Just realized that Empower only gets consumed once the ability does damage

All this time I've been doing Entropy -> Meteor, followed by immediate Puncturing Sweeps.
What this means is that my Meteor was not actually getting the buffed damage, instead my Puncturing Sweeps were. So now I've been doing Entropy -> Meteor -> Wait until it lands -> Puncturing Sweeps
I'm not exactly sure how this works with abilities like:

✭✭Just tried Empower on DoTs and the buff doesn't get consumed... Not sure if that means Empower doesn't work on DoTs or it's just a UI bug and the DoTs are actually fully affected throughout the duration.
I can't tell though because Console.

Dread_Guy✭✭✭✭✭I don't think channels get the empower bonus. Radiant Destruction and Sweeps don't get the bonus.
