I think it's a fine line with dying gear in games, before it gets to the stage of looking like it's from the power rangers.

Looking wierd, people say? take a good hard look at the red-bladed rubedite swords... I'd love to be able to recolor those to some more subdued metal color.
As such, I'd love to see some way to recolor weapons. Maybe dye system (since its already in the game), but maybe some other system... a "visual recrafting" feature for master crafters, where you can adjust the color to any metal... dislike that voidsteel look? Reforge your sword to look orichalcic steel instead! Hate the red rubedite visuals? Go for plain old steel visuals through recrafting. Et cetera...3 -

*AWESOME IDEA: Using ten of a base material and one improvement material allows us to recolor a weapon of our choice in the base material's color.
For example: I have an Epic Rubedite Sword in Primal style. It currently has a shiny medium rubedite red to it. This doesn't match my character at all, so I use 10 Voidsteel Ingots to change the color to a V9-V14 dark voidstone blue color. I no longer have to craft my V16 weapons in Glass to avoid having a mismatched red to my character.
Since weapons also change appearance depending on quality, you just add an improvement material as well to give it the appearance of a green/blue/purple/gold version of the base material/level, or none to mimic the white.
The player cannot make an ugly bright pink sword. We get to reuse all of the other colors that weapons had while leveling to look cool, instead of that annoying rubedite red.
If you want to test this yourself, simply color your character bright white, blue and silver. Pull out a large V15-V16 red weapon. Now pull out a large V9-V14 dark blue weapon. Which looks better?
This would be so easy to put in and would make practically everyone happier.

✭✭Yes it would definitely be nice to dye some parts of the weapons! I was slightly disappointed when I created my rubedite axe, it went from a beautiful blue colour, to a deep red, but I've got used to it now and kind of like it
Even so, it would be nice to be able to change your weapons to match in with the rest of your armour's colour scheme if you have one.
I asked for the ability to dye our mount's armour too, it was picked in an ESO Live and the answer was pretty much no

My Ancient Elf staff is Christmas colours and I'd rather dye it to something a bit less bright.
This is the only image I can find but as you can see the top of the staff is bright green and half red. I'd prefer for it to be more subtle colours, so maybe I can go back to wearing blue robes instead of changing them to green to not clash with this.

No actually they said that weapon dyes were gonna come with shield dyes but when the date was approaching they said they have to delay weapon dyes by a few weeks cause there's more unique weapons than shields. Few weeks to few months later hey costume dyes int he works but nothing about weapon dyes.
@ZOS_GinaBruno please add weapon dyes already there's already a 3 slot color code for them already no? For you know the color that they already have.1
