On the world Map it is made to look like it is largish but when you look at it closer, it appears to be smaller than places such as Khenarthi's roost or Betnikh. Takes almost no time to run across in PTS as well.
Either that or I'm blind.

As far as I can remember, there haven't been any comparisons to other zone's sizes in official announcements. Besides, adding tons of fresh landscape for us to romp through doesn't seem to be the point of this particular DLC. Hew's Landing is meant to be a quaint, colorful backdrop for the Thieves Guild and its storyline. There is new content related to TG activities that will send players all over Tamriel, or at least to the parts that are currently in existence. Repeatedly.
