Is that the pirate dungeon? That place is awesome. I guess the bosses can be pretty tough for PUGs, especially the one that throws a player off the edge of a ships' deck if they don't have their back to a wall

    Well done Havonic!

Yup, Tough quest / Boss. My group got defeated by Captain Blackheart 3 times before we came up with a winning strategy. Healer kited the melee adds, 2 x DPS on the archer adds & I tanked the Capt. One of those great fights that we all breathed a massive sigh of relief when it was over :D

6 adds spawn, kill them and you get another 6 straight away. Just ignore them and burn it. Don't take it as the tank will end up a skeleton straight away, far right corner is a small alcove and a rock you can climb and end up back on a small piece of beach. The boss can get you there but the adds cannot for next time. 4 people mobbing him will make very short work.

ive never understood why people struggle with this last boss. I've never had a fight with him last longer than like 30 seconds. The harpy lady though...don't like her

As the tank, I pulled the boss all the way back up the slope near the entrance. the adds converge as they go uphill making it easy to aoe dps them. Healer was providing heals by standing in the centre.

That's usually when the dps in your team is not lacking, but due to same your team is squishy ...so the harpy lady becomes a struggle, if the dd's or healer get hit by her. >.< she hurts

Well there is a logical reason for that, the faster the boss dies, the less you have to deal with the boss's mechanics.

Blackheart can be pain in the backside when he keeps transforming the healer but yeah, have to agree, Roost Mother probably is the worst boss in there.

Also, friendly bit of advice (because I rarely run into people who know this), First Mate Wavecutter's Volley ability can be interrupted. Do so as much as possible because it hurts, a lot.

Using Anulment (or its morphs) help a great deal on the Roost Mother. For the end boss one dps should always concentrate on the archers.

The final boss fight, if you lack the sheer DPS to burn him down, is a wait and see fight where both DPS just focus on teh adds as they pop, and down the boss' hp as they can. Tank has to maintain the boss busy, and healer has to heal the tank. If dps do their job, the adds won't hit anyone enough for the healer to need to worry about them.
The only actual problem goes when the boss turns either the tank or teh healer to a skelly. And at that point, Survival is the main goal there, for at least 20 seconds. Otherwise, not a very complicated fight, You can coordinate enough with plain text strategy and roles on a pug group... heck, you can even 2 man it if both dps can take at least 3 or so hits

That hagraven's red circles can be easily avoided. When she stats spewing fire, she launches some sort of homing missiles that are following players and explode on the ground. If you stay still, you will get hit by multiple "missiles" and can die.
If you keep moving (not towards any of teammates), you can avoid pretty much all damage.

Yea, I've always had trouble with the final boss and really wasn't expecting my group to get past it, mainly because of the following:

    - We really only had 2 experienced players running it, DPS and Tank (me)

    - It was our Healer's third dungeon and our other DPS was just showing me his build and how it worked to see if I could find the problem with it. (His damage was pretty bad)

The final boss was the only one where we had trouble, but I'm glad me and my guildies were being persistent with it. When we did kill Blackheart, it felt so good.

    Thanks for all the advice!

The first time i did that dungeon i had the same experience, and all 2.5 hours were spent on the last boss. Turns out its nearly impossible if you are v6 being scaled to the v16 cave for group finder.

I swear whatever boosts they give you for those is never enough. Scaling the dungeon down or waiting till end game the boss is easy as pie.

Is this the dungeon where one of the bosses (not the final one for sure) raises his hand (or something like that) and kills you in one-shot unless you managed to interrupt him? Some harpies accompany him too. If so... yeah, it was the most painful boss from the entire dungeon for my group...

Yeah, last time I did BH I was healing and got skeletonized every time. Fortunately we had a templar tank.

BH is almost vet dungeon difficultly. Would love to see ZOS do a vet version of it. >:)

@inarre Yea, without FG skills, it's very difficult unless you have all your members doing great DPS.

At the start we plastered the boss with our ults and got a headstart on the DPS.

As v6 sclaed to v16 its not harder than on v6 without Group finder.
In fact i beat it as lvl 49 with a v6 tank and a v12 healer (cant remember last dd but He was ok)

you're not supposed to fight him the middle. Being surrounded is bad, take the high ground and force the "enemies" to come at you from one direction. You're supposed to pull him to the road up the cliffface and "bottleneck" the adds and the boss.

Once you get used to the Roost Mother, she's actually pretty easy. Though if you are ranged you have a clear advantage there.

As a tank, I've never had a problem with Roost Mother and First Mate was rough until I figured out to just interrupt him.

But I've been in n numerous PUGs that fail hard on the last boss.
