    Dye the blade? No.
    Dye the other parts? Sure.
    Dye the shield? Sure.

Because purple and red blades look so realistic
I would really like to change this silly rubedite color, something like "Warrior's steel" or "Maormer's eye black" would look so much better.

Well actually depending on the temperature the black smith uses to forge the weapon a weapons color can be Blue, grey, silver, gold, red, pink, and of course charred black. I think but never a less sure red color is ridiculous but can be realistic. Doesn't mean I don't wanna change it I got my armor looking lore friendly with steel grey now jsut need a steel grey sword to use and as much as bad ass the Ebonheart style greatsword looks I prefer to have my weapon match my armor of nord style.

I really wish there was some recolor option for weapons. Entirely because of highlevel weapon color sillyness. Wouldn't mind at all of the choices were limited in that one... like mentioned, all I really wish for is an option to recolor the business parts to any of the lower tier crafting material visuals. Which would be a feature much desired for armor as well as I recall from other discussions.

The actual weapons?, not really. It would look weird. I mean the material. Like it was colored in using ms paint. Maybe quivers, though?.

I think it's a fine line with dying gear in games, before it gets to the stage of looking like it's from the power rangers.

Saying that. That's just my own opinion ofc.

Before somebody reports me for not agreeing with their pov.

Problem is, the high level weapons already look like they're from the Power Rangers. I want to be able to dye my weapons so I can get rid of that stupid "Power Rangers" look by making them a more natural color.

Or how about they just add dyes to weapons but limit the colours to metallic, wooden and other realistic ones and leave the others out. Problem solved.

I cant think why not.Dye anything we want to.I dont personally want to dye mine pink and blue, but if others would like to I dont mind at all.I would like my bow and it's quiver to match my gear in color.

I'm still for dying everything. Just release a grayscale/medium matte silver version of everything and let players customize them before heading out. Even mounts. You want your horse brown? Okay. You want it pink? Okay.

Pink was considered a more masculine color until the post-war 1940's. Blue was seen as the feminine color. Because of all the neutral, earthtone colors used in WWII, fashion basically reinvented itself and many notable celebrities and artists migrated to pink for women not so much because it was feminine but because it was more fun than black or beige or the previous standard, blue.

And you do know that children dressing like younger versions of adults is a 1940's construct, too, right? If there were historically accurate children in an Elder Scrolls game, boys and girls would both be wearing dresses around town. Maybe that's what Hermaeus Mora knows...

    So yes. All the dyes.

Actually, pink was used to identify baby girls from baby boys in orphanages long before the forties. Also families used the color difference. Even in the 1800s women put blue on their little boys.

    Yes.

I like my characters to look as common as possible. I despise anything too colorful or flashy, so you can imagine how much I hate the ruby weapons. I want to dye my weapons to make them look ordinary.

I don't mind colorful and flashy stuff on other people, I actually like when my characters look more mundane than other people around them, so I couldn't care less if someone is going to dye their great sword bright pink.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

What I think is funny is that the forum is full of people who just want somewhat normal colored weapons. Zo$ is the one with the *** red swords. Honestly what colorblind macaroni allowed rubedite to make it out of the studio.

Plz let me clean all this strawberry jam off my sword Zo$, I want to be able to dye my weapons a somewhat reasonable color.

Just an FYI, necroing old threads is against the forums TOS; they prefer people open NEW threads versus resurrecting old ones.

    -red, green, blue swords

-don't want people having silly colored weapons

    /restscase

(seriously how can anyone use the excuse that we shouldn't have silly looking weapons when the standard right now is strawberry red)

what makes a silly weapon worse than silly armor? Also how does my silly colored sword in any way affect you?

just let people dye them to whatever color they want.

    yes, we need it!
Everytime I dye a new set of armor I end up with some combination of black+red or black+white, because nothing else seems to fit the unchangeable rubedite weapon dye! :s

I thought this was a new thread until I saw a reply from @Gidorick...

On topic, I believe it is time to allow us to dye weapons. Allow me to play my way.

ZOS always argued that they didn't want people with pink swords... My swords/daggers look pink. Would love to due them back to "steel"
