I would love to have player housing. This MMO has all the things I love about others with the notable exception of housing. When/if it gets added, I'll be able to uninstall all the other MMOs cluttering my hard drive, because I can get everything I enjoy out of just one.

Id be cool with the ability to own instanced land and build a home be locked behind ESO+... as long as everyone else can buy pre-built homes and apartments in cities without ESO+.

No. Lock it behind Group PvE. You won't be able to get your own house unless you completed all hardmodes and timed runs in all trials and dungeons, including no death runs.

Well if they do a housing system the easiest way is to make it liker swtors system, that you travel to your house or area and build were you want to put stuff. Like for example, you place your coffin in the bedroom closet near the bed were you can sleep in or you can have bedrooms each with there own coffin for vampire players or whatever you wish to put in for decerations or furniture then an invite to your place option for other players to join you. You could have up to like a very large group enter if you wish or limit it to so many as say twenty people and have the option to have it open for others as well. Like for rpers wanting places to go they select the rp instanced place in the options menu for open houses and go to rp in them

But they would be forced to make it an instanced system you just can't build a house anywhere like skyrims hearthfire dlc. They can't just add certain plots of land to build on, they would have to do the instanced system of taking you somewhere in the middle of no where with someplace not in the game.They would not have that hard system of building everything from the ground up maybe but they would have preset building shapes and probaly require some materials to build inside decorations. But limitations would force them to keep it where it does not overload the server. Plus the lag it might add if they added housing for everyone thats another thing to consider they would have to make their servers bigger then they are.

Never understood the point of player housing...can someone explain? Can play Skyrims housing thing....it's a single player aspect of the game that I don't think is relevant for an MMO.

Some people like working on their own place in the game. It all depends on how well they implement it.

Some games work in things like storage outside of banks, crafting stations, etc.

It's an immersion thing. There is a significant portion of players of these types of games that like to get really invested in the world and enjoy content that makes them feel as though their characters actually live in it. For some of us, while we love the monster slaying and gathering of goodies, that's only one aspect of the game. We actually like to play as though our characters really live there. Hard to do without housing.

This is why I don't really have a problem with it being DLC as long as you can bring anyone you are grouped with into your home with you.
