Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

We do need to limit one faction in PvP.

This isn't health for Cyrodiil.
Those people who change their faction in PvP make the PvP unplayable.
It's unfair to those people that really want to play Alliance war or skilled fighting.

I'm a loyal DC player, but I don't really feel happy when I saw this.

Try playing on PC EU atm; there are no campaigns owned by DC; most owned by EP.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

    DC - PC - EU - Australian
VR11 Mrderrikk: Breton Stam Sorc (Vamp) | VR16 Derrikkinblack: Dunmer Mage DK | VR3 Cuts-Until-It-Dies: Argonian Magicka NB

    We are helpless.
Only we can do is complain the same thing again and again.

This time, I posted for players of AD and EP.

Ever been to Azura's star? Campaign won from like week 1. PC EU.
I joined DC because it was the underdog faction... It seems like the more skilled players went with it too because despite the lower numbers we always managed to do fine and win a lot of campaigns. But now all those pointy ears and skyrim fanboys are all switching to DC just to win.

Ive been a loyal member of the DC but now it's way too easy :(

I play DC and have to call BS on your statement. We have Azura most of the time as well as Spellbreaker and occasionally haderus. DC is not the underdog alliance it used to be at some point in the past. I'd actually say AD is the least populated Alliance on the EU PC server.

With that being said, how come you NA guys have only 2 30 days campaign, while we have 4 of them? :open_mouth:

Soooo..... Change home campaings? you know, disperse ?
These guilds follow the 'most populated' campaings, because the more people, the better the farm; so just spread yourselves around instead of ballin' up in a single zer- .... oh, right... my bad.

So what you are saying a map flips to one color because people have alts on different factions?

It is more like guilds and players guest from other servers to wipe a map.

So other than some spying how does the limit help?

Some of us spend all day flipping a map for our faction only to have it PvP doored overnight back keeps us busy. lol

Other than people being auto grouped and assigned an unused/available objective at the same time,
I don't see how you are going to stop that 100 man zerg.
It is a free for all, mass warfare, go where you want game.

    Automatic Grouping.
    1. join campaign.
    2. auto put into 1 man scout + mission, 4 man group to take resource and given capture resource, 24 man group to take keep and given/shared capture keep
    3. complete objective and be auto assigned to new group/objective.
    4. system adds and removes objectives depending on alliance keep/resource ownership.
    5. the system shares objectives rather than the player.
    6. Perhaps a personal player rating system so you decide which players you prefer to be grouped with.
    7. scout, resource or keep defence/offence grouping preference option.

    Manual Grouping.
    2. A guild takes ownership of campaigns faction.
    3. all players report to campaign owner to receive orders/objectives.
    4. faction owner organises all players to keep them spread out and group size reasonable.
    5. players voluntarily adhere to the alliance owners orders.

This forces pugs and new players to spread out and learn/fail at the same time.
This basically creates multiple concurrent capture the flag games in one instance.
More akin to halo style grouping.

    Problems with manual system.
Nothing stopping a troll leading the alliance campaign.
Nothing stopping players go where they want regardless.
System objectives will clash with campaign owner objectives.
Campaign owner has to be available 24/7

    Problem with auto system.
    Player choice is removed.
More load on an already overworked system.

I agree Eights, one faction one campaign, all this having multiple toons in the same faction just makes a mockery of the three faction warfare, no one has any faction pride or realm pride, they don't fight for the realm to their fill potential because why bother I can just switch to the winning faction, I wish they would have stuck to the DACO model when it comes to cryodiil.

Haha, guilty, I think I was part of that zergball with our PvP guild. 2 hours on my AD toon then an hour on my EP toons taking back what I previously took.

And no, I don't care, I have no faction loyalties and I play for fun. I'd play if I was the only player against an army of enemies camping at the gates or other way around.
Until arenas and organized PvP is implemented for true test of skill, I will never take Cyrodiil seriously and if someone disagrees with me or I don't fit by your "standards" it's tough ****.

They should have done it the way they did in DAOC and in Warhammer , one faction per account for pvp.

Or like it was after Warhammer merged servers and people had two different factions on the same server , switching to a different faction than the one you were just playing causes an 8 hour lock out from switching back to the previous faction .

Add Mercenary system, that alliance with lowest population can hire player as Mercenary from enemy alliances and offer gold to them. That should make sure Campaign Population changes alot, one side might have the highest population but if theres lots of Mercenaries, it has the lowest population instead.

This seemed to be the case for me too. I was on Haderus, but DC were running around everywhere so I jumped to Spell Breaker. Soon enough DC controlled the entire map for days so I moved to Trueflame. Lol that was a mistake - DC owns this campaign. So I finally went to Azuras.
Here, it seems to fluctuate so it's not AS bad. Though the problem I run into here is lag making the game virtually unplayable.

Dude tou can't control the masses there's nothing in the game that can force a player to attack an enemy player if they wanna team up to take town a largely dominated enemy campaign they can I for one love seeing a dominated map means I can get ap seiging and taking the map back. Even if I lose I killed some people gained a chunk of ap and move closer in ranks and skills. Me and my guildmates hunt down the traitors and ruin their emperor trading game whenever possible and love reading our hated fan mail as we *** them off.

Some of the players of DC on the EU server are really young. Nothing against young people, but these are literly kids who don't wanna lose. They zerg with three raids, they use cheats and exploits. When they get wiped, they whisper things to you that are not nice. They turn the whole map blue during night.
I'm not saying that all DC players are like this. But EP and AD is so annoyed by them by now.

Its not that we need a limit.
Its the PvP should not be set as a campaign that runs for days or weeks.

-I've not understood why these are not queue and play for 3 - 20 hours and then they reset.
-I also believe the size is too large since these aren't server wide but instead a MEGA server game that attempts to separate PvP by campaigns, instead of using a method as a frontier like Dark Age of Camelot. This would require Faction locks and sever selections tho.

I do think the game would find benefits from queue and play in smaller campaigns that last 1hour to 3 hours in a much smaller Cyrodil without any PvE or Imperial City.

The Cyrodil PvE should exist outside of the campaigns and actually be setup like Dark Age of Camelot locked to a faction which would only work if it was PvE since factions are open to all accounts.

Imperial City access....is just open so that should be just to select a server type and play. Not being tied to Cyrodil as only one campaign (maybe more now) require Cyrodil progress to access IC.

All this resolves the Cyrodil Lag, it resolves the faction spies and it resolves the complaints of PvP other than spell or class concerns which may later be addressed once larger concerns are addressed as PvE to PvP is an issue when skill or classes are viable in PvE but too powerful or lacking in PvP.
