New Level 50 Enchanter

Question,

I have not received any V15 V16 Potentency runes farming Wrothgar somewhat diligently.

I know you can buy V15 and V16 Potentency runes from the tel var vendor.

My question is; if there another way I am not aware of of acquiring V15 (V15 only) for the daily writs without having to go to IC?

My first writ didn't return a potency stone.

I haven't received a survey in Wrothgar yet, do these have a higher chance of giving you some potent envy stones to complete writs with?

They are just annoyingly rare.

the survey reports do give V15 pot runes at a higher rate then just farming them from nodes. You do have to have the pot improvement passive maxed out (rank 10) to farm them from nodes. As for the v16 runes they are excruciatingly rare. I have gotten many v15 pot runes from hirelings but then again they scale off of your passive rank same as for farming nodes.

The v16 runes are, as others have said, exceedingly rare. I don't keep tabs on exactly where I get my (very few) v16 runes from, but I have five max-level enchanting hirelings and farm in Wrothgar very frequently and I never have enough on hand when I go enchanting.

As it stands now the v16 runes are the hook ZOS uses to pull people back into the Imperial City, those and the prismatic runes.

Pretty much this.

I've been 10/10 Enchanting since IC hit and I've never once received a v16 rune from random node harvesting or survey maps since Orsinium. I constantly have to spend a few hours killing PvE enemies to replenish my supply of v16 Potency stones.

You can always get a hireling with 10/10 Potency passive and they'll start delivering V15 runes. I have a decent (under 100) stock from mine.

This is true, but I wouldn't consider v15 as hard to come by. Hell, you can farm Orsinium public dungeon mobs until they drop white glyphs for decon to get those. The issue, really, isn't with v15 and below, but v16 Potency/Essence.

Yes true on V16 but the OP wants V15 for writs and the Hirelings is no extra effort at all.

Again, true, however. Writs require v15 max stamina, magicka and health. Those require Rejera. More often than not, I get more Jehade than Rejera. It's still easier to go and farm them from public dungeon mobs than waiting for your Hireling to "hopefully" give you one and only one. Still, no reason not to have your hireling maxed out. With as long as it can take to reach Rank 50 Enchanting, kind of silly not to.

I got one on my hireling today.

I did not know you could farm the public dungeons for superb glyphs to deconstruct.
