Id be happy for christmas if I could play the game. Cant even make it to character select been a couple months now.

But you just said the game isn't that good on another thread started by you.

So do you want to play a game that you don't actually seem to enjoy?

It's a game, I don't need goodwill and blessings from Zenimax for a holiday that not everybody celebrates.

In fact, if they "celebrated Christmas", I expect something on Chinese New Year, which is a much bigger holiday for me.

I agree however I never mind free stuff. Also it could be interpreted as appreciation towards eso loyal consumers.

As for in-game stuff. You can organize your own events, like many people do. Other than that, these threads just make you look spoiled, OP. We all want in-game events, and I think they'll come. I don't think it's fair to say that they gave us nothing. I don't even consider that. We have the game, that's what we bought, not ass-kissing.

You are asking the 'entitled' people who have to be handed everything to be satisfied with that :) The truth is that they could be given everything they want and would still find things to complain about. The best thing is to just ignore and move on.

This. I wouldn't mind some lore-friendly holidays, but any real world ones are bound to be culturally insensitive and leave out many people.

Yep. I am not a Christian and people always say merry Christmas to me - because I am cool with them just being friendly, I always reply: and same to you! xD But some people are very 'funny' about things like this.

Look at FF XIV ARR, they have a Christmas event till 31 of DEC. It just show that zeni cares only their money and nothing else, the best solution is to fire the current devs and hire some good dev who cares about the product.

Or maybe they care about those of us who have said, categorically, on several occasions that we don't want real-world holidays in our ESO experience thanks.

For me the lack of Christmas based rubbish in-game is a relief, not an annoyance.

    i love you!

I'm personally happy that they didn't do anything. I'm glad they left a working patch of the game, instead of cramming in half baked limited content.

ZoS despite people's opinions are made up of human beings, I'm glad they are able to take some time off for the holidays, spend time with their families, relax. They have some very important content coming out and am happy they can recharge before finalizing and releasing this critical patch.

They had a discount on crowns. Crowns are what we use to buy DLC.

Crowns were like 5500 for $24.

I agree, Zeni seems to be a very sterile, and not a people person company at all, don't get me wrong I like Gina, Brian and the staff, I enjoy ESO live, but it seems like the parent company is ran by a bunch of Ebenezer Scrooge's. Zeni cold use a good pr department.

Not even a generic festive banner on the forums, or launcher, at least wishing the player base a happy holiday season, sometimes I think companies take this political correctness a bit to far.

It's the effort @JD2013 not the content. How much effort has ZOS put into holidays? They release a handful of purchasable polymorphs and mounts to supposedly celebrate a the witches festival but then fail to release the items in time for the date of the witches festival. When you see what other devs do to celebrate holidays and then compare it to the almost nothing that ZOS does it makes one wonder how passionate these people are about the property they are controlling...

No Wildstar didn't fail @Ruben, it just went free to play. If you consider that failing then I guess ESO also failed because it went buy to play.

I get that it's the effort. But don't ever accuse ZOS of being lazy as what other MMO is putting out 4 big DLC's a year as opposed to one for WoW. And less for GW2. For the big MMO's anyway.

PSA: Zos is not your family/friends if you want some Xmas spirit turn off your game and join them for dinner, there are plenty who are perfectly fine without the holidays being forced into every facet of life, Jesus these threads are getting worse every day.

I didn't like the halloween costumes. I didn't like the idea behind them. I wish for them to ignore real life holidays. I'd rather the team stay focused on the game and not holiday fluff, and when the holidays do come around I hope the staff gets some time to spend with their families. The world is oversaturated with holidays. Especially Christmas. We don't need special things for the holidays.

Good lord what a bunch of self entitled selfish children. Grow up. Good for them for giving the staff time off instead of indulging childish desire for a freaking banner saying "merry Xmas or happy holidays." They gave you a freaking game that took thousands of hours to develop and continue to maintain, well sort of. You think just because you paid $50 for a game you are entitled to demand a merry Christmas from the company? He'll if they did that all of you would demand something else. Grow up, stuff like this is why milenials have a bad name.

I didn't say they were lazy @JD2013 ... and they have yet to come through on that promise. We have had 2 DLCS since they went buy to play. Let's see if they can keep up with their schedule.

and FYI: I do think they will be able to... their first year they were mired in console release, now they are free to focus on DLCs.

I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure I recognize the names of the ones asking for an in game pop up saying, "Merry Christmas." They were in that whine thread a while back crying about that once every blue moon crown store pop up. Sweet, delicious, irony. Go be with your families and loved ones and get your validation there.

With the Halloween themed items, it's not entitled or bratty to feel disappointed that they didn't offer any in game festivities for this holiday, or holidays, they could have been all encompassing and had a build up to a new year type celebration but they didn't. I can see reasons why they may not have, the Halloween stuff was pretty jarring to lore lovers (and I have the upmost adoration to fellow lore lovers) and people, if given the chance to ruin something for others, will, if for no other reason, to relieve their personal angst and misdirect it at people. I'm not talking about lore lovers only I'm talking about the people who find fault with everything, you know people like that, or of people like that, so you can rationalize how they would have an effect on the game.

Next year maybe we'll see deer with holly or berries entwined in their antlers. Surely that won't offend anyone :)
