Decided to bring him out of retirement and change him from a 2h/bow to s+b/2h so i can escape that broken wb spam meta that stam dk's seem to be doing.

Problem is i'm on console and as my dmg comes from la/ransack/bash when i bash i have to hold block for half a second meaning i don't regen stamina.

This means i hav serious stamina issue despite the fact i have 1900 regen and i'm using ransack....? That costs like 1k per cast.

Hoping you theory crafters out there can help me overcome this as i don't want to have to spam wb as it's boring op and broken at the moment.

There's a key bind for "Interrupt" which results in a bash. You don't need to be blocking for this.

Edit: just saw you're on console, bad luck I guess

You can focus on cost reduction and weave in heavy attacks for Stamina recovery that is unaffected by blocking. That should cut down on the Stamina consumption of the combo.

Heavy attacks is a dps loss though i'd do more dmg with wb then.

Ultimately you use Bash canceling for burst damage, it's not sustanable with 100% usage. Regardless of console or pc, blocking even for a moment will stop stamina regen. If you don't want to use Wrecking Blow, then use Light Atack, Ransack, Bash and rotate between skills like Reverbating Bash, Unstable Flame, Burning Breath, and Heroic Slash. The trick of a build like that is learning when to burst and when to stop using bash to regain stamina. Engine Guardian or Bloodspawn 2pc can help with sustain. I also know DKs whose successfully use 1pc Molag Kena and 1pc Bloodspawn on that kind of setup. Then a few bold and daring indivduals who use 2pc Molag Kena. A high cost Ult like Corrosive Armor is helpful for the stamina return as well.

The set up you're using is very viable with Bash cancels for burst damage, it's just a matter of building a bar with skills to rotate between, and learning to manage resources.

Yeah i do la, ransack, bash but when you block on console you stop regen stamina.

It's a bit annoying that you can't remap it.

Sadly looks like i'm going to have to stop playing it and put my dk in retirement, no matter what i do even with 2.5k regen i still have issues because by stamina will not regen when bashing.

Though thank you zos for your terrible contol mapping on the ps4,

'lets add a 0 regen penalty when blocking' but then lets force people to block first when they dodge roll and bash, what a terrible blanket nerf that doesn't even stop the perma blocking it was suppose too.
