About transferring alliance;

So, my favourite of my characters is my healer and he is 'blue'. My nightblade is 'yellow'.

I was in three dagger fall guilds, with my home campaign set to Azura, and in two Dominion guilds with my home campaign set to Haderus.

So I was playing away today and bam, I was booted from the 'Blue' guilds for encountering 'blue' players as they guested in my 'yellow' campaign.

This is beyond ridiculous in my opinion. When I started the game, I didn't know Cadwells silver and gold existed: I assumed I would need three characters to experience the whole story. And now I'm being booted for it..

I think there should be an option to change alliance. Perhaps, one per account per month, or even a crown purchasable transfer. Somehow to stop people jumping ship to a winning campaign, but I really think it should be implemented.

    If they ever do that, you would probably be required to have completed every quest in the game so as to not confuse the system.

    How did you get booted from 3 guilds at once though?

    Also, the cooldown would have to be at least 12 months on another change.

    I think every zone quest has to be completed /ep/dc/ad then cadwell asks if you want to switch alliances but it should only be a one time thing. Only way i could see it working without messing up the lore too much.

    So, exactly how is your circumstance different enough from those recounted in the previous threads about this, spanning the entire stretch of time since PC launch, such that it requires an entirely new thread on the subject?

    Yeah, this would have been VERY handy for me early-game. I've deleted and re-rolled probably about 4 characters for the chance to play with certain groups of friends, and for quite a while post-release I was under the impression you only got to do the questline of whatever alliance you had picked... I now know that is NOT the case :D

    For it to be implemented, it'd have to be very limited and have certain prerequisites. All lore/alliance quests would have to be completed, and I think if it was to ever become an option, that you could only do it ONCE, otherwise you'd have 20% of the ESO population re-rolling to be with whatever alliance was winning at any given time.

    Sounds like the type of guild you could do well without IMO

    I can only assume that as they were all Azura based that the leaders co-operate and chat.

    I agree there should be an option to switch alliances.

    But I also think this is in-part a communication issue within the guilds. If they take PvP seriously enough that they would kick someone on sight for playing with another alliance they should make that clear when recruiting.

    I made no secret of the fact that I have characters in all 3 alliances and I play them all regularly when I was looking for guilds, but then I'm also a PvE player who rarely goes to Cyrodiil at all and was specifically looking for casual friendly guilds, so I imagine it was less of an issue for them.

    personally I think you should have to choose your alliance and have it carry across ALL of your characters. What is the point of having alliances and an alliance war of anyone can just switch sides any time they want? I think there should be an option to switch alliances but with a heavy penalty. I have seen too many reds making blue toons and spying out locations for his buddies he is in chat with to attack. At this point pretty much everyone has access to the "any race any alliance" pack so race should be a non-issue. Alliances should be account wide, not character specific.
