Remember when...

leejohn85b16_ESO
Veteran mobs could one shot you.

Health attribute ratio was different to gear and enchants

You could reach most soft caps

The list of campaigns was endless

One day you logged in and your set bonuses had changed

Workable stamina builds were almost non-existent

No class abilities had a stamina morph

Endgame was vet Elden Hollow and Darkshade

When the any race any alliance perk was considered the ultimate blow to faction pride

When a kuta would give you one more spell/weapon damage than a rekuta jewelry enchant

When some combinations had unlimited ultimate generation

Random forward camps placed by spies

The main quest was bugged for a lot of people.

A resto staff was the ultimate weapon for single target dps

Some racials where shocking poor

I'm feeling all nostalgic. More please!

Yes. My main - a Sorc - was seriously not fun to play. I had to get all the best trial gear and pop potions like crazy just to keep up and I'd still do half the DPS of an average magicka DK. Half the leaderboards groups didn't have a Sorc or a NB. Don't miss it at all.

PS: not saying soft caps were bad in and of themselves, but at the very least class balance was utter cr** in those days.

Yeah....I've had that since day one PC...pre-ordered imperial version...Unless I'm just simply mis-remembering things, but I'm pretty sure that has been out since the game dropped.

That very lore breaking any race any alliance still bugs me, the imperial race doesn't really bother me. Cadwells silver/gold is also something that buggs me a lot lore wise. I play a faction because I want to play that faction. If I feel for playing another faction I'll just make an alt character in that very faction. The cadwells silver/gold also takes out the fun in making alt characters since you've already seen their quests with your main that has nothing to do with their quests tbf...

When some combinations had unlimited ultimate generation
That feeling when you had your veil of blades up again when only 30% of the duration of your previous veil had passed :'(

    The time when:
    - power extration increased your weapon damage per target hit
    - you had to ask in zone chat for help for world bosses and dolmens and people actually came for help
    - you had different horses for different situations
    - potions stacked with skills
    - spell symmetry was part of dps rotations

    -gold spammers in zone chat
-17k for a base brown horse

How is being able to play any race in any alliance "lore breaking"? So you're saying that there are absolutely NO Argonians in AD areas, or no Nords living in DC, etc? That'd be like saying there were no Japanese or Germans living and fighting for the U.S. in WWII.

I'm a big fan of elder scrolls lore, but I would prefer former WoW players instead of Skyrim kids (and their mighty dovahkiins) any day. At least they can understand game mechanics. ;)

    I loved this one lol

    - Unhide then hide your helmet stopped bar swap lag
    - soul assault was best dps
    - who aggroed the mage
    - daedric and ancient elf motif farmers selling it for 100k and never telling anyone where to get it
    - item duplication glitch ruining the economy (some people still exist with millions)
    - selling traits for 5k
    - when everyone wore aether gear
    - when trials gear became BoE for a week on accident
    - incast cast breath of life
    - when toppling charge semi worked, not quite but at least it worked and i didnt need to use a potion
    - and last, when we were able to sell gear and Bind on Equip existed

    • 10% more damage with resto staff.
    • Dawnbreaker added weapon damage, which many magicka based class and weapon skills would scale with. Healers in Trials would have it slotted, to give better heals.
    • All motifs were farmable everywhere, and Imperial Motif was blue, not gold. Daedric was popular and costed 20k to begin with, then drop rates were increased with an updated, and people would sell them for 6k ...then drop chances were lowered, and prices went up to 60k in PC/ EU.
    • Filthered Water/ lvl 40 solvent was farmable in Cyrodiil.
    • All provisioning ingredients were farmable, but it changed quickly so tomatoes only came with hirelings and pepper was farmable only in dwemer ruins.
    • 10k for a stack of blue magicka food was "cheap".
    • Plump Roden Toes was in basically all containers, even killed and looted animals -everyone was tired of this damn close to useless provisioning ingredient.
    • Argonian race passive skill for potion intake was good for nightblade class, and it was considerate one of the best combinations for a dps role.
    • v12 Warlock Jewelry and Stygian Daggers were considerate common and obtainable loot.
    • Gold improvement materials and kutas costed ~1.5k-3.5k because hirelings were useful.
    • We had no trader kiosks, so people joined trading guilds to buy + sell, not just sell.
    • We weren't able to dye our armor, so in order to look somewhat decent people wore daedric robes.
    • We weren't able to craft shirts/jerkins ...only option for lightarmor chest piece was robe.
    • DPS builds contained resource sustainability, because softcaps were easily hit.
    • Enchanting was a nightmare to level up.
    • Templars didn't have any execute skills, and Biting Jabs was magicka based.
    • So many bots were roaming in dungeons, that you sometimes couldn't kill dungeon bosses.
    • DK's where OP.
    • Nightblades were OP.
    • Hybrid builds were too viable because of softcaps - so no great need to specialize too much in one area.
    • Bount on Pickup trial gear was useful, and at one point it was tradeable, so people would farm them to sell them.
    • Daedra Hearts were buyable at npc vendors, but was quickly removed and prices skyrocketed.

      edit
    • Potency runes only stacked to 20, and all other ingredients only stacked to 100.
    • Recipes required more types of ingredients.
