It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who come to the forums who have a highly unreaslistic 'I want it now & to work perfectly forever' attitude. & just don't have the first idea of how servers etc function
1. They didn't PLAN to take it down at primetime.... so stop saying its crazy that they did.
2. They had an serious issue to resolve which requires a reboot.... newsflash: ESO runs on computers... Reboots are a fact of life & will happen occasionally.
3. You may not have seen whatever the issue was while you were running around in deshaan or wherever... but nobody here is running their servers... they can see whats really going on with the server, we can't.... so many keyboard server tech's out there!
4. It's only down an hour or so... if you want an ESO fix go watch one of @Alcast s fantastic vMSA youtube vids or something that he's put a lot of time & effort to make!
5. I can count on one hand the number of non-scheduled maintenances in the two years the game's been running... that's pretty good, and not happening 'All the time' as others are dramatizing on here.
Rant over!
So . . . You'd rather they didn't fix it? Irrespective of whether they broke it or not.
It's not my job to find a solution that won't make ppl mad. They should have their own ppl for that.
Not what I asked
I didn't notice any problem when I was on, so I guess the fix could wait a few hours. But as I said, I'm not the one paid to figure stuff out for ZOS.

A lot of people are frustrated with how both the infrastructure and the developement of the game is going.
A lot of stuff goes unfixed for many months at a time.
On top of that this is the second time servers go down today.
I can understand why you are writing this and I see how you're just trying to be rational about it.
The truth is though, these posts come at a faster and faster pase now than they did half a year ago because they are a symptom of a community where a lot of people are getting tired of ZOS's way of handling things, or they lack of action.
I am one of those people...
While I do agree that a lot of the outbursts aren't warranted in the specific situation, they are definately warranted as a sign on how people feel about the developement of the game.
I know developers and server technicians are not the same guys, but they all work at or for ZOS, and ZOS is the target of complaints here.
I think it is totally understandable that people feel this way, and I think it is solely on ZOS.
A lot of times people are self-entitled ***, but the increasing amount of rage on forums lately is more than that.
It's a sign that ZOS is not living up to their job at maintaining the game within certain areas.

'Quick update: We are continuing maintenance on PC EU, and expect it to last roughly another couple hours.'
