    3 main issues here, to my mind:

    1) Other MMOs can manage large scale battles without this level and consistency of lag.

    2) ESO originally could manage large scale battles with much lower lag. Then ZOS brought out a patch that screwed things up royally, and

    3) They haven't been able to fix their mistake for over a year now.

    Totally unacceptable and unprofessional.

    You guys seriously need to get your facts straight......

    LAG and FPS is NOT THE SAME...

    FPS is completely CLIENT SIDE...that mean VISUAL REPRESENTATION OF THE GAME IS 100% ON YOUR MACHINE...

    which includes but not limited to:
    -animations
    -non interactable assets in the world
    -etc

    LAG is network COMPONENT that sends and recieves various reports in "real time" that keeps track of your interactions...

    when 50vs50 people confront each other in cyrodiil SERVER has to do TOONS OF CALCULATIONS..

    To put it into picture...

    100 PLAYERS

    -all have at least 5 buffs including Boon and Food etc
    -Buffs keep applying and remmoved during the fights
    -AoE abilities affecting multiple ppl in fight - now server has to calculate ressistances, passives,dodges,buffs
    -and tons more stuff

    AND IT HAS TO BE IN 50-80MS for us to be happy....ITS FREAKING HARD...not to mention all the other back end stuff server has to do...

    it has to travel crazy amount...YOU>SERVER>ENEMIES>SERVER>YOU...simplified but it has to run throug entire world and back to you in a hearthbeat (even faster)...

    server technologies is a mysterious game...and i played MMO's almost exclusivelly for the last 14years and i cant find 1 mmo that has ESO's combat system + pvp enviroment....its unique...and therfore there isnt a template devs have to follow...


    if you have no clue what im talking about then just go to any pve zone and walk around, and ask you mom to pull the plug on your router...

    THE SECOND SHE PULLS THE PLUG YOUR LAG IS OVER 9000 (DC FROM SERVER) AND SEE IF YOUR FPS FALLS...IT WONT..CUZ NETWORK COMPONENT DOES NOT AFFECT HARDWARE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR VISUAL REPRESENTATION.

So I think you have to understand that people want to have this changed, but you are ignoring this topic for almost a year now.

    If the Lag has nothing to do with the Caps and we are all wrong - fine, but you are not even trying it, not even explaining it, not just even saying No. There have been a lot of smaller changes to PvP like deers and animation so I believe that you are trying to fix this, but completely ignoring what seems like the biggest problem looks like you are pruning the nettle instead of grabbing it by the root.

    There would be no risk in changing this, try it on one campaign, do it on the PTS, whatever. If ZOS proves us wrong people will have more patience, the only way to loose is ignoring us. People care for this game a lot, but there's a limit to everything.

    i only see the lag get worse but i dont blame you guys at all i blame the 3 full man raid running around destroying the server it will never be fixed with things like that happening i know you guys advertised the game as large scale but not that large you can try and try it will never be fixed wiht all the groups this larch spamming aoes in a small ball its just never goin to happen

    Its not a magic bullet that is needed, its a magic rollback of the lighting and server-side anti-botting patches

    Everyone who was there knows this. It is SO TRUE.

    Also, the people (PVPers too, lol hard to believe, amirite?) who whined and cried for AOE CAPS WAHHHHHH should now be tarred and feathered.

    LIMIT REACHED for myself and many of my guild.... when it comes to PvP in this game!

    I still manage my guild and play occasionally, but I am done supporting the game until what I enjoy playing has a REAL and substantial fix to it. If it doesn't happen there is another option being added March 7th to the MMO world.

    I doubt it will be fixed in its entirety. Infact I think it will add more bugs as that seemed to be the way with it's last patches.

    First big content patch always comes with bugs ZoS didn't catch.

    Actually, it is a safe bet at this point that every Campaign is on a separate server (inside the Megaserver) for that Campaign. It is also a safe bet that it has been this way since launch.

    Zenimax should just shut up about the lag and let the crying kids either learn what's really happening or just quit. they bought the game already, and most don't even sub, so it's not a loss.

    You shouldn't even run PvP like this its totally unplayable and i feel like im scammed 500-900 ms in Cyrodiil while questing... i just don't have words... No fixes nothing radio silence... The game was running smooth before anti bot and lightning patch just revert it back...

    Before AoE caps, lightning patch and the anti bot.exe on the server, there was no lag. Cyrodil use to be lag free.

    I would throw doubt on your claim that it was actually Lag free! It has been much worse since the Anti Bot work they did, but in this time the play style also made a huge change with more Zergs as well, as PVP Guilds became more organised....

    I still remember at launch having lag whilst taking a keep when there was two large groups fighting.... I agree, it was nothing like the +999 ping you get now, but it was a noticeable slow down and rubber banding! So I still believe there would be issues if the removed all these changes.

    Ah the lovely rose-tinted goggles of yester-year.

    This game has always had lag issues and FPS problems. During the first open beta weekends in PvP you'd get rubber banding and ability lag until they improved that.

    During 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 you'd have lag bugging out siege, making it impossible to do anything except light attacks, causing your health to desync until you died with full health, occasional ping spikes and quite common fps drops including the famous 'combat for 3 seconds and then 3 FPS until relog' issue.

    The lag in cyrodiil might have improved since they botched it the previous patch but it's always been there causing headaches for everyone and making a lot of people rage quit the game. There's been plenty of suggestions offered to help improve it so I'm not going to add any more, but wanted to add a helpful reminder to those who believe there were good, lag-free times many moons ago.

    We'll know more next week after TG is pushed to the live servers. There are fixes in there specifically to help with lowering the game lag.

    lol how many times have we heard this, when are people going to realize, "NO MMO" has complete lag free PvP, while ESO seems to have it a bit worst then other games" maybe" maybe not, do a search and your will find every game has lag issues.

    But whatever, ya lag sucks but unless your on a lan line hooked up direct in the next room, your going to have a chance for lag, too many jumps and distance with the current internet infrastructure over hundreds even thousands of miles/kms.

    Would be nice someday to have fiber optics or better from coast to coast and around the world but we are not there yet.

    Most of everything they scripted and built was from the hero engine - and transferred to this in house engine. What is this in house engine called?

    Why is there so many similarities in this game to SWTOR?
