Want to see more to do in the Outlaws Refuge?

Gambling, card games, crafting tables, accessible Guild Store/Bank, quests, writs etc. All suggestions for the Outlaws Refuge as we wait off our bounties. Something to keep us entertained so we don't have to log off and find something else to do as we wait.

With the upcoming Thieves Guild it seems like a great opportunity to liven up the Outlaws Refuge! :)

yes mini games would be nice to see in the game but I wouldn't like them to do that if it takes up to much of their time from fixing the game.

    Skooma bar... :p

On a srs note: it would also be great places to hold same-faction Duelling contests to work off your bounty. Win a few rounds, earn $$ and get rid of that bounty

I thought about Community Service quests for people with huge bounties. Quests the Guard gives which earn you nothing but decreases your bounty. Just an idea. I'd like to see duelling too!

Having a few characters with large bounties, it would be nice to see crafting stations in there and I've also noticed the bank in Outlaw refuge is missing the dialogue options for accessing the guild bank and guild store.

Otherwise, I spend all my time in Cyrodiil or Coldharbour (only two places with no guards).

The biggest challenge in playing a criminal is getting to the respec shrines. Not complaining, but it is definitely an adventure getting there without getting rekt by guards.

That would be a good thing to add to the game. I seriously forgot about the outlaw refuges. This thread reminded me, that they exist. I haven't been to one for at least half a year. There definitely needs something to be done in them :)

I would love to see it, but I don't see it happening. Adding gambling, drugs (skooma) and the like will most likely tip this game from an M rating to an MA rating (that's the Australian standards, I'm not sure what it is for others). As they've almost cartoonified a lot of the game in order to make this so, it'd be something they're not willing to do as they'd lose a large potential audience of younger people.

@MrDerrikk Gambling and drugs causing it to be an AO equivalent? man they must be strict down there. Plus it isn't like it would be mandatory why would EXTRA content turn away people? also if they are so young that they are upset by gambling and drugs then they are legally too young to play the game as it is now.

It's not so much them being upset by it, but the fact that an adult rating on it would make parents less inclined to let their kids play. Coming from a family where I wasn't allowed to play MA games until I was 18 I know what some families are like. Also, it would mean they'd have to update their terms of service most likely, because of how it'd need to be aimed at that audience. I mean, Skyrim was MA and can you imagine if they put the amount of brutality from that into ESO?

Anyway, just my opinion on why not. I would like more, but I don't see it as feasible.

Add quest to steal stuff, first day you need to steal 10k, next day 20k, third day 40k etc, when you fail to reach the goal it resets, you can do it solo or in group. I think it'd be fun to go on stealing-spree.

@RAGUNAnoOne , @MrDerrikk This could be restricted per account the same way they do age-gate or CC (not Crowd Control this time) verification to enable those features.

@Zorrashi drinking games or even imbibed alcohol (with corresponding positive and negative effects) similar to that in Witcher could be interesting. Sujamma anyone?

Heck, the M+ content could be in the form of a DLC. Easy $, restriction solved...

Community Service? What a strange idea :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: That's not something to do in the refuges though; if you're on Community Service, you should be banned from the refuge for a period so you don't give away its location to the guards who are monitoring you.

I'm hoping with the Thieves guild DLC, something will be done to improve the Outlaw refuges. As it stands right now, unless I actively plan on working on the ledgerman skill by stealing everything I can, there's no reason to go the refuges.

Like I stated the first time...
Yeah, the outlaw dens sometimes seem more like... a retirement home for have-been criminals, and I really wish they would more make them look like a den of thieves, then some underground hobo camp.

I want to see all the outlawed stuff there! Not everything in every refugee, but... some, one kind here, the other kind there...

I want to see people gambling away their gold on pit fights, die rolls, card games, shell games and frog races!

I want to see pit fighters rearranging their facial structure for our amusement and to betting pleasure! And perhaps an option to use the pit for player duels! (for a small fee to the ringmaster, of course)

I want to see nightflowers plying their trade, showing off their "assets" and their, uhm, "protectors" making special offers (bonus points for argonians in maid outfits! )!

I want to see shady deals and questionable bargains waiting for our characters in every other dark corner (why should only placers get to scam players - give us NPCs whose deals sound to good to be true, and all too often are - random chance if its a real deal or a scam)!

I want to see all sorts of illicit substances being sold, be it to swallow, smoke or whatever, and the people who bought them sleeping off their influence.

I want to see footpads ruffling through the pockets of those who sleep off their substance of choice.

I want to see random encounters - from the group of thieves telling you to bugger off to the old guy in rags selling a "guaranteed genuine" treasure map, to the asssassin trying to collect on your head...

I want to see some debauchery to be had - for the right price, so we know what we are stealing stuff for! Wine (or mead, or sujamma, or whatever is the local flavor). Women (and pretty boys, this needs be equal-opportunity oogling!). Song (and way wilder and raunchier then what the proper bards can provide!)!

I even want to see the occasional slave auction (at least in regions where this is a thing, cultutally, dunmer lands certainly...)

Hmmm... come to think of it, it would be neat if there was a different feeling to denote high-law and low-law regions... the outlaws in, say, elsweyr are happy and partying (and there might even be an offduty guard or two joining in the fun), the outlaws in, say, wrothgar are quietly fearful that every minute now the kings guard may batter down their doors and drag them all off to the dungeons... etc.
