Ignore and block.
Get a thicker skin? This is the internet?
I don't condone this at all but honestly if the big bad wolf stranger on a game is bothering you, don't let it?
Believe me, I can - and have - walked away. But seriously, if I have one final freakin quest to finish in a zone and I can't finish that quest because someone is literally screwing up my game - not just tossing out comments, but interfering with gameplay - then I need to log off and start the quest zone again??? And if I don't then I'm letting them bother me?
No. Wrong. Their conduct is interfering with gameplay. To be clear: I'm not talking about comments or even just gestures; this individual was literally preventing me from proceeding with the quest.
Sorry, @Troneon, my skin is thick enough.
IKR! They shouldn't be afraid to ban these harassers on the spot if they have repeated offences. Or maybe put them in a comepletely separate shard where they can't use text chat or emotes and NPCs won't talk to them.KramUzibra wrote: »

Agreed and likewise, happy that the people who choose ESO seem generally a better sort then those in... other games.By the way, I must say that this thread gives a pretty good idea of how great this game's community is. Many more posts here are offering sympathy to the OP and agreeing that harassment is bad instead of telling the OP that they shouldn't be so sensitive. It makes me happy.
I do have to draw the line at player-dispensed 'justice' though. I don't believe in players trying to troll or harassing harassers back if they are harassed themselves. They should just report, turn the other cheek and let the GMs do the rest.IKR! They shouldn't be afraid to ban these harassers on the spot if they have repeated offences. I agree, although I think they do ban people for harassment. Unless the people that go cry on the sub-reddit are lying about the reason for their ban. I mean, maybe they think that we will offer them more sympathy and join them on saying it is unfair if they say it was because of a "rude joke" instead of for, I don't know, botting or selling gold.

Do not, under any circumstance, interact with a troll. All you can do is report them and put them on ignore. Do not tell them you are ignoring them or reporting them, do not talk about them in zone chat, you just have to completely ignore them. Even the slightest interaction with them will cause them to double their effort to get attention. Report, ignore and move on.

Taking by all the posts I see on reddit of people annoyed because they were banned just for "fooling around", I imagine that reporting works.
Seems to be the new trend among younger people now a days. Its not Harrassment or Stealing or Assault. Its Pranks and Fooling Around. They didnt mean anything by it so they should get a pass.
Exactly! Don't be weak. Just block, report and ignore. It's life! People will talk ***, deal with it. If your an adult you should already be mature enough to know this.
If those rude young ones should get a pass ingame, why shouldnt it be the same for them here in the forums? Oh,absolutely!
Let them have their fun.Teach them its cool to attack and harrass someone.Suuuure,..why not. We give them everything else, why not a free pass on kindness, manners, and good behavior.
We need an unlimited ignore list with at least a few quarterly Phase Out Player allowances for the real *** out there.
Because you shouldn't have to play an old Argonian woman to get people to leave you alone.

No one cares and no one will help you. You're letting the troll win. This is not the pc real world.
Deal. With. It.

ESO isn't a subscription MMO, it's BTP. Second, I don't want ESO spending resources policing except in the most serious cases. Instead give us the tools to manage this ourselves. Trolls are NOT going away, but if we could visually ignore them (via software), we will win. Trolling becomes no fun. No one sees them, no one hears them, no one calls the 'cops'. They get NO attention for their actions. That's a WIN.
