WTF WTH more do you want people? THIEVES GUILD IS AWESOME. In TES games you can join or not. Do the same here, buy the dlc or not. This is an amazing dlc and DB is gonna be even better. Maybe it would be cool to join the antithieves guild but well...In TES games you cant and NOBODY blames.

And this is coming from a TES FAN who is playing ESO because of TES and just waiting for TESVI.

What do people want? It has TES in the title.People want more than you can imagine.

I know and Im one of those that said and thinks that TES is too much of a name for an mmo. Ive said this is even an aberration...but cmon...in some topics people is blaming for nonsense.

I knew this game was going to get resistance when a guy during beta wrote on their facebook page that he quit because he couldn't pause the game or manipulate the init file.

What they have shown looked a little underwhelming. But we will have to wait and see what comes next.

I have always played the same type of character in TES, and if Zenimax had bothered trying to follow the TES tradition with any degree of success, they would have realized that by releasing the next two DLCs with an exclusive focus on Thieves Guild / Dark Brotherhood membership, they are moving much more closely toward a scripted character storyline rather than an open-story world.

Apart from the main quest line (which has to be scripted to a large degree), TES has always had an open world where, if I wanted, I could be a thief or a Dark Brotherhood assassin, but I could also chose to fight or ignore those factions without significant loss of gameplay. Here, Zenimax is serving up the next half-year's worth of DLCs to only one side of the PvE community, which makes no sense when it could easily have made more money by incorporating two factions--one law/aedra oriented, and one lawbreaking/daedra-oriented--into each DLC.

I could understand your argument to a certain degree if you HADN'T compared it to other TES games. But this is absolutely no different so if you enjoyed them, you can do the same here.

Take Skyrim, for example. You can choose to ignore the Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood questlines there but in doing so, you are missing out on a ton of content. There are a lot of quests involved with interesting stories and rewards that you miss out on if you don't want your character to be a thief or assassin. Which is fine... but it is no different here. You can just choose to not buy the DLC and ignore the content the same as you did in previous TES games.

I personally am a casual gamer who doesn't give characters personalities, so things like this have never bothered me (though I have to admit, it always felt odd to have a sword-wielding knight type join the Mages' Guild). Sure, I currently don't do a lot of stealing on my characters (unless I spot a nifty motif in a dresser), but I'll join the Thieves' Guild for some new and fun quests on every character, and when I'm done the content they will go back to their mostly non-stealing gameplay because that is just how I play.

Wow people are really disliking the fact that zenimax is adding a thieves guild. [snip] is going on seriously guys.

I don't dislike the fact that they're adding it. I dislike the fact that it seems they're releasing it in such a way that I either have to be a member of the Thieves Guild or I essentially get nothing.

Just like when they added the "justice system", to the complete abandonment of the "justice" side of the system. If my choice is scripting my character into a fixed path (again, apart from the main quest) or de facto getting little-to-no content for the next 6-8 months, I'll go play something else.

Im sorry but isn't it already obvious? What elements of the game so far made you think otherwise. ESO is and always will be a themepark. Its nothing wrong with it per se but on the other hand it steps very far from what many people, me included love in TES game - a feeling of freedom, however illusionary feeling that might be.

There is no way back from fundamental game designs without fundamental changes - and dont count on those.

I look forward to it with the bit news i know of

    - i saw a guy climb on a crate so i hope for parcour (and roof climbing so i can be a cat burglar)
    - I saw a camel
    - Vet levels gone
    - Can to main quest up to killing molag balls and then go to other zones as a please (so without doing quests just exploring and get shards)
    - New zone with quest series and thieveguild quest series (and passives)
    - New costumes

    Now all we need is
    - a jail system
    - fixed lag
    - guild that collide (ie a thieveguild member cannot join fightersguild and vice versa and maybe mageguild collides with another guild perhaps DB or something)
    - Silt Strider mounts

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Don't pay attention to the tailors they made orsinium look good when it's just another bland zone of boring quests. I'm buying for the trial

I don't like that I must be a thief... There should be two story lines. One where you are a thief and one where you are part of the Iron Wheel fighting against the Thieves Guild.

As it stands now... I'm on the fence. My Thief character is like level 9... meaning... I don't really play that character.

Probably did it that way because they removed the PvP part of it. The Iron Wheel was most likely tied to the Justice System and they had no way of making it work after they removed the system. I'm not surprised at all that they decided to remove one of the story lines to fix "the problem".

Zenimax didn't surprise me by (apparently) limiting the new DLC to the law-breaking side of the story, but it is nevertheless a bad move on their part for the (seemingly) large minority of players who would rather be playing on the side of the law. This is especially ridiculous considering they even added a faction fighting against the Thieves Guild that "law-and-order" players could have joined instead.

For us, this DLC is essentially useless, and I certainly will not bother spending anything on it. Hopefully that's something that Zenimax will take into account for the Dark Brotherhood DLC (though I won't hold my breath).

I don't mind joining thieves guild, but i'd rather seek out and kill the dark brotherhood. They kill innocent people just because someone chants to their dead leader that they want this person killed. They killed a girl on her wedding day for gods sake.

    Hmmm..

I feel alot of you ppl say that you dont like the TG or DB.. because stealing and killing is wrong..

Then sorry to say this to you guys.. The world of Nirn meaning Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim and ESO is a very dark place..
thats how they make the games, even tho all of the Main quest in these games are Hero like, all of the side and small quest are very dark,
And TG and DB are one of the most loved guilds in Elders scrolls series.. so sorry to say this if you dont like the dark side of the Elder scrolls then you are playing the wrong game sorry..

It didn't really show much more than a few glimpses. Which makes me think they are either lacking stuff or they are trying to not have spoilers.

Personally Orsinium solo arena was terribly done, cheapy one shot mechanics and frustrating gameplay to push people to the crown store for exp scrolls for more easier time of it with CP or repair kits because people will need to repair a lot and waste gold.

Orsinium lacked heavily in multiplayer content...for an MMO thats terrible, no trials, no dungeons nothing, that was Orsiniums biggest weakness. Lack of group content. World boss's spamming skills in groups is not group content.

Having skills even if passive locked behind DLC is pathetic and they should be ashamed of that.

Thieves Guild DLC only has ONE trial? ONE, that is terrible, so again another solo DLC that lacks hugely in group content. This is frankly unacceptable for an MMO, sick of solo content. There is too much of it. WAY TOO MUCH SOLO CONTENT.

And again, no upscaling or VR16 boosted or updates to VR16 for Vet DSA, Craglorn, or any of the trails at VR14.....

Also dungeons are dropping VR14 gear at VR16....

So to be honest I am heavily disappointed with the Thieves Guild DLC and its not even out yet, now if they still have not fixed crashes, bugs, pvp lag, balance, skills etc etc

Then I wont even buy it. I am done at that point. If they keep designing content around pushing sales in the crown store with cheap mechanics and game design to push their sales of certain items....then im done with this game.

If I wanted that kind of trashy game I would play GW2.

Would it hurt if you add a 'in my opinion'? That way you would be acknowledging us, you know, the players who actually play and enjoy the game.

Everything on these forums is opinion.

Video was short and contained a bit of legerdemain and a couple of costumes.

    aka, more of the same.

I guess that solo pve'ers is their target audience. That is fine but then - why make it an MMO instead of TES 6 'with coop mode'? to fool mmo players into buying it?

    I was certainly fooled.

Damned combat is so much fun though. Game is still fun in spite of the last 12 months of changes. I would happily play the version of game from June 2014 in a heart beat.

I think it looked ok, I am more interested in the balances passes and the 64 bit client I think.
