you had to die Amelie)

I wanted to play a Paladin. But they have made heavy armor suck, nerfed blocking, nerfed healing, and now look like they might nerf shields.

I guess if you like DPS checks, PvP is great right now. If you like anything else, you're SOL.

Templar was the first class I got to 50 and I regret deleting her.

I was a dps/tank. How I ended up that route I have no clue but what I did with that templar doesn't match anything on your list. I dps'd with duel wield and the moment the tank went down or was on the verge of death it was sword and board to help the healer get the designated tank up and running or if the tank died, give us that much of a chance to down the boss/mobs and regroup. So I guess number 4 fits with what I was doing except I was a turtle dps that could step up if need be. All I know was that I was damn good at it.

As for usefulness? All classes are useful, it the person behind the toon. If that person is useless, well, performance in the game speaks for itself.

My main was a NB and I wanted a change, mainly due to everyone crying at me all the time that NBs are OP, so I rolled my templar. Wrecking people as a templar has the advantage that nobody can scream and cry that it was because I was playing an OP class, seeing as how templars completely suck to the point that I use like 1 or 2 templar skills on my bars at a time. I literally have ended up playing with primarily weapon skills due to how poor the templar skills stack up in comparison, the only templar skill I use consistently is jabs.

Now that they suck more than ever due to other classes getting actual re balances and buffs, I am not so sure I want to play a templar, and might end up going back to my NB, or leveling my DK alt.

My vote would be "Non of the Above"

My "main" was the 7th character (and 8th played) on my first account.

I made 1 male and 1 female for each class...and also 1 each Magicka and Stamina.

Sorry to buck the "official" forum trend here...but I'm sticking with my Stamplar!

If I wanted things easy...I'd switch to one of my other characters. I choose to play ESO to have fun, and for my money, my little Stamplar is the most fun to play. Challenging with some of the nerfs, oh course! But that to me is what makes each victory that much sweeter

I'll never be the top of the leader-board...but that won't be because of some nerf. It will be because I haven't figured out how to overcome my deficiencies as a player.

After all...I play ESO to have fun

Now don't get me wrong, If ZOS wants to actually fix this class...I wouldn't complain one little bit!

This poll seems very PvP focused. I am a PvE soloist, so I used a Templar to be able to heal my dang self and nobody else. I always played a cleric in baldurs gate/ champions of norrath.....

I got a bit tanky, so I did a few dungeons in that role, but the dps when soloing was terrible when spec'd that way, ain't nobody got time for taking ten minutes to kill a quest boss.

My Templar is now a crafter/provisioner and I play with a NB now. More fun, but I sure do miss my self heals!

Wanted to heal and wear heavy armor and heal. Occasionally poke someone with a sword. But mainly heal.Tanking was fun for a while. PVP was awesome for a while. But now everything has been degraded to the point of uselessness

I reckon now my main will be come a master crafter. cant log in to feed the animals anymore since they are maxed out.Just do writs and pop smoke.

My Orc Templar is a 'War Shaman'. A healer who also throws burning Light and Destruction from a distance.

I really just wanted a character that used a mix of magic and weapons to help my allies. I love playing healers and my plan was to make a battle-healer that was out on the front lines and healing and defending myself and allies.

actually according to the lore it would fit even beter. only ZOS thought *** how imperial suppossed to be like. it should be the most OP race, but it can't beat a altmer with magic or a breton because lore already stated these were the best so they went the stamina/health way

Its really sad. Not just ZOS, but other players hate us too to the point when they create Templar as their last choice.

I soley played my a Nightblade from early beta to this January I find Templars to be easy mode both in PvP and PvE more so in PvE.

Use your Nightblade build on your Templar and so how OP in PvP you become.
