The day before I had the best experience ever with the group finder. Yesterday couldn't get either pledge done. 3 times got into half beat regular dungeons and it wouldn't let me get anything after beating the last boss. 2 more times and couldn't beat the second boss with the group. A few times through CoA just could not get any traction. I knew it was gonna be bad when the first tiger mobs took 10 minutes to beat. Very frustrating.

With the release of Orsinium it works well IMHO. I admit, as a healer it is not that hard to find a group, but I always find a group within minutes.

And I don't think the group finder is to blame when a group doesn't succeed in finishing a dungeon. It's the people pushing the buttons.

In all fairness CoA has always been a struggle for PUGs. There is no voice chat in the game and many people are ufamiliar with the mechanics. You need people who know better than to stand in fire AoEs and you need a tank that can take a beating. I wouldnt' blame this on the group finder tool.
When was group finder ever good in the first place?
It never was until recently. Now you can actually get a full group pretty quickly and even mediocre groups can finish most dungeons. Some dungeons like CoA are just more challenging.

I had a bad experience last night using group finder. I don't usually use it, but I made a character in another faction and my friends all play in AD. The two dps in our group were obviously new players, which is fine, but the tank was obviously not. Anyway, the tank died, and after that he was generally just being a complete arse to them. It did take them a while to kill the bosses, but they were low level and new to the game, so it was to be expected.

I don't usually get angry with people in this game, but I hate to see people being bullied, and it was only normal BC for heavens sake! Luckily, the tank left the group and we got a new one who was far more patient with the new players, and was actually a much better tank. We finished the rest of the dungeon pretty quickly, leading me to belive that it was he who was holding us back in the first place

Frustrating that I couldn't beat the pledge because the group half beat dire frost keep before I got there. I know CoA is a crapshoot with group finder...it made a crappy nite of gaming. Lol

Ah yes, the group made up of the vr3 sorc healer, vr12 NB tank, and vr16 DK DPS type lobbies, my favorite.

going to use group finder today and have some fun

The only issue I had last night with the group finder was when I queued for CoA. But like I said that's always been a challenge for PUGs. Otherwise it hasn't been that bad for me. I wouldn't expect much from it, but if you don't feel like soloing and just want a group it works pretty well.

As a general rule I find that those who complain the loudest about the shortcomings of others are those who are trying the hardest to distract people from their own shortcomings. This applies in-game and in real life. So if someone is bitching and moaning about how bad the DPS are, or how bad the healer is, or how bad the tank is, odds are that player is a bigger problem than them.

Of course, the same doesn't hold true for constructive criticism and advice.

Group Damage is to blame.....good players don't want to join pug cause afraid of being judged by their group.

I had a very pleasant dungeon experience last night, thanks to the dungeon finder.

Everyone said "hi", and that was the end of the conversation until the "gg, thanks for the party" goodbyes. One person died, but was rezzed mid-fight, so nothing was lost.

The bosses took a little longer to beat than usual, but since I was tanking, that just meant more fun for me.

As a tank, I always use the dungeon finder -with queue time of less than 30 seconds it's faster than asking around in guild chat and I like to think I helped out some poor DPS who's been waiting an hour.

Dungeons are what you make them. Sometimes they're rough and you have to work really hard and other times they're a breeze and you wonder why the group even needed a tank at all.

I just don't bother with gold if it is WGT, ICD or COA. It never seems to ends well for pugs. I'm excited to see the grouping tool improvements are that are coming with thieves.

I thought it would be better than begging everyone in my guilds to run through it with me. Dire frost keep would have been fine if it would have started me in a group from the beginning.

First completed vet CoA at V1 groupfinder as a DPS. I was accidentally placed with a guildie, who didn't kick me despite a few attempts but slowly explained all the mechanics, we had problems with fire maw and the adds, initially trying to rush him. When we switched to killing adds tho, the fight was a breeze. Rest of the battles were straightforward once u know what you are doing, apart from maw, we probably died once to each boss just to learn the mechanics.

Today I played as a tank and am now the one explaining the mechanics (and being reminded of the mechanics). One of the player was a first-timer. This was the first time i'm tanking it but u do learn a lot by observation. Completed with 4 templars (by chance). At some point, all 4 of us were using spears at the same time when he jumped onto the second island. Too bad i missed the screenshot.

We didn't even fail once this run, i died once just before killing the last boss because i turned off the UI to take a nice screenshot :sunglasses:. wasn't as good as my other screenies. Got the helm today too (well fitted).

Group finder is fine, but if you are new to vet dungeoning and don't like failure, consider grouping manually and place lowest level player as leader.

Our group finder gave us a v3 tank last night. He did an amazing job. When he first entered the group, I had the 'ah ***' moment but we finished with only 2 wipes which were mainly because he has never done the dungeons before. I think the hardest group members to find are dps. Ive gotten some dps that are doing 4k and it just doesn't work.

going to be really hard to find a good group for v16 city of ash in the group finder. its one of the harder dungeons.

I think the OP may not recognize this....the tool is working just fine, but people....tools can't repair or fix them.
Also, the in-game doesn't have vids to watch for strategies so its going to be a learning curve.

I did both and didn't get credit for either due to the bugs where quest progression didn't occur. Thats not a grouping tool problem either.....SMH but frustrating.

They should always have a dead body in some shady corner in every dungeon in the room before the boss holding a note describing how to beat the bosses. If you can't beat the boss, just backtrack and find the clue.

Don't have a problem with using group finder outside of COA,WGT,or ICP got bored one day and decided to try vCOA got put in a group they had been stuck on the Titan for an hour beat it in the first attempt they got disheartened and quit on skoria then got kicked from a group the other day on BC because apparently I was supposed to tank even though I queued as dps & didn't tank any other boss i think the group leader was salty since he was getting 1 shot by every boss

Yes this is another issue I have brought up. In other MMOs you will get an "Are you sure you want to proceed" message pop up in you enter the dungeon with bosses already defeated and then then your quest will be updated to include what the group has already killed.

I managed to do it on group finder on PS4 NA. COA we spent soooo long on the last boss. I was DPS our other dps... he was telling me how he was wearing a 5 piece kargrenacs hope all heavy with all health enchants and the rest Magus heavy as a magika NB. I was wondering why our dps was lacking so much. Had to go for silver key because we couldn't burn the boss with 3 platforms. Barely did it with 5. I was nice didn't even poo poo his advice that i gear up like him. I prefer my Julianos with 42k magika

Nothing I love more than finishing those harder dungeons with inexperienced players. Their reactions usually remind me of how happy I was when I first completed them.
Since most of PVE is too easy now, I miss that feeling and get to experience it through other people from time to time.

@kylewwefan and @Decayed_Inside just in case you don't know this ...you can abandon the quest, and go back to your capital city and pick it up again, get in a new group and finish the dungeon and get your goldkey from vet pledge and silver key from normal pledge.

vCOA can be done with 7k dps per damage dealer, sustained - however it is best to have 13k+ to get it done within one hour. (goldkey is impossible with less than 12k dps, as endboss achievement is a dps check.).

vWGT/vICP can be done with 13k dps per damage dealer, sustained - however it will take 15k+ to get it done within one hour. (goldkey is obtainable with 13k dps, however you will probably not get it - because the lower damage you have, the more you have to deal with mechanics and it will wear your team down, make you tired, frustrated etc.)
