Magicka DK PTS Duels - 40K+ Magicka 4K+ Spell Damage

Just some testing with a few different set ups. Mainly glass cannon approaches 5 Light 1 Heavy 1 Medium

Disclaimer: These duels aren't meant to show skill because everyone is just testing things out. This was just to showcase the Magicka DK.

Also, Magicka DK has always been decent in 1v1's, I'm still not sure how the magicka DK buffs will translate into open world but I'm hoping for the best.

    Magicka DK seem just so much more tanky with the added healing and only being able to reflect once. Empowering chains is amazing and works like Ambush in that can be used while rooted and over gaps. The biggest thing though is the dot damage against shields and blocking targets. The pressure is always on, and in my fights against them on PTS my most used skill is probably purify >_<.

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this
    • Fix long loading screens (mostly caused by players joining group out of rendering range)
    • Add 2 more quickslots to the wheel or add a different wheel for sieges weaponry only
    • Fix Balista Bolts not dealing damage on walls or doors if deployed at a certain place
    • Release bigger battlegrounds with 8 to 16 players per team and only two teams
    • Fix the permanent block animation - see examples : link1 link2 link3 link4 link5
    • Gives players 10 minutes to get back into Cyrodiil after relogging / crashing
    • Add a function to ignore the Claiming system of useless rewards
    • Improve the Mailing System / Rewards of the Worthy stacking
    • Assign specific group sizes to specific campaigns (24-16-8)
    • Make forward camps impossible to place near objectives
    • Make snares only available from ground effects abilities
    • Change emperorship to last minimum 24hours
    • Fix body sliding after cc breaking too quickly
    • Remove Block Casting through Battle Spirit

    Prox det just needs to be completely scrapped as a skill. Ball groups are still going to be glowing blue in 2.3.

    No matter which way they change the scaling, coordinated Proxes are going to be stupidly dangerous.

      I understand the point to use it as a burst skill. My concern is that if Prox det would deal a minimal amount of damage to one player (as they promised), it would become just more useful to just slot another ability. But as we can see in the video above, Prox det still deals significant amount of damage with 40k magicka and 4k spell damage to a single player.

      Of course it will. But 2 coordinated proxi is gonna be way more dangerous for a group of 20 tight than the other way around. It will now be a zergbuster.

        With a build like that i dont think very well. I saw you fight Kodi and your resource problems, i can only imagine how 1v3 would eat your resources :/

        all dots. Except for "bleed damage" which goes through shields.

        True, Magicka DKs have always been pretty decent in 1v1s, but on the PTS you can really tell they received some buffs, which was well needed.
        Because everyone was duelling there wasn't much of a chance to test it in real open world battle, but I took mine to IC and the increased healing really helps. Definitely feeling more tanky now. Didn't even use a resto staff, which normally I would.

        I see you're rocking the new combat text. How do you find it? I really like it. It's not too in your face, gives you the details you want and positions itself really well. I can't wait for that one to go live. I found it much nicer than the addons if I'm honest. ZOS did a great job on it.

        Me too. I tried taking a few keeps and outposts yesterday in an attempt to provoke some proper war, but sadly only one nightblade showed up.
        Everyone else was duelling around Chalman, which I totally get, they want to try the new skills. But I'd really like to see how magicka DK performs in group fights like you say.

        Correct me if i am wrong. But even if you have 24 players in Raid, if you charge into numbers greater than your own it will scale higher still right? Means you can take on even bigger mobs of players now at keeps.

        You can get 100% proxy damage vs ball groups. Run that with the vicious set + spamming more skills in between and big groups will be wiped.

        I wouldnt call a 24-man group a giant zerg, we often fight groups of 40-60 players on Azura EU.

        Yesterday my Killcounter add-on registered roughly 100 kills while taking Ash, thats just kills tagged by members from our group. If you bring a much smaller group there's nothing you can do against that many players.
