Stam sorc question

I've read the threads about upcoming changes to magicka and sorcs and while I really enjoy playing my stam sorc I guess I'm going to switch over. Is the ingnition build by deltagaming the better one to go after? Or does anyone have any other tips on cool petless magicka sorc builds? Thanks in advance.

All magicka sorcerer builds are basically the same. DW/Resto or Destro/Resto. Defensive abilities and wards on resto bar, crushing shock or curse/det on destro/DW bar respectively.

Dual Wield gives you more spell power. Thus your sorc spells will get a boost.

Is the spell power boost a passive or just having the spell power stats from the weapons themselves?

And actually while I have this thread going let me ask this. How much of a dps difference is a stam sorc to magicka sorc. If it's not crazy higher then I'd just assume stay stam since I do really enjoy it much more.

I think you just answered your own question Stubie. If you enjoy playing Stam more, stay with it. Don't alter your preferred playstyle for the sake of a few stats.

Well I enjoy it but if one is far wore affective then I'll make the swap. If they are on par with each other then I'll stick with it. I just feel a bit under powered is all.

Come endgame PVE, magicka should be more effective, but that shouldn't be much of a factor.
I suggest you try out both and see which one you like more, rather than basing it off "effectiveness".

I have both a magicka and Stam sorc. The Stam sorc is by far more enjoyable for me, and it doesn't matter which hits harder or kills faster because it's two totally different play styles. Just play what you enjoy

Effectiveness is important failing at a dungeon for a hour isnt fun at all...

That being said more skill is required to be a stam sorc effectivly especially if your aiming to be more effective or just as effective as magic so you need to OBJECTIVELY gauge your own skill and see if your caring your own weight as a dps

In all honesty, Detlia's Ignition sorc is so outdated that Deltia himself doesn't even think it's good anymore. We might do an Ignition redux with the changes after he finishes messing around with potion chugging Argonians on the PTS but he seems to have fallen out of love with Sorcs in general.

one thing that will help is to switch to a FengRush build. He is one of, if not THE, best stam sorc out there. I run his builds and 3 out of every 4 stam sorcs I know run his builds. It is his specialty and he knows the whole class back to front. Deltia is OK for beginners but you need to watch videos by some guys that specialize in sorcs if you really want to be competitive.

You don't miss the Surge heals, though? That's why I don't use Flurry (or morphs) for my main damage skill on my VR16 S&B/DW Stam Sorc. Right now I use Ransack + medium attack weave for single target damage (about 11K DPS). I only use Dual Wield for Tornado AOE.

FengRush focus on onehander which I do not like at all. I find it slow and clunky. I use DW/Bow and keeping my poison bleed stacks up while weaving attacks. I think my feeling of under powered is just my mix of crappy gear while I'm trying to hit vet 16. I do have a ton of keys saved up though.
