@ZOS would you allow us to skip silver / gold quests by character IF AFTER...completing all on one

@ZOS If someone beat the entire game main quest, main zones, silver quests by zone and gold quests too (quest achieve in each zone) would you allow them the option on their next 7 characters to skip completing the silver and gold quests only?

-clarification: this would not include dolmens, world boss, dungeons, public dungeons/delves, caves
-it would include the shards, and skills points as well as a jump to VR 9 or 10

Would you consider any of this in any form plus or minus ?

I never got this, you only have to do 5 quests per zone for Silver and then you've unlocked Gold. You can crank those out in no time and then you can get the skyshards at your leisure.

<Don't take this as rude, its just a question> Have you actually completed them before?

Its far more than a few as those require other quests to be complete prior to getting to the quest required.
AND, the larger question is to create a likeness to the first Coldharbor where you can skip and keep the skill points and shards. (Not sure if shards would be appropriate but the skills quests is the topic and question)

Also...ZOS is removing VR's and removing the main story requirements so its halfway there.

-If I complete all the skills quest on one character, can any character after, "skip" doing the silver and gold quests and also get the skill points by choosing to "Skip" when talking to Cadwell.
No I'm not asking can I just go collect the skyshards. I'd like not to have to collect those again either.
Both questions are asking to skip the second time around and keep skill points for all characters.

Oh no, don't worry I don't think it's rude, it's a legitimate question. I've completed it 4 times now (ok 3 1/2 one of my guys still isn't finished with Gold). But that being said, I'm nearly certain that it was only 5-6 major quests per zone and then silver is banged out. I'm not at an ESO ready computer so I can't verify.

I think the way its going to be is when the Dark Brotherhood DLC comes out, (the next one after the Thieves Guild this Mar), they'll do away with VR levels and any silver and gold quests. Once you hit level 50, or complete the main story quests, you'll be able to go to any of the areas and they'll be battle leveled like Wrother, IC and Cryodiil are now. To get skill points, you'll have to go to those areas to pickup the skyshards and maybe do some quests.

    More like 55 quests.

You have 5 zones, each zone with at least 5 area quest chains. Each quest chain has minimum 3 quests, some have more. A hell of a lot more than 5 quests.

Maybe, but I hardly notice it. I cranked the last attempt out in less than a day. The Almanac has a list of the exact ones I have to do, I just run down that list as fast as possible to get to gold.

You can definitely skip around for silver/and gold. Look at the almanac and just find the right area on the map. It is usually pretty obvious. I have done silver 4 times now. The last time I knocked it out in about 5-6 hours. To answer your question, I am opposed to just insta-leveling your alts. I am all for making more stuff account wide, but to simply be vet 10 with all the quests "completed" diminishes the game IMO.

There won't be any leveling very soon....so its only a question for skipping repetitive content which as of the new two DLC's has no value other than shards and skill points.

Stats come via 1-50 and you'll be able to skip the main story AND skip to either gold past silver if you choose.
To me, its just a natural progression of what they are already changing and what exists.

NO... I don't think you should be able to get Skyshards for free... if you want all those SPs on each of your characters, then you EARN THEM on each character by completing the quests that give them. You're already being handed instant leveling once you hit level 50, if you want more SPs than that, then you get out and run your butt off and earn the extra SPs. Do I have to repeat the often quoted MMO reply, "This is an MMO, grinding is part of it, if you don't like it, play a single-player game." ;)

    Errr... nope.

With the upcoming final champion system, people will be able to play as they wish post-mainstory, since from level 50 on their "level" will be their account-shared c-points. Which means, they can do the silver or gold, or not, and still be viable for whatever. That's -already- more then most games allow. Add to that the shared dyes and bank space... and ESO is way ahead of the curve in terms of account wide stuff.

But... if they want the skill points, skyshards, mages guild books, waysrine unlocks and some extra c-points en passant, they should still have to play through some content to get those. Noone should just get to say "I already did that on my main, so gimme"... That'd be like saying "I have already bought a TV for my bedroom, so I demand they install TVs in all my rooms free of charge!"

    Want something? EARN IT!
Want something on an alt? EARN IT for that alt.

I mean, I can see how that'd go. They would take it, then complain about how the game was "boring" because there "just isn't enough to do" and start threads on the forums about why they quit because of it...
If it should have meaning, you should be required to put in some effort to get it.

This design and topic is not typical of any MMO

Shards placed specific to silver and gold content that once VR is removed, serves absolutely no purpose and the skill points for those quests.

If in fact these zones are changed to some other progressive nature, then fine but it appears that these zones which are already barren, will soon be skipped anyways. While the content is relevant for someone who may not want to play each faction sperately, after the next 2 DLC's I don't foresee much interest in doing these for a 3rd or fourth time.

ZOS is removing VR (not giving people anything) but allowing people to keep what they earned
A New 50 this summer won't be a VR16 today so let's keep all that out of the topic please.

It's only a question based on the initial VR removal years ago* and what we think is coming based on a few articles and staff comments within other threads. The post 50 progress is being pushed into an account progress and for PvE...faction walls are falling for dungeons so that logically suggests changes to silver and gold zones are on the table for discussion.

It's not giving anyone anything...it's allowing ppl to keep what they earned such as me not doing silver and gold again....

Along with the base-game patch of Thieves Guild, you'll have complete access to silver and gold zones starting at veteran rank 1 without having to complete the main story. Is this not satisfactory or are you asking for these zones to auto-complete for you?

It serves a purpose by making people go into these zones IF they want those skillpoints (which will also help keep the zones from being barren)- just as they have to go into Orsinium, etc... if they want THOSE Skyshard skillpoints. Most players don't even use all the SPs they gain, so if you don't need them, then don't bother with Silver or Gold. But if you want extra SPs on specific characters, then you should have to collect them PER character IMO.

No... the OP wants any Silver/Gold Skyshards he's collected on characters to automatically apply to ALL characters similar to how color unlocks for Achievements... once unlocked you can access them by all characters.

    Here's what they're actually doing:
What this means is that once you reach Veteran Rank, you can go into either Silver or Gold without having finished the main quest yet. If you complete the main quest prior to VR1, you can still go into Silver and Gold, too.

I have done silver and gold all the way through on 4 characters. It is more and more painful each time but as others have said it is the price you pay for altoholism and getting all of those skill points. If they removed it they remove a large chunk of content for people with multiple toons so I can't see them doing this. As much as I didn't particularly enjoy redoing the quests (particularly AD quests - I don't like your mountains and hippie green stories AD) if I wasn't doing them there wouldn't have been much else to keep me occupied in between DLCs with the state of CyrodiilI atm.

You are misunderstanding this and/applying incorrect assumptions.

I'm asking that AFTER I gather shards AND complete Silver AND gold zones for my character....if I choose to make an alt in the exact SAME faction, I'd have the OPTION to skip Silver if completed previously. This would ONLY apply after gathering ALL shards and ALL skills quest + completing Cadwell SILVER and GOLD zones.

    Make sense.

It's not if I gather shards on one, then all characters get the same number. That's another thread I've read but not what I'm asking. It's also not if I complete any silver or any gold zones, it's only if my alt is in the same faction.

I have done both Silver and Gold and honest why not ask for button to click on so you get VR 16 right away the point of MMO or RPG is that we need lvl up it is part ask to skip thing in MMO is basically tell people (Dont take personal) "Hey im to lazy to do samething again so let me skip please!!"

Beside if you can wait for ZoS to remove VR system you skip everything in this game basically that have to do with any VR content also both Orsinium and Thieves Guild have/will have scale lvl system which mean you at anytime go to those zone and lvl up no matter what lvl you char is

Silver drove me out of the game. Orsinium brought me back to check things out, as a possible alternative. Removal of VR makes me hope I'll be able to stick around this time. I almost don't care what they do as long as this awful system is changed.

I made a toon. It was a toon I liked. I called it my "main." This "main" was in the alliance that I chose, and was a race that I chose. I didn't choose the other races or alliances because I liked them less. However, this being an MMO, my "main" has several virtual siblings called "alts." At first, these "alts" hold things for me and stand around in green pajamas. Eventually, being different races and classes, they wandered out into the world to level a bit and check things out, when I take a break from my "main."

I do not think this is an atypical MMO experience.

So, what happens when my main finishes the story and hits the cap? Hahahaha, now go back and play the alliance you *didn't* choose, surrounded by the races you *didn't* roll, and do all the n00bquests your alts just did. I honestly thought it was a joke, or some temporary "do a couple of quests here and then we're back to the real content." Then I realized that all my toons, if I leveled them, would spend a vast amount of time in the "wrong" alliance, and I might as well not be any race or alliance at all. Just a formless pile of skill points.

It felt ridiculous to be doing the exact same level 7 quests I did on my alts... on my VR1 main... I'm from the Pact, why am I being some stranger who is saving King Casimir's life? No, please don't buy me an ale. Stop saying that. GO AWAY.

Anything that removes this ridiculous content repetition will be very welcome.

Shards work fine as they are. But as far as the quest skill points, they could change it to award them based on number of quests completed in silver/gold as opposed to the almanac checklist.

There are a lot of fun, high replay value quests in every alliance. But most of them are not in the main alliance stories.

I don't think getting "free" skill points just because some other character has done the content is a good idea, because that's duplicating the reward for a single expenditure of effort. But if they detached the skill points from those quests and came up with other ways to earn the same skill points, that could work.

It just amazes me how many people expect a FREE RIDE in an MMO. As it will be soon, any character that you've leveled beyond 50 will automatically transfer that progress (CP) over to new characters once they hit level 50. Yet, players still think they should receive instant SPs without doing anything simply because they've done it once. Why don't they just then make every new character exactly the same as your original, since some players seem too lazy to actually progress a new character? It just blows my mind the amount of laziness and sense of entitlement some players seem to have- they clearly want END GAME for all characters without actually leveling those characters. Even over at DCUO, they allow players to buy skill points they've earned on another character, but, that character still has to take the time to level that character through content... and over their the repetition and mindless grind is awful compared to ESO. Yet here at ESO, they are doing the opposite, they are allowing you to level your character instantly once you hit 50, but making players EARN the additional SPs through running quests and collecting Skyshards. Next you'll be having people say that any Lorebook they have found on their highest character should also automatically transfer to alts, then, any progress on Fighters Guild line should automatically transfer, etc, etc.

I think there are enough options allowing for laziness in this game, I don't think there should be any more.
