    I began in May 2014.
Not exactly the earliest point to jump in.
Can I at least waiter the party and serve drinks?

Still here, still playing, still loving it.

Member of some nice guilds and doing PVE and PVP

IC and Orsinium were fab updates, appealling to different play-styles but giving a reason for everyone to do some of the content.

I see bugs getting fixed all the time. anyone who expects an MMO to ever be bug free is living in La-La land.

I started playing ESO after LOTRO which truly became a sinful lesson in money grabbing over quality. I see none of that in ESO.

Just waiting for that new trial and I will be even more happy.

No intention of leaving just yet :)

    Hey!

By that I mean where are all the players who were around for the beta or release date era? We're like a dying breed! whats up yall!

The point of this thread is on how far the game has come!

Opinions all opinions! Be honest but dont beat around the bush!

I was the only person in my local area that played ESO, I love the artwork and the way the game looks. Yeah there has been loads of more bad days than good on this game but still its a game that I still go back to. As of now my account is corrupt so all I can do is reminisce. I remember finally getting a friend onto this game and we'd kick back and relax around stonefalls where the oblivion gates would open and used to take selfies right infront of the gates while the innocent nps were being flown to the sky as sacrifices to the oblivion; thats how we ...'chill'. But anyway what was your best memory on this game of 2015?

I love this game! Kappa the Kappa!

Hello, beta player, day one player, and have always been a ESO player other than a month here and there i've missed; i can't say the same for my friends though but their lost.

Feel I must comment above. When I was starting, a lot of the quests were buggy. Some world bosses couldn't be finished (summoner bug was bad). I got stuck in doors. Things was not placed correctly. Most of the dungeons looked exactly the same (4-5 different templates). Nowadays I can start a char and play through normal/silver/gold and not experience any bugged quests in the 5+3 alliance zones (will not comment on IC or Wrothgar tho :) ) without being haunted by buggy quests/bosses. The dungeons have been updated. It is a wee bit too easy, but that is because of the champion point system, as an old player I have a huge advantage to new ones and it has to be balanced towards them. I can use potions to level quickly and there are good grind zones again (remember Spellscar), so you can get a VR16 toon quite quickly if you know what you're doing. There are good guilds out there where you can find like-minded players. Here it is worse for us old-timers, since most of our friends have quit, and we need to re-socialize to find new mates to play with. All in all, I would say that the game has improved a lot since conception but there will always be a lot more to fix and we will all have opinions on what that is ;).

Happy New Year to you all!

I was one of those people who vanished, I just decided to take a stroll through things today. But, it was largely because the game was awful. It bothered me a little that it was largely a generic MMO with an ES skin, but mostly it was the enormous bugs and being unable to keep up with their own promises, like the population sizes in PvP. I figured maybe with all the new content like spell crafting, the justice system, etc. they talked up I might come back, but I think everyone knows how that's turned out... Honestly at this point I think that was all just a BS attempt to boost console sales, if you think about the timing of all those announcements.

But, that's largely why I'm still gone. They've promised a ton and delivered on little to none of it, and the game is mostly just farming for xp and rare gear anyway. I mean most RPGs get boring at some point, but at least you can start a brand new character without having to worry about being so far behind everyone that you're getting one-shotted on a regular basis. If they actually delivered on any of the things they bragged about I'd consider coming back still, but I don't see that happening.

Beta-Player here. I recently came back.

I made some accomplishments like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyZsIDSSGV4
    and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVZBT-5TtXI

However, DKs got nerfed into the ground and are quite unfun.

All I really want to do is PvP. However as a magika DK main, I am sure you can understand my frustration and why I have had long periods (months) of not playing. I rerolled a NB and a Sorc, and those are pretty fun. But at the end of the day, I just wish my main could be viable in PvP.

I again put my faith in ZoS to fix the DK class and if they don't, I don't think I will enjjoy the game enough to keep playing.

Still kicking. And slashing. And bashing. And puncturing. And low slashing. And shield charging. And critical rushing. And executing. And rallying. And uppercutting. And sniping. And bombarding. And spraying. And spearing. And flapping. Did I mention punching?

How has the game changed since May 2014...
    In general:
    • The graphics got better
    • Equipment styles improved drastically
    • Quest dialogue/storyline improved drastically
    • Defensive play is disappearing
    • DPS is out of control
    • Solo PvE is (mostly) amazing and getting amazing-er
    • Group PvE has been and is solid
    • Overall difficulty dipped after launch and started increasing again over the past few months - game is much more fun challenging than facerolling
    • PvP has been one step forward, four steps back
    • Capless gameplay is good on paper, but we all know what happens to paper... underwater
    • The Devs are showing more experience in their decisions
I think ESO's combat balance is starting the road to recovery. :)

I wonder if I count as a first-year ESO player, I bought the game the day it was officially released because I had happened to overhear that it was being released a couple days prior, I'd not kept up-to-date on its progress or betas (I'm not a beta person for anything really.) I played for about a month and a half almost non-stop, beat the main storyline and my original faction and got the Covenant Hero title (well, actually, I didn't due to a bug that prevented me from doing so, but otherwise would have), loved it all the way through.

But then kinda lost steam going through Cadwell's Silver, still completed it and got the Dominion Hero title and enjoyed that a lot too, but then stopped about midway through Stonefalls of Cadwell's gold. Didn't come back until the month the subscription was being removed, made a new character, stayed for another month or so, then stopped again. Didn't really continue much until around Orsinium was close to release but eventually did finally finish Cadwells gold (on the second character instead of the first, interestingly), and now after playing through Orsinium's storyline, which, I once again enjoyed, I'm losing steam again and probably won't play all too often until the next content release. :P

All in all I've been here since day 1 of the official release on the forums, but I've only really been active in-game for a total of about...around three or four months, non-consecutively. I do love the game though.
