I have 150mbs and I rarely ever experience lag issues. I see so many complaints and wonder if people need to tune down graphics or get better service.

i don't have lag often, but when i do, its happening to other adjacent players of the same team.

Playing from singapore and usually have consistent 250 ping with 9999 spikes occuring in certain times during PVP. There's some association with lightning spells.

When it comes to lag I have noticed next to nothing, granted there are instances where it can get a bit choppy but that's rather rare. When it does get a bit choppy it's usually in PVP where I'm taking part in a larger battle, or being in a rather large group going from place to place in Cyro. For PVE though I think I had it once about a year ago but since then nothing.

I'd also say that add-ons and graphics may also impact lag. I have everything on max with around 5 add-ons in use.

Not much lag, except for one laggy campaign.

I lagged when I had 150mb/s service and my BFF lags with 250mb/s service. This is in Cyrodil of course.

Never really lag anywhere else unless server has hiccups.

    I game on an:
    i7 950 (sometimes OC'd to 4.2ghz)
    12gb RAM
    GTX970ME
    Installed on 850SSD

A more important question would be WHERE do you live?? Most of the lag I experience is from ZOS to me, not the other way around. I have NO control over that part of the internet. My internet speed means nothing either.

Example: Just this weekend, in a group dungeon with friends on TS. Lags for me gets so bad everything but me freezes on the screen. I keep dropping heals, and my friends on TS tell me they are getting them right when I "send" them. Nothing changes on the screen. Then 30 or 90 secs later the whole battles plays out in rapid succession on my screen. All the time TS was current and my keyboard commands were current, BUT My screen was behind.

This has nothing to do with my internet, nor my PC. This is the internet path from ZOS to me.

    over 100mb down, 20mb up, using a cat6 cable.

6 core processor, GTX960 4gb, 8gb ram. I run the game on high settings, get constant 60 fps (vsync on) and 60 ping on average in pve zones. I also live in the same state as the megaservers.

I go to Azura's Star and my ping immediately goes over 100. During primetime it hovers between 240 and 999+, sometimes it stays over 400 during large scale keep sieges, regardless of where I am on the map.

The only time bandwidth affects ping is when there isn't enough of it, games run fine on even a 5Mbps connection.

What does affect ping is distance, path taken, line connection type (Copper, fibre, coax, wireless), and all the equipment and line types from your premises to the destination.

As for ESO, I consistently run 10ish add-ons on ultra settings getting 50+ FPS and only encounter lag when there's large fights going on, which is server side lag.

1.5 Mbps here. I lag all the time. Mostly due to the fact it's a shared connection. I live way out in the sticks (USA), so I only have access to one lousy provider (CenturyLink). It really sucks though because less than two miles down the road a friend has access to a 10 Mbps connection. :rage:

I feel you man. I left my gig life for a bigger yard in the middle of no where and centurylink cuts their DSL off 2-3 miles down the road. I game off my unlimited data with Verizon now.

100+ mbs and literally the moment one player character pops onto my screen casting a spell my latency jumps to 999+ and I hose up... this is the only game this happens in, and I play several mmo's.

Edit: I wonder if this has to do with all the add-ons we run. I'm going to try running the game w/o any adds and see what happens.

I recently did some tests in Cyrodiil with some network traffic software. I ran to find the largest zerg I could and participated in skill spamming for a solid 15 minutes.

What I found was that total network traffic received never exceeded around 60KB/s (which would be around one third of your 1.5mb/s speed), but the server was still lagging out at a 400-800 ping rate (usually around 80-100 for me).

What this means is that even with your lower internet speed, you should still be able to play the game just fine. It is not your connection speed. It is the servers not giving you information fast enough.

    It is known.

Aye, that's some great information. Thanks for testing and sharing.

I can confirm ESO runs fairly well under specific conditions. Under those conditions, my ping sits at around 200ms and is stable. However, my connection is shared with YouTube and Facebook junkies. This creates an inherent issue where lag is caused by my connection being oversaturated. At that point, my speed is the bottleneck unfortunately. And I'm sure it doesn't help that I live approximately 1500 miles away from ESO's servers.

I have fast Internet connection, but my experience is more like a slideshow around keeps under attack. Mainly due to crappy PC, but also sometimes I see very high latency spikes.

When there is lag in areas with more than 5 or 6 enemies, my abilities seem to become queued, so it appears I'm still alive and then suddenly I die when my client catches up to what is happening in the game.
