What's the complaint over monster helms ?

The forums back 2 weeks ago: "I wish there was a token system so I can get the sets I want "

*ZOS gives easier way to get sets"

Forums after: "omggggzzzzzz I can't believe you can get a set so easy now"

Leave the sets as is this is a good change. Good job ZOS

It's certainly not the best solution, but it's a good start I guess.

I agree it's a start and I'd rather have more people using monster sets than leaving my chance at a set to RNG

They complain because it's far too easy to get now. 100k Gold or 200k AP *rolls eyes*

But if the vendor didn't exist, they'd still complain over dungeon RNG
    • Does it actually drop the helmet
    • Does it have the desired trait

We wanted a way to get the items by actually running the content as was intended, but not with the hideous RNG that's there currently. The merchant is a lazy "fix" and the costs are way, way too low.

Sounds cool. I don't get why people would be against it as long as its about 300k-900k ap or gold depending on the item.

Those prices are far too low considering you can run 100+ vet dungeons and still not get a helm.....or blow 50-100 keys and still not get the shoulder with the trait you are looking for.

This game is turning into GW2 and WOW where you earn nothing by playing the harder content and just buy everything with currency off some trading post or npc...

People will always choose this method over RNG bad luck. RIP Dungeons, guna be harder to get groups now.

    Far too casual now.

Im sure people will still run the daily and the occasional helm farm. If they get the shoulders they want the smart thing to do would go do a few farming runs of the corespondent dungeon rather than waiting for the next piece to come into the vendor. Theres not way ZOS will put set pieces back to back.

I like the idea of the monster vendor. I have no wish to run endless re-runs of dungeons for a roll of the die chance to maybe get what I want. I know a lot of players do like to re-run dungeons but it's not my thing. Once is enough to enjoy the design & content.

If the AP cost is relatively cheap then it might be good incentive to pull more people into PVP & to stick with it until they achieve their goal... who knows... they might just get a taste for it! :D

We can purchase them from a vendor who brings a random set piece similar to Xur in destiny. They will cost 200k AP or 100k gold! This also begins after the thieves guild update goes live on your specific platform.

This makes me a sad panda...I'm with the others that say this is way to easy to get. What this is telling me is that instead of doing the dungeons to maybe get a drop at all, maybe get it in the right trait and the right weight, I can just spend half a day farming and make enough money to buy it instead.

I'm still against it existing in the first place, but now that it's definitely staying it should be drastically increased in price. They should be a nice alternative that gives you a definite chance of getting the weight/maybe trait you want for the PvPers and people who are sick of the RNG grind, but should still cost a very pretty penny.

Okay maybe the price can go up just a wee bit... Maybe even implement a tactic in which every time you buy another set the AP price increases? Say the first set is 200k a piece, the second is 300k a piece and so on? This seems rather even for the first few sets.

Even this could be circumvented, in that if you bought them with gold you'd just grind up a new char to lvl 10, take the gold from the bank and buy another helm on that one without the raise in price. As AP is much easier to get too it'd be a lot quicker to go RR AP farming with your lvl 10 to get the necessary amount.

I can't speak for the AP price because I haven't PvPed much and the gain rate has changed, but I'd say that with the Infused traits they're getting now it should be at least 500k gold. These helms were intended to almost be a status symbol that you can beat the dungeons and that you did it enough to not have just fluked it, so making them this easy to get in the proper traits without even needing to ever run that dungeon once is very silly to me. It should be something that you earned, not that you got from running in circles around Wrothgar for a little while.

This would help a little, but would mean that lots of people would still get 8 base price pieces. Not to mention the people with multiple accounts...also, as there are only a few sets worth having people woudl normally only need the 1 set per char anyway, so the increase would be almost pointless.

This game shouldn't be about the grind that takes 100's of runs to get 1 drop, but it does need a guaranteed way of getting the drops from doing the content i.e. a token system. The merchant should be a very premium thing IMO.

It also doesn't mean we should give all the end game rewards to people who needn't ever have completed the relevant content by selling it to them. I would have been happiest of this merchant sold them to you for gold/AP and some material pieces you gained from that particular dungeon (basically a token system where you pay the crafter). It'd be a very similar system to the Daedric Shackles drops from vICP bosses, where you give the required mats and get a box that's guaranteed to have a shoulder/helm, but random trait/weight.

I am honestly not being shirty here, if we/they did this would all be over and done. All this bickering between us sucks. It also causes nerfs which mess with PVE because of PVP and just everything.

I really wish this could be separated literally into 2 games.

It's getting pretty old. I complained about the AP decrease on alliance war skill lines, but I guess I can't be too fussy while the monster sets are coming to Cyrodiil.
I think both sides need to consider they are both getting something to lower their grinding for the things they want. Myself included.
PVPers get undaunted stuff, PVErs are getting alliance war skill line AP cut significantly, plus the AP earned will be higher.
People are getting what they wanted and we're still bickering (not directing that at you btw)
