As much as I want a necromancer class its highly unlikely to happen. I think the closest we can hope for is a necromancer skill line.

I want this OP ( would change a few of your actual necromancy skills ) but there needs to be a necromancer in this game.

Guild Wars 1 did the necromancer right.

Skyrim's Conjuration magic skill tree did the necromancer / Summoner class right.

Likely in conjunction with a DLC. So not for a year at least.
    PC/NA: Primarily Daggerfall Covenant.

Lennie: Breton Sorceror. 9-trait crafter on everything, purveyor of useless frippery.

I say what I always say concering this: adding new classes at this point... is a bad idea, as it will certainly vex people who have been playing the game for those what, eighteen months or so, and would have wanted to have that class for this or that character, but now would feel cheated if they had to start anew to enjoy it (or worse, delete an old character for the slot, though more character slots are supposed to come to the crown store)

Thus a much better way to "add new classes" is something like a "Class Morph", where the original class is expanmded by adding a fourth skill line and rebranded into a "new" sort of "prestige class"... and if that one was to get done, necromancer certainly would be a good addition!

As much as I'd love the idea of playable Necromancy, it's kind of resurrecting a dead horse at this point. All we can hope for is that their future plans include something like it. Spellcrafting would have been nice.

I would like a class, though I think a skill line is more likely. It should of been an available from the start, as it is in most of the single player games and has a prominent place in ES lore. I struggle as it is to be 100% happy with any characters as I always play necromancers in RPGs and MMOs. Because ESO doesn't have necromancy I am forced to make do with a gimped NB. Which is hardly adequate and has inflicted me with "restartitus" which I have never suffered from before!

I do not think a class should be written off though. Many MMOs have successfully introduced new classes way after launch, such as the Beastlord from EQ. And as we approach ESO's 2nd year anniversary the game is, in my opinion, becoming a little stale with the lack of new skill lines that aren't just passives.

So yes, I for one would like a new class, but would settle for a skill line. And it seems to be popular request on these forums. Are you listening ZOS?

In my thoughts the Scythe would be just an animation like the Blade the Nightblades have for some of their skills. And the ultimate with the Scythe would just be light attacks like overload but melee range.

Your scythe reminds me of the Hero Xul in HotS with his Cursed Strikes ability.

    New Class: NO NO NO

New skill line(s): YES YES YES
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

They can't even balance existing classes properly. Just no.
And again, necromancy is just too cool to give it only to one class. Skillline would be nice tough.
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt,
It lies behind stars and under hills,
    And empty holes it fills,
It comes first and follows after,
    Ends life, kills laughter.

Guild Wars 1 did the necromancer right.

GW1 necros could run around with hordes of minions. Imagine the fps in cyrodil with that.

Necromancy is so specific it should be a separate class. I really hate the archetype dilution of classless systems. You end up playing an elementalist-barbarian-werewolf-scout-necro-arcane archer-druid in heavy armor, dual wielding shields. This is obviously an exaggeration but you can already see this with magblades who are bloodmage-elementalist-shadow mage assassin-warlocks.

It's both a procs and con in ESO , on the bright side , you could be anything and use any weapon . On the other side , it destroys the purpose of classes.

That's why I said summon " a lot of minions ". Necromancy is both cursing enemies ( draining health included ) and summoning minions.
