What threat would you take seriously?

I've seen a couple of threads recently about some shenanigans happening on the PS4 US server with regards to specific guilds controlling the kiosk market with threats. That is, people are stopping others from bidding by threatening them somehow. Unfortunately, nobody is able to produce an example threat, so, let's figure it out together.

What kind of threat would stop you from bidding on a guild trader?

If the recital started immediately you might not have time to fish that fish out of there. In that case the only reasonable course of action would be to jam something pointy in there as fast as possible.

Yeah I don't see it. They could put you on ignore and boot you out of a guild, but that's it. If it was an out-of-game threat that would be illegal, and why risk being arrested and perma-banned to control a fictional kiosk?

Yeah, its quite sad really. By this point its like the boy who cried wolf.
One day there is going to be a console player telling us of a legit problem, and we'll all just ignore him or laugh at him because all "problems" prior were just a hoax.

If they told me they would take all the mats I have been conveniently hoarding since yesterday... Or maybe if they shot me in the knee with an arrow, or ate my pet crab. Well, then there are those people that relink everything you are trying to sell in chat for a cheaper price... Maybe if they told me that they would do that, I would refrain from bidding. Though I would more likely bid just to make them angry.
