Lately i have been having issues with sustain playing my Nightblade Duel wield, so im just wondering what abilities/set-up do others use to maintain health whilst fighting 2+ mobs as a Nightblade. Mainly PVE but feel free to add PVP set-ups aswell!

Rally (2H skill line) is a decent heal over time (hot) and weapon dmg buff.

Vigor (allaince war - assault skill line) requires some pvp but its its a good stamina based burst heal.

Reaper's Mark is handy too. The health return when you finish off a foe is tremendous. Especially if you stack its effect and the health you get back for the Execute attack.

If you're fighting a lot of foes, then they're usually wimpy enough that you can rely on knocking them down pretty quickly, and getting back a significant amount of health multiple times during the fight.

you can only have 1 creature or person marked at a time.

what? no, the above quote is false ^

every time you place a mark on a mob or person, that person is marked.
you cant place "another" mark on a another mobb and stack them.
as soon as you try to place "another mark" on another mobb or person the 1st mark disapiers.
you can only have 1 creature or person marked at a time.

I interpreted the comment to mean you can stack the heal from Reaper's Mark with the heal from the stamina morph execute ability (can't remember name), and doing this sequentially on multiple enemies during a fight. I do this frequently in PvE.

^ I think dreamfarer means, mark 1 person in the mob, when they are killed, mark another, when killed, mark another, etc untill they're all dead. With alittle practice you can get really good at getting multiple healing from marking mobs.

Swallow soul works decent enough at a low level, combined with blood craze from DW and killer's blade (heals you if used to kill a target) until you unlock rally from 2H at higher levels. It's worth playing some PvP until you hit rank V to unlock the HoT vigor, rank V can come pretty quick too. At later levels you can also unlock reapers mark, if you tag a mob with this and kill them, you get a damage boost and a large HP return.

For resource sustain, siphoning attacks is really the way to go now for PvE sustain as a NB. It used to be a 2 bar toggle that reduced your outgoing damage, now it's a 1 bar buff with no penalty to your damage. If you combine this (not required, but helpful) with a good race for stamina, such as Redguard for the adrenaline rush passive or wood elf for the vigor passive, you can kiss sustain issues goodbye.

I am currently playing a Wood Elf and using pretty much all of those attacks bar swallow soul, i found that the heal it gives it just not worth it for the place it uses up on my ability bar. Just trying to figure out the best way for me to sustain, coming from playing a stam templar, watching my health is new to me haha

Thank you to both @ThatNeonZebraAgain and @starlizard70ub17_ESO - serial usage of Reaper's Mark (and combining the effect with Killer's Blade) was exactly what I meant there.

There is another source of sustain that rarely gets mentioned: Be a Master Alchemist and invest in the passive that extends potion duration. Having an additional 20% regen plus resource recovery and buffs ever 45 seconds can help a lot, and if you're gathering plants as you travel it's really easy to keep yourself supplied in potions with the "make 4 per batch" passive.

Well what I do for both pve and pvp is always cast up rally first, on pve though 2 additional buffs --> relentless focus + siphon attacks, then use BLUR this skill is so overlooked by most people. That 20% evasion really helps so much. You will dodge one in 5 hits (theoretically) plus the more the mobs the more you dodge. And whenever your hp drops top much swap bar and just use rally and vigor and continue the fight.

siphoning attacks helps with sustain, and one of the morphs lets it proc with all attacks.

    Cripple and Mass Hysteria

In PVE crippled can stun most adds for 30 seconds as long as you don't hit them again.

Mass Hysteria things running away from you feared can't hit you.

In PVP if you didn't kill your target after you marked it (armor debuf), 1 sec fuzzy stunned it with a skill that ignores line of sight and elevation checks and empowers you (surprise attack), feared it with one of the only cc's that go through block (mass hysteria), then hit it twice with one the single hardest hitting instant cancel able attacks in the game (surprise attack) which oh by the way gives major fracture debuff.

If all that didn't work, and you didn't surcumb to call of the cheese that is currently camo hunter whispering in your ear while your in stealth.

You just dark cloak up and run away, which by the way purges any status effect you didn't like along the way.

you can mark the opponent with the lowest health and upon his death mark the nextone. ;)
killerblade is a nice 20% heal aswell.
