If we had an alternative solution to the Monster Set vendor, would you:
1: Go with the original ZOS' idea: A certain shoulder or helmet every week with fixed trait.
2: Go for the alternative: Undaunted chest keys and Reward for the Worthy+Leaderboard helmets.

20 pieces - helm and shoulder.
5 traits at v16 (AFAIK - Divines, Impenetrable, Infused, Reinforced, Well-fitted).
That is 100 combinations.
100 weeks.
It will take 2 years for all the combinations to rotate.
I believe this alternative gives a good chance for anyone to get the desired piece by doing PvP.
Also, let's not forget that this vendor was introduced to give PvPers an AP dump.
Nobody is going to dump APs into well-fitted Maw of Infernal for example.
So this one piece per week strategy actually won't be effective for AP dumping.
Edit: seems the monster sets will come only in infused, so yeah... the rotation won't take that long.

I would prefer a token system similar to the IC trophy vaults for each different dungeon; that way we don't have to run the dailies, but we do have to run the dungeon. Both of the listed fixes for the OP mean you can never do the dungeon and yet still get the gear/I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

But it does not help the PvP population.
This whole thing is being implemented for PvPers to have a way to dump their AP and earn the Monstet sets WITHOUT having to do the dungeons.2
