Thank you so much for the 64 bit client. It runs smooth as silk. I dont get those long load screens anymore either but might just be the PTS for that. Crossing my fingers tho.

wot? I am confused... I thought 64-bit was coming in TG for PC... but then patch notes they said it was going to be Mac only. Now u say PC client works great on PTS?

    What is going on exactly?

64 bit client came with the latest PTS patch, but you have to start it manually (\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online PTS\game\client -> eso64.exe [not working for most Win 8/10 user])

Read the updated patch notes. On a side issue windows 7 the game boots fine using eso64.exe, Windows 10 when I clock eso64.exe it acts like its going to load then nothing. The process isnt in the task manager even. Its like it crashes but there is no error.

It was released for PC in the last PTS patch. Though I thought I saw a thread complaining about 64-bit not working. Patch notes said you had to run from .exe, not from the launcher for the 64-bit client to work. Maybe someone forgot to read patch notes, but OP did :D .

    Oh great news!

I am not particularly IT-savvy and I never even noticed that ESO didn't support my 64-bit Windows until they announced that it was coming with TG. lol I always assumed that the time it sometimes takes for graphics to render (particularly other players' armour) was normal.

Hopefully I'll see a significant performance improvement.

I believe the long loading screens are server side and not dependent on your hardware.

Man I hope not lol. I get tired of logging in then having to wait sometimes 10 minutes for character select. I tried everything to get eso64.exe to work on windows 10. Nothing works. I ran it as admin. Made a short cut and ran it under every compatibility mode. It just acts like its loading for 3-4 seconds then nothing.

Don't worry there's plenty of us reporting it already, ZOS knows. Fix expected in a few weeks on PTS.

@Heindrich : don't get your hopes up. I have Win7 so I could test it properly, I'd call the improvements "noticeable", but not "significant". Just a matter of vocabulary maybe, but I don't want people to expect wonders and be disappointed. It's still very nice, more fluent and all...
On a side note, while I haven't been there myself, people in Maw of Lorkhaj on 64bit client have experienced horrendous crashing issues, so there's still a bit of debugging on ZOS side for this client anyway.

Oh man, I wish they would fix it for those of us that can't launch the .exe D: it sounds so nice

The dlc is not dependant on 64bit though. I am sure they are working on it, but if it gets delayed a few weeks it won't really matter.

If it doesn't work well people can always just run the 32-bit version till they work out the bugs.

I'm under the impression that the client automatically picks the .exe dependent on if you are running 32 or 64 bit os. So those that are not clued up on how to start the game without starting the client are really going to have problems if they run 64 bit win 8 or 10.

It will work like that eventually, but that functionality is not in the launcher yet. So they won't put it in until the 64-bit client works well I guess.

_ 64x client for windows will tentatively go live in the first incremental patch AFTER thives'guild DLC (source : Gina Bruno)
    - Launcher on PTS launches 32 bits client automatically. people who want to try the 64x have to launch it manually from the game's folder.
    - Launcher on live will choose 64x version automatically upon detection of system specs. People who will want to run 32 bit client in spite of being eligible for 64x version will have to launch it manually from the game's folder.

Is the 64 bit client part of the standard game and not part of the DLC? If so then ya I suppose they could do that. I would prefer they get it going before launch tho.
