Are you satisfied without a player wide auction house?

  • TortUred_mAlice

    If we have no universal selling feature (Auction house, Grand Exchange...) and no text chat, we should at least be able to use Quick Chat...

    Selling/Buying...
    -Armour
    -Materials
    --> Racial Motifs
    --> Breton
    Price...
    00(5)
    -->G
    -K
    -M

    How hard is it to even add this? You can't even use these forums for selling... And no, I'm not signing up to somebody else's unofficial custom forum to sell things, this should have been done by Zenimax themselves.

    All I need is a certain motif, to complete my collection, and I just found one worth about twice the amount. Can't use it because I already know it, tried selling it, the right market isn't easily accessible to take it, can't sell it on forums because Da Rules. It's like we're all just mute-mules.

    We don't need an auction house. We just need a list that let us know where we can buy what we need. Just put in the game a NPC that show the whole database.
    I would be okay with that actually.

    I did come up with this though. Why not just have a neutral marketplace where players of all factions can come together in a safe zone where all of the guild stores have their own stalls lined up. I am sick and tired of having to travel around into different loading screens to buy things. I would still rather have a auction house yet at the same time I know they will never do it. So this is my compromise.

    I like Auction house better sell without having to be there. I like playing ESO not playing an open market simulation.

    You can really tell the successful guild traders and the normal people who find the whole process to be a pain in the ass apart here. Almost as if only the people who have profited from this system support it. Crazy eh?

    they could enable the guild store functionality for the mages and fighters guilds , accessed by going to the respective guilds quartermaster . this would provide a strong competition for the various trade guilds , and it would put a broad based goldsink in the game since all fees would be gold removed from the game. ZOS could have the NPC guild stores only sell items that are zone appropriate (i.e. items that fall with in the zones level limits ).

    a much less pleasant option would be for ZOS to set it up so that once a guild has had a trader they have to rotate through all of the other traders before they can get that first trader again , this would force the larger trade guilds out to the traders in the boon docks and allows the smaller guilds a chance at the traders in the prime trade locations .

    While nothing should stand in the way of capitalism in its nearly perfect form, it is really annoying having to check 9 different load screens worth of npcs to find what I want.

    My limited time is more valuable to me. The more time I waste trying to spend gold the less time I have to make it.

    Honestly, I don't really even bother with the current guild auction system. I hunt down the things I want myself lol. I would prefer a more universal system, but I understand that the separate shops add an element of "sandbox" to the game so I'm conflicted on it. Still, it's not a very appealing system the way it's currently set.

    Be careful what you wish for. You think guild traders are bad...

    Right now wealth is not evenly distributed, but inequalities are relatively mild compared to other MMOs because traders like me cannot scale our massive wealth efficiently, so despite sitting on 100M+ gold, my income is pretty much the same as if I had 10M gold, because it is inefficient for me to try to corner a sector of the economy, so I don't bother.

    If a global auction house is implemented thanks to all this QQ and the trade guild I worked so hard to build becomes obsolete, I will use the global auction house to really play the market because I can actually afford to buy up things server-wide and dictate prices at will. Naturally rich traders know other rich traders... so I won't be working alone.

    They're not making this up, there are guilds that do that. The fact that some don't doesn't make the point untrue or invalid. Moreover, their vote is no less valid than yours.

    Ah, yes, there in fact are plenty of trade guilds that do this. They also either have no guild traders or simply occupy that much coveted spot in the middle of nowhere at bleackrock isle.

    I waste way too much time trying to find things scattered all over the game world, none of my toons are 50 yet so I don't have access to all the guilds, and I have only been annoyed by guilds so far and don't want to be tied into their arbitrary rules and requirements just to sell something.

    It's "more immersive" and far more annoying. I'll take getting rid of an annoyance over "immersion" darn near every day.

    Be force into trader guild and be force to keep sell lvl up it is like work on callsenter where you get fire if dont keep up sell number. To me the most stupid concept for MMO in today world it would maybe have ok back in 1997 but today when many player have familys other thing to outside the game it make hard on the so call casual playerbase.

    that would actually make sense on the most basic and logical level that ZOS would never do it because it is to hard for them to do .

    The fourms should be linked in game, that would actually solve a lot of commutation issues seen on consoles. Yet that is not what this poll is about.

    This the major snag i have with TESO, is the lack of a proper global AH.

    i see that the current system discourages Gold seller, but damn its hard to sell or buy anything.

    THE UI is proper ***, to say the least, the worst i ever seen in a MMO and i played SWTOR

    I voted no, but I'm well aware there will never be a global auction house.

    Players play more when they have to spend 30-45 minutes looking for specific items, and more playtime means more cash for ZOS.

    The convenience, to me, would be well worth the extra cost. Plus if you kept the current system in place too, the prices could not get to insane due to competition giving players a choice.

    I was in Diablo 3 when it had a global auction house (gold and real money). ESO has a much better economic system with the guild traders.

    Guild stores could do with better search UI though. And a global sales database (for price checking) would be nice too.

    This games economy is a mess. It monopolizes the ability to sell between players and creates a significant gap between players leading Trader Guilds and players on the outside.

    There are only so many Guild Traders, Only so many Slots in Trader Guilds and only so many items that can be listed by a player. I cringe to think of how many items might be going into the deconstruction pile or being sold to NPCs as players dont have access to sell their wares.

    Particularly in the default UI. A search bar would be a nice start.
