Thanks man, I dislike wrecking blow as it feels so sluggish. I like moving, rolling etc.

if you want to duel me i can show you i can roll and move alot better than a sword and board user. Hope you're not EP. I have 2 meters on your SnB skills except for the one that matters which is reverb bash... I'm pretty hard to hit and reach.

Also im starting to think that your part of the "hipster" crowd ... too good for some weapons ... when they're only ... weapons lol

In all fairness. The really really good players in the dueling areas rock sword and board. I've seen the best of the best WB spammers get wrecked by sword and board builds. Now this doesn't carry over into group play. In group play WB spammers just charge and WB spam until their target is dead because many people don't play sword and board tank. WB is much faster game play and more responsive. Which is why way more people use it. I stand by my statement that most players rock WB because its an instant I-win button in group play. And it certainly is an instant I-win button with no skill against a magicka NB when cloak doesn't work properly. Which is the point of this thread.

Ofcourse they do because of this that is being fixed.

Most duel areas ban the use of reverb.

You cannot possible think that S&B players only do well because of that 1 bug. By that logic WB players only do well due to the bug letting them be able to hit stealthed, roll dodging or behind object players.

That bug is undodgable, you can land a wb put dots and a take flight before you ever allowed to break free... The majority of SnB users ive fought in the open have used this.

To me the open world is the best spot for random fights... No real rules, and everything is on the table... Because you cannot build or change set specifically for that one fight, you must plan and fight with all possible scenarios... Duels to me take away too much from the game and the possibility of some one else interfering with a fight, too many rules ... i kinda like the chances of things happening like the unexpected be it in my favor or not.

I guess AoE BBQ, isnt a dueler? thought he was...

Well, now you know he cheated to beat you based on current dueling rules. Now, next time you fight, you better remind your opponent that reverb is not allowed, so they can't claim that it wasn't discussed upfront first assuming everything is fair game. But someone with his experience would have known that.

    Cloak is invisibility not invulnerability.

Two random entries from previous patch notes:

    Shadow Cloak:
You can no longer be hit by single target attacks while this ability is active. You also can no longer avoid infamy from lockpicking by using this ability.

Shadow Cloak: This ability and its morphs will now correctly cancel an attacker's channel for the following abilities:
    Drain Essence and its morphs
    Flurry and its morphs
    Lightning Staff heavy attacks
    Restoration Staff heavy attacks
    The summoned Storm Atronach's Zap

This was ZOS fixing bugs with cloak. Looking at these it should be fairly obvious what the intended functionality of this skill is.

Sure, and that sounds fair. But it doesn't say anything about cancelling single target abilities, which is what the OP is implying. What this is mainly to stop is people shooting staves around the place to uncover Nightblades.

You might not have noticed that it INTERRUPTS channeled attacks. It's intended to stop attacks against your character that are already in progress like flurry. Also... this is not a skill description that enumerates everything about the skill. These are patch notes with information about aspects of the skill that were fixed.

Who says it interupts skills? THis is your interpretation, or what you want it to do. But that is not the intent of the skill. Stealth is just that...stealth, i.e. invisibility. It is not a protect you from all damage, get out of jail free card.

Someone else posted patch notes that show exactly which channel skills are interrupted. WB is not on that list. Long duration channels are. I fail to see the understanding of this discussion. I feel we are all going to have to put on tin foil hats and nerd out to discuss the difference between invisibility and invincibility. Jesus man

Actually it's pretty much exactly that.

I've seen "converts" to S&B that are now reverb spammers that were previously really bad and are now capable of killing people.

It's more or less the same thing with the WB spammers that use whatever bs (hack, exploit, macro) to basically never miss with WB.

Like take the self proclaimed Lord Fxxxrush. He hits you through walls, while not facing you, through floors... you name it. It basically never misses.

Point being you can take a pretty average player and adopting broken mechanics makes them not so very average.

The real problem with Wrecking blow is how it hits when it shouldn't hit.

Right through a well timed cloak? Yep.

    When you are dodging? Yep.

When you have outplayed your opponent moved behind them and they are facing the other direction? Yep.

Through walls, stairs and things it shouldn't connect through? Yep.

When you moved 20 meters away from the WB spammer? Still hits you.

It's broken or being exploited somehow.

I've been hit with when the WB spammer is on the catwalk at a keep and I jumped off and am on ground and WB spammer is still on the catwalk.

Wb has always been broken, the range and the cc. If you complain on here you get all the baddies that play 1 button wonder builds shouting 'block' , 'it's easy to dodge to glitchy skill' , 'move behind them (and still get hit)', get away from them after they hit you with that 60% snare....

OK, imagine this. Next patch notes include one minor change to shields. They need 1.5s to fully manifest and harden. If they are hit within that 1.5s they shatter and disappear.

Those are fixes to shadow cloak based on which you can infer its intended functionality. So no its not a list of every single skill cloak is meant to interrupt - its the list of skills they managed to fix in that particular patch. And 'cancels enemy channel' = 'interrupts enemy channel' if you ask me.

Cloak makes you invisible, it doesn't make you go into another dimension where you are invulnerable to all attacks.

It should break line of site. What do Magicka NB have to compensate for WB spam? We can only dodge roll 2-3 times before out of stamina. We have no class stacking shield, or BOL, or armor reduction... To think of cloak as an escape is wrong considering it is countered 95% of the time via AOEs, detect invis pots, and magelight to name a few. So explain to me what the counter is to getting spammed to death? I feel like a broken record in this thread. Don't tell me that all we have to do is walk through the spamming player. That is horse**** since WB is a hard target lock and no one and I mean no one ever mysteriously misses *cough* repeatable while loop macro *cough*.

Oh and now you suffer like every other magicka build had too. Best thing a magicka nb can do is apply a snare so it's a lot easier to circle them. Stun them when possible. Try force them on the defensive. It's a broken skill altogether, very high dmg, empower, broken cc, broken range.

Lol, these are spots where PvErs go to level toons. This isn't where PvPers go looking for a duel/fight. If you are going to a PvE spot to pick a fight, it is only because you are garbage and you are looking to beat up on those unprepared for a fight or simply (most likely) easy prey. Go find some real fights and leave the PvErs alone.

Dear precious nightblade and your cloak.

If you are standing on a mountain and a boulder comes hurtling down the hill towards you, do you think the best thing to do would be to:

    a) cloak and sit tight and wait till it passes straight through you as it can't see you so how can it hurt you
    Or......
    b) take evasive action and get out of the way of the frikken boulder before it smashes you to pieces because whether it can see you or not, you are matter and if you are in its way you are going to lose.

Being invisible does not give you the ability to allow two handed weapons to pass straight through you mate. Get out the way or suffer the consequences.

OK, imagine this. Next patch notes include one minor change to shields. They need 1.5s to fully manifest and harden. If they are hit within that 1.5s they shatter and disappear.

Jesus man

Did you read what I wrote? These are patch notes, not fully detailed skill descriptions (as these dont actually exist in ESO).

Interpret things as you will; cry yourself to sleep. We have different interpretations of how the skill is suppose to work and what 'stealth' means. Tho it would seem my interpretation is more inline with how the skill actually works and what the devs intended as functionality for the skill.

I dont interpret anything here - I read. And dont be melodramatic. Do you cry yourself to sleep over a video game? Neither do I. Dude. This is not a life defining thing for me nor should it be for anyone. With that said I dont see how the skill is more in line with how you think when it works exactly as I described with the exeption of WB (which this thread is about).

P2P offered you 'hell yeah!' moments. F2P offers you 'thank god its over' moments.

Cloak has several uses; repositioning yourself in a fight to gain the advantage, or maybe gain a 100% chance critical hit, or a stun, extra damage.. why does it also need to cover you from flaming meteors and basic attacks too? Like I said, Nightblades rely on this skill as a crutch

If Nightblades rely on Cloak as a crutch, then every WB spammer relies on WB as a crutch too.

Most WB spammer don't have a concealed weapon in their class stam morphs
