If they did, I imagine some people would have complained about having religion forced on them, or how it breaks their immersion with ES lore...
It's a game, I don't need goodwill and blessings from Zenimax for a holiday that not everybody celebrates.
In fact, if they "celebrated Christmas", I expect something on Chinese New Year, which is a much bigger holiday for me.

As for in-game stuff. You can organize your own events, like many people do. Other than that, these threads just make you look spoiled, OP. We all want in-game events, and I think they'll come. I don't think it's fair to say that they gave us nothing. I don't even consider that. We have the game, that's what we bought, not ass-kissing.
I understand not wanting to take the time to give us an event or some "free" Items for the Christmas Holiday. But, couldn't we have gotten a message saying Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Thanks for a great year, or at least a kiss our ass. There was no anything for us as players.

This. I wouldn't mind some lore-friendly holidays, but any real world ones are bound to be culturally insensitive and leave out many people.

Look at FF XIV ARR, they have a Christmas event till 31 of DEC. It just show that zeni cares only their money and nothing else, the best solution is to fire the current devs and hire some good dev who cares about the product.
Or maybe they care about those of us who have said, categorically, on several occasions that we don't want real-world holidays in our ESO experience thanks.
For me the lack of Christmas based rubbish in-game is a relief, not an annoyance.

Yep. I am not a Christian and people always say merry Christmas to me - because I am cool with them just being friendly, I always reply: and same to you! xD But some people are very 'funny' about things like this.

It's the effort @JD2013 not the content. How much effort has ZOS put into holidays? They release a handful of purchasable polymorphs and mounts to supposedly celebrate a the witches festival but then fail to release the items in time for the date of the witches festival.
No Wildstar didn't fail @Ruben, it just went free to play. If you consider that failing then I guess ESO also failed because it went buy to play.
@Gidorick
I get that it's the effort. But don't ever accuse ZOS of being lazy as what other MMO is putting out 4 big DLC's a year as opposed to one for WoW. And less for GW2. For the big MMO's anyway.

When you see what other devs do to celebrate holidays and then compare it to the almost nothing that ZOS does it makes one wonder how passionate these people are about the property they are controlling...
