After I heard about the removal of the vet ranks.(Which is not needed in any way) I am sick of playing PvP and lagging because ZOS can't fix there servers or what ever is making the issues. I lost two Cold Stone Trebs the other day because of this crap. Which I want back do to the issues ZoS knows exist but does nothing about. Oh wait I did read they are thinking of ways to split up groups so there isn't so many ppl in one place!! LMMFAO. Here is an idea!! Move Imperial City's to there own servers. What I mean is get it out of PvP. No damn reason for the city to be there. Hell you can't even keep that running anyway. Unless it has been finally fixed. I know that won't fix the PvP issues but at least if I do what to run the Imperial City, maybe I can if its moved and FIXED!

    2. IC should definitely have it's own queue(s)/population and be separate from overworld Cyrodiil. However, as it stands it's not contributing to the overworld lag in any way.

    ZOS owes me like 400g for getting me stuck and making me pay for it.

    This weekend I SOMEHOW ended up underneath Nikel and could not get out.

    Can't wait for vet ranks removal. Far as Cyrodiil/IC goes, well...don't think there's anything to say there. Doesn't look like ZOS is capable of fixing it.

    Oh I agree on the splitting up groups. I thought is was funny. It's in the developer comments if you want to look at it. The only reason I am really saying move the Imperial City is so the Serwer runners won't take up space that's not needed

    1. to have two parallel systems which increase the power of a character by miles, makes it rather difficult - if not impossible - to balance PvE content properly to all existing players....but ok, does not interest a PvPer. Those type of players start to cry on the forums if tanks become unkillable...
    2. you are able to have multiple chars without needing much time to grind.
    3. The CP system as a secondary character progression system is far superior for long time motivation. It gives much more opportunities for builds and specialization.

    Your concerns about lag in PvP have been acknowledged and is currently being worked on. I read a post from one of the devs about it over Christmas, but I believe the meat of the subject in question is to do will all the calculations the server has to make for everyone in the server and they are working on a way to streamline it all.

    I don't think removing IC from the campaign server would make much difference, the cap of players in the campaign is the same either way.

    I'm looking for the post/thread now that mentions it. I'll add the link in an edit when I find it.

    The IC runs in it's own instance so I am not sure if anything that happens in there affects anything else in Cyrodiil, other than pop caps for getting into the main zone.

    Lulz. So much lulz! I remember a Pos game from Korea called Pandora Saga. Horrible game, I mean HORRIBLE! If you wanted a true definition of pay to win cash grab free to play game, Pandora Saga was it.

    I mention that because that game had 3 way pvp just like eso. Except it had 1k vs 1k vs 1k. That was the limit. Wanna know the funny part? Everyone was spamming skills like crazy, the game was HORRIBLY coded, and yet SOMEHOW their pvp never lagged even when all three factions were fighting over the last capture point....... 3k people in one place spamming skills with MAYBE 20 increased ping and 5 fps drop leaving me at 55 fps.

    Yet somehow ZoS, with their most expensive mmo ever built, can't seem to get their pvp server to not lag LULZ!!!!! The lulz this brings me.

    I tried to convert a buddy to eso after Pandora Saga shut down (6 year run for that game) and he tried it. Leveled up. Pvp'ed with me, and when we started lagging with just 12 people fighting each other, he quit. He loves eso more than PS, but the lag was so bad everytime we tried to pvp that he just said F eso and I don't blame him.

    Having it's own instance doesn't mean that it has it's own server. I don't know the hardware set up for ZOS and something like that is a closely guarded secret, no company in their right mind is going to tell a potential hacker what is lying beyond the router.

    Worst case scenario is that ZOS have 2 powerful servers, one for EU and one for NA. Looking at the length of downtimes, I'd say this isn't the case.

    Nobody is perfect ya know. If everybody was perfect life would be real boring. The same goes for game companies none are perfect. One game company prioritizes performance over graphics while another prioritizes graphics over performance.

    ZoS is mostly in between, Except pvp lag, but like I said no one is perfect. No one can make the perfect game. If they did it would not be unique. ESOTU on all platforms is unique in its own way. There is also; world of tanks, the new naruto game coming out in feb, Black ops 3, fallout 4, The list goes on and on. Every game has a unique feature the other one doesn't.

    Are you saying the the lag in this games pvp is the same as others with the same style pvp? I laugh at your statement. The lag here is far worse than Warhammer Online has ever had and that was 10 years ago.

    Two things I read....
    1. VR level removal
    2. PvP lag and PvP content placement as you feel it contributes to lag


    Responses:
    1. VR removal is definitely needed. Just the basic context of doing group dungeons or PvP campaigns without VR levels removes complexities that are causing problems and confusion. I think we all understand numeric leveling, but there is a lot of QnA around VR, CP and how those relate to content. Just from the forums and in-game chat, we all see that there is a lot of confusion on the player side.
    2. This is being addressed as an ongoing topic and area of focus for ZOS. The larger issue seems to be along the lines of the servers so any ideas to completely remove solo and PvE related content out of PvP zones seems like it should help...but we don't know. I believe we can all envision Cyrodil as faction based PvE only with no PvP content as well as Imperial City but this would come with the absence of Tel Var stones and AP and those PvP skill lines. I'd like this but the forums share mixed reactions....


    My personal desire would be @ZOS_RichLambert @ZOS_KaiSchober
    1. Remove VR levels from player characters and NPCs as well as gear and to not associate CP with anything other than how it works today.
    2. Gear progression for VR1 and above.....very simply, the game can use the motif idea for the proficiency of each individual character. This would be a purple consumable item that is BoP, which unlocks the ability to wear each higher tier of materials. Considering this progression of mats exists already this drop would work for wearing and crafting thus removing the CP require of gear and maintaining the gear progression and value of VR1 - VR16 items.

    As far as how to address characters with existing gear, just let everyone keep what they have with the same stats and all "NEW" drops would fit into this new motif concept with higher stat values. The motifs would also fall in what we now consider VR zones from mobs or chests and follow the same zone concepts that were established with VR levels as gear requirements but the new requirements would be these new types of motifs.

    For PvP.....basically just keep Cyrodil and IC but have a campaigns for each with lower max slots, but more campaigns with the removal of all PvE caves, quests, NPCs.
    The campaigns would have MEGA (what we have now), Large, and small where the smaller campaigns would only last for 1 day and a few hours but differ in size and number of keeps and not include Imperial City. Imperial City only small campaigns would also exist.

    Really? Then you are completely unaware of the issues it causes and the massive impact it has on alt creation and player retention. It divides the player base into little chunks and kills the social experience of a game trying to be an mmo and emulate TES games.

    Vet levels is one of the biggest issues this game has. It is entirely separate from the lag issues and those lag issues are being worked on as well. Prove that additional content development is hindered by lag issue in Cyrodiil? Do you think animators, zone creators, artists and others who are not actual net engineers can solve the lag issues? They should take a vacation because the SMALL percentage of players who pvp vs pve want fixes?

    Your post comes across more as whining than a request to resolve a specific issue.

    I played Warhammer Online from beta to shutdown and never experienced the lag like TESO. I also played Battleground Europe in it's heydays and the huge battles never lagged for me.

    No... if you claim you will make a game with huge AvAvA battles you have to make sure it works. And it does work for TESO. It did until somewhere something went wrong. We used to have huge battles without (or minor) lag. I heard it all goes well on the non-vet campaign. But this dazzles me. Even a lvl 40 can have all the AOE skills if he leveled it very early. So it's not the lighting patch, it cannot be weapon skills. I bet it's the alliance skills, mageguild skills ad fighterguild skills.

    Only way to fix these issues is small scale pvp and individual pvp instances like wow's. But zos soooooo stubborn about this.

    We need battle grounds 10vs10 15vs15 20vs20 25vs25 other than this wont fix anything in cyrodiil its a lost cause period.

    IC probably helps create less lag.

    If pop lock were all zerging it would be laggier.

    Currently, some of the pop lock are in their own instance and not zerging in proper Cyrodiil.

    My big problems with with veteran rank removals will be all that content that will not be needed example the cadwells silver and gold I mean who is gonna bother why not go straight to end game aye. IC and wrothgar FTW, also I can only imagine the cluster *** the hud is gonna become level 50 50000 health 301 champion points bit annoying rly and I can only imagine how hard it will be to scale per point also what will happen to all those points you earnt the cap at the moment is 501 I hear its going to be 160 10 per vet level what happens to the left overs? i'm not the best informed on the matter but atm I stand firmly against this idea like I have heard so many times before why fix something that isn't broken just seems like lazy people wanting to be lazier then an actual reason.

    Umm nothing is being removed, the name is changing. A side affect of this minor change will mean that Alts will be brought up to the same level as your highest character.

    2) PvP lag.

    I doubt it is actual crap code like many say, Zenemax are up there with the best producers in the world and they would hadly invest the cash they have to the extent they have on a duff product.

    Prior to going B2P the game seemed far less laggy. It may be the introduction of anti-cheat code that fubared things, more likely that without a subscription from the players, there is less money comming in to pay for the server farm.
    Normally these things are rented out per CPU so most likely a large number of CPUs were turned off in order to save cash.

    Hence performance issues.

    That's not a plus. That tells me the players who don't have a Vet16 won't have to grind or work to get to Vet16. Also this 70 champion point to cover the whole account is so not even close to what some players should be receiving. Also do you really believe that nothing will change except the number you rank is? I hope you are right. I don't see it. They have not done one update or DLC that has worked yet. So until than, they should just use the KISS system.

    The code is probably fine for the time it was initially tested (taking into account number of people, gear, skills, character strength, x,y and z), but look at what has happened since then. We've had VR introduced and increased, CP introduced and reduced, new skill lines, new gear, new effects, more players, changes in what skills do.

    However, fair point. Maybe it is a hardware issue, but is it a case if not enough CPUs or the technology is not quite where the game is. Guild Wars 2, DC Universe Online and Eve all use the Megaservers, all of them have issues concerning lag. Eve slowed down combat just so the server could keep up.

    Okay....if you're going to form an argument, at least make sure your information even make sense. So here is what I'm getting:

    any reference to the game WoW is just plain and simple stupid.

    ESO even with the problems it currently has is 100 times the game WoW ever was, it was a child's game for children.

    As there was some so called adults in that game and they still haven't grown up.

    Quit whinning have some fun or QUIT :)
