ZOS are you aware that you can release Patches without releasing a DLC right?

Im not sure if anyone at the company knows this judging by how every big update only releases when a new DLC releases...

I just want to see regular server maintenance, like they promised us they would do at launch every Monday. Each week that goes by makes the matter worse and worse. Just do maintenance. Please do maintenance.

They could also patch content before they released it, but the Bethesda staff seem to be adrenaline junkies and like nothing more than putting defective content into the wild then rushing to fix it. Oblivion...fallout 3...new Vegas...skyrim...ESO...seeing a pattern emerge.

Warframe used to have this problem until they added in an internal patch system, i believe that allowed them to hotfix very quickly after that.

What i find very amusing... Sony/Microsoft go through the certification process on console to make sure the patches Zos put's out are as stable as possible. However i still blue screen on a very consistent bases. I wish i had the number's for world wide crashes on ps4, i bet it's more then battlefield 4... and that's saying something.

It's because at the end of the day, they only care about one thing: money. The people at Bethesda and ZOS are no different than manufacturers/producers of any other good/service. They do it solely because there is demand and money to be made.

I'd wager there are VERY few people working at ZOS who actually cherish and take pride in the game they have produced. To most of them, it's a paycheck.

I don't think that the OP has paid any attention to the game. ZOS does release patches without the DLC. We had on this past Monday. If you are wanting the big stuff, that is the DLC patch.

I think the OP is unaware that some people take vacation time in December.
Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

    Guessing here....

Maybe they are only releasing game fixes as patches but otherwise trying to keep patching aligned with consoles no more than 1-2 weeks apart. We missed the December patch so maybe they are slowing down due to that and holiday

    Again....guessing

Well, NOT maintaining THREE servers is much more difficult than maintaining ONE.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Yes, but most of them make sure they didn't unfinished work and projects left on the table during that period.

It's an MMO... it will always be unfinished! ;)

And back to the OP... they do patch regularly... usually every week or two, and some do have bigger changes, other smaller changes. They covered off why they don't do 100's of smaller hotfixes all the time in a previous ESO live.... something to do with having to create a whole new build each time & it being inefficient & having a bigger knock on effect on the overall dev schedule.

If they keep to the 1 DLC every quarter then that seems pretty reasonable for major changes.

If you were to have big patches every week then it would be impossible to balance, tweak, and evaluate the results of those changes. Once every 12 weeks feels pretty ok when looking at the big picture. (As much as all of us, me included, want everything done yesterday! ;)

we are not talking about balance changes.. we are talking patching out right broken parts of the game.... I have been with out working in game friends list for over a month.. many others have been with out since the last DLC content patch... and yet no patch to fix it.. hell cant even get them to address it.

Your logic is flawed, please reverse the polarity of the neutron flow. They don't only release big updates when they release DLC, they only release DLC when they release big updates.

Since launch, it has looked like this:
    • Patches: Bug fixes, minor gameplay improvements.
    • Updates: New gameplay systems, new content.
Patches occur every other week or so. Updates occur according to the Update Release Schedule, which was "every 6 weeks" before TU, and "one per quarter" after TU.

When it was pay to play we had incremental patches (just like now, for bugfixes) and monthly or bi monthly updates, with sometimes new content or gameplay updates (class balancing, DK nerfing).
When it went buy to play they said that all big updates would be released quarterly and incremental patches would be released when needed... and they have been doing exactly that for now.
