Best Way to Farm Champion Points?

Hi All:
I am in the process of grinding up my champion points in preparation for the next major patch. I typically run in the IC sewers. Are there better spots? Perhaps gank-free spots to farm CP? I would really appreciate some suggestions! Grinding can get pretty repetitive, so I'd like to change it up.
On that note, has there been any talk by developers about reducing the time it takes to gain CP in future updates? I'm wondering if I can better spend my time doing something else (making gold, achievement hunting, leveling up undaunted and pvp skill lines, etc), if the time will be reduced for getting CP later.

Drakilian✭✭✭Cyrodil delves: Honestly any of them, Cracked Wood Cave is just the most famous one and probably actually the worst one to go to since people love coming in there to kill the grinders every once in a while.
IC sewers/districts: The best for exp:mob ratio, though mobs are a LOT tougher than what you'll face anywhere else, but doing those dailies also gets you a fair bit of exp. As well as all of this, you might get ganked. Still, i'd recommend it over the others since not only will you get a lot of exp, you'll get stones, v16 mats, the occasional bit of fun, smallscale PvP to interrupt the monotony (even if you're ganked, hunting down the ganker is a wonderful experience), and trophies (which can be sold for absurd prices).
Orsinium: Don't grind there myself but have guildies who do and they swear by it.Edited by Drakilian on December 31, 2015 5:14AMJust call me Drak1 -

Drexilla✭Grinding IC probably has the best benefits. I would still argue it's the best spot to grind gold so if you are going to pick a farm area for CPs, you may as well get the most for your time and pick a spot that benefits the wallet as well.

You can do it just fine with any class if you're a high enough level and have some heals. Reflects are your friends against those hard-hitting mage mobs (DKs can basically just reflect them to death) and if you've got one of those long ~thirty second stuns (Agony, petrify, rune prison, etc.) then use those on the toughest/most annoying mob in whatever group you plan on attacking before/after engaging to even the odds a bit.Just call me Drak1 -

✭@Drexilla I grind in IC solo with a templar healer. I can sustain myself with puncturing sweeps so I never have to heal myself. I just have to watch out for monsters that stun me, like harvesters. I think any class that has a strong self-heal can survive in IC sewers. Unfortunately, going alone means being more vulnerable to gankers. Would love to hear what others have to say on this point.
There's a 10 percent experience boost (I believe) for running in a pair, and the experience gets significantly lower the more and more people you add into your group. Zergs won't get good champion point experience or tel var stones.
I like running alone, because it's less work coordinating. Also somehow, if I run with others I end up doubling up as role of healer and main DPS, meanwhile when I am alone, all I have to do is DPS.2 -

✭@Drakilian Would you happen to know where in Orsinium people grind CP? I've also heard that it's the new IC (without ganking). I ran an experiment and did the entire Old Orsinium Public Dungeon by myself. All the bosses were spawned when I arrived to them. I only got like a quarter of a bar of champion point experience, which is much lower than what i get in IC sewers (around 4 times less). Am I doing something wrong?
I would have felt it was worth it if I would have at least gotten an ancient orc motif, but I got nothing. T.T0 -
Drakilian✭✭✭Well, I think your mistake would be going into the public dungeon. You get way less exp from public dungeons than anywhere else, because ZOS decided for some legitimately unfathomable reason that the areas with the most and toughest mobs should grant the least possible experience in the entire game. As far as I know they just find heavily mob-populated areas in Orsinium and go wild.Just call me Drak0

Stravokov✭✭✭✭i do my daily Cyrodiil quests. nets me aqround 5 - 6 champ points daily, 15k - 16k gold, the occassionaly gank/pvp, some AP points. easy way to level up your abilities/mophs/skill lines etc. all around good stuff. not allot of people do them so it is relatively safe.
also if your like me and did all the quests, this is the best alternative really. maybe there are more efficient ways of grinding, but this to me has more merit. it keeps it fresh and interesting, moving around a large map, conflict with the other faction players... i love it personally.3 -

✭✭✭✭✭Personally I hate grinding, though I hear the best gain is in cyrodil dwelves.
I like the cyrodil dailies, they are easy enough, good expees, repeatable... and the danger of gankage is often overestimated if you are careful and sneak a lot.
IC is great XP gains, but also gankmaster central. Don't go unless you either follow a big zergball, or care little about being murdered for your stones over and over again.
General PvP is very stringy on the expees, so more for the people aiming for AP gains or TV stone gank then those who want more c-points.
Wrothgar is two veteran ranks worth of XP, and then post-story has two dailies (one solo, one groupish) which pay out far less then the cyrodil ones, but give the occasional neat armor drop from their reward boxes...
Craglorn is still tough to solo, neat for groupy fun, but the rewards are a bit suboptimal at this point. Both XP and gear drops.
Undaunted pledges are a possibility, but requires grouping. Nice if you have an active guild to call upon, not so great if relying on PUGs.
When you are still doing it, Cadwells regions give decent EX through all the questing, and also all the othet goodies - skyshards, mages guild books, quest skill points, etc.
And finally there is grinding in the last cadwells region, which is kinda... meh.

✭✭✭✭✭In my experience, 2-manning the IC sewers is the best way to grind XP. One should have some heals, the other pure AoE damage. Go somewhere where you can make a circuit so that mobs will always have respawned when you get to where you started. Make smart pulls - pull every mob you possibly can without any other mob losing agro from getting too far from its normal position. It helps if you do this at off-peak hours when the risk of ganking is lower. ESO+, XP pots/scrolls and rings of Mara also help.
Incidentally, this grind will also net you quite a few TV stones (I'd get anywhere up to 5000 until all my gear was ruined and/or my pockets were full and I'd have to go back to base) as well as vault keys you can use or sell in a guild store.0 -
Barlthump✭✭✭Go to rkindaleft. You wanna farm gold and CP? Thats the place to be. Grinder from 100 cp to 310 cp there. Magical place, plus those mobs drop mostly gold so you don't need to empty bags that often1

To really farm fast and efficiently, you want to pull a room of mobs all at once and burn them quickly...without dying and without having to slow for resource regeneration. Although I cannot disqualify any build as everyone plays differently, I can say that my magicka Templar and Stam Sorcerer were best for me as they both have great resource regen/mgmt and both get life back for aoe attacks = clears large mobs quickly, has great survive-ability, and resources were rarely an issue.
As to solo or group grind. Some guildies and I have spent quite a bit of time grinding the sewers. Couple of them just hit the 501 cap (on console) and I am mid-400s. We are all under the impression it is best to farm in a team of two as this seems to be the right balance between a group large enough for anti-ganking and mob clears but small enough not to divide XP gains. However, if you have a build that is a bit under-powered/underdeveloped, if you have survive-ability or resource mgmt issue, or if you are online during peek times when you are more likely to have enemy NBs creeping around, add just enough group members to farm efficiently.

Nolphi✭✭✭Rkindaleft all the way. I grinded my two sons to v16 in there in exchange for all the ancient orc motifs they found. We were consistently running 700K xp per hour starting v1 with crown boosters and I earned more than 2M gold from the motifs. Mobs are significantly weaker than in IC in my opinion and there is no risk of being ganked. The battle leveling made it super easy as I could just give my kids some simple crafted sets and have them steel tornado with me. One of them was a stamplar with repent so we ran super fast without resource issues. The down side is the lack of drops for deconstructing but the motif sales really make up for that. Its also a lot less tedious in my opinion when compared to zombies or other mob grinds. Rkindaleft forever!Clan Nolphi Family Gaming

Oldmanlawlor✭✭✭✭Go to public dungeon in the Far East of Orsinium. I honestly farmed for maybe an hour without loosing my werewolf form. There's a route you can run, once you figure it out; disease aoe as a were wolf, heavy attacks and eat everyone.
The XP rivals that of cracked wood cave. And because it's in Orsinium, you get treated like royalty by the people who make the game and you get great rewards.1 -

If you were AD I would say Zombie grind is pretty good depending on how many people are there. Generally though I will go to IC for cp but that is just me because I like the TV for gear purposes and the trophies.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭My first piece of advice to anyone is to do all the silver and gold skill quests.
Then just play the game based on what parts you enjoy.
Doing this will drastically give you enough CP's and also not cause burn out.
If you've completed all silver and gold zone questing and only want to grind, the Google is your friend. Ppl usually ask that grind spots not be mentioned here in fear of them being nerfed which tends to happen often-PC (PTS)/Xbox One: NewBlacksmurf

Generally speaking the people who farm champion points are crappy players any way, so you're just wasting your time. It's not going to make you any better.
If you cared less about them and more about playing the actual game, you won't need as many CPs.

Well maybe if you are VR12 and are doing 12K damage (battle leveled), then you can grind IC alone. And if you have high sustain, that is even better. I am VR5 and the first Clanfeathers and the daedras in the first room I can kill alone, but for the other bigger guys there I need a group. The bigger group, the better. If at least 10 people, you do not need to fear of gankers. Only if it would be bigger group, then starts the fun.
I do unbuffed around 2100 dps in the "C" list. With skills, buffs and combos I can do maybe 10K damage, but not everytime ofc. I have buffed 3200 dps in the "C" list. Average damage is around 4K - 5K, maybe 6 or 7K. Did not observe it so much. But I would recommend any content, where you can kill a lot of mobs or bosses and do as much quests as possible, there you get your CPs Edited by altemriel on December 31, 2015 6:24PM1 -

✭Not sure about CP but Regular Maelstrom Arena does about 1 whole VR level now in about 2 full runs.
Regular is not that hard once you get use to it, I'd say rather easy for folks that do group or PvP content.
