Why banned for buying and selling nirn?

Could someone throw some light on why a fellow guildmaster might have his account suspended for 'monopolising the trade of nirn' ?

WTF?
Remember red = dead and a dead dd deals no dps.

Yeah same. How could you get banned for that? Entire Craglorn is filled with nirn nodes, just go farm. Must be more to it than just reselling nirncrux.

Seriously? They created a free market now they want to ban people for being entrepreneurs? Even if he bought every nirn on the market and re-listed higher that's within his rights

If he's the guy responsible for all Nirn weapons being sold for 26K in every guild in the game I find it hard to pity him.

Why do people get punished for reading instructions and learning mechanics of things? This is why I am reluctant to L2P because I could get banned for it or something could get nerfed because of me :s

dunno much about the market, but if the above issue is true, that might be the reason - if you have a single player that somehow colluded with or manipulated other guilds into price fixing for a particular commodity, you effectively have one person exploiting other people into dominating the market in a fashion in which the designers may not have intended.

of course, that's a lot of guessing, but it is *one* possible explanation. It's entirely possible that the devs are attempting to enforce a free-market (as much as any free market can be *enforced*) spirit, if, again, the above assumption about this person's effect on the market is accurate

again, just a guess - but since you asked for a possible reason...

You have that in every free market. When special editions of game release what happens? People buy them all up and re list for high on ebay/amazon. I see nothing different here. L2Buisness

    Ya think!?!?!?!

There is unlimited nirn. You can't control the market. You would have a hard time even affecting it.

I would bet there is. If he cornered the whole nirn market, he must've made lots of gold. With so little to spend it on, maybe he went IRL entrepreneur and started selling in-game gold for cash, which is definitely against the rules.

As an aside, I despise "market players". Yes, it's legitimate as the game stands now, but it was clearly not intended (no central auction house was supposed to prevent this to some extent). And it can hurt the game badly by driving inflation to a point where new or more casual players don't have a chance to buy any of the high-demand stuff.

I'd like to see ZOS put some sort of timer for relisting items bought through guild stores, that way you only buy what you're actually going to use.

I'm with timid, there's no way ZOS would ban someone for playing the market. I know people who do this every day, even done it myself in a couple of limited instances. The person in question may claim that Nirn trading was why he was banned, but I bet there's more to this story that they're not telling.

From other ban complaints on the forums I didn't think ZOS actually gave the reasons that they banned people.

If he was one of those "special" individuals going to every guild store re-buying certain items (like nirn or columbine) then relisting them at a fixed price, then I am glad he is banned.

This is not Elder Wolf of Wallstreet Online. If you want to manipulate online commodities, go play EVE.

There are some people in this game that don't even play it. They have 5 guild stores and all they do is manipulate prices. I am glad ZOSE is finally cracking down on them.

    They are cancer.

I've seen so many cheaters/hackers/bot users since beta I wouldn't be surprised.

I've seen numerous scamp and chest farming bots in IC sewers just recently.

No central auction house was a lazy, silly solution. What person won't travel around the entire world if they can corner the entire market and make tons of gold? Not really a deterrent to make it multiple places it just makes it more time consuming. The same can be said about buying what it is you want. Now you have to travel all over to find the item you want unless you get lucky. And guess what? The guy manipulating the market can do that too it's easy make two sweeps a day and the majority goes to you. Let the stuff you miss go out low it won't for long once the prices start going up from your manipulation

There is almost certainly more to the story than this. ZOS likely have proof of collusion between players or guilds to limit supply or not compete. Those are violations of free market principles and thus likely violations of the Terms of Service.
