Definitely Orsinium. I highly, highly recommend it, it feels like a classic TES game :D. Also, welcome to ESO (i'm pretty sure you're new...?)

If you like questing I'd recommend Orsinium definitely. Imperial City is supposed to be more PvP focused I think.

Yeah Orsinium was a good choice. They are currently discussing ways to make IC better (adding more objectives to districts for example), so it will be more advantageous to buy it once it feels more completed.
Thieves Guild is coming out next, so you might want to save your pennies for that instead of IC too xD

Welcome to Tamriel friend, and merry Christmas to you!

I would say go for Orsinium first. It adds a new zone to level up in, and it's just a brilliantly done zone. Very reminiscent of other ES games and just so pretty.

Definitely get Imperial City later on.

Ah so you joined DC? Good man :P

The best thing I found about Orsinium was that as I did all the other quests in the game before it, most of the characters had already met me and had some special dialogue to show that :) it doesn't take away from any of the quests, but it means if you go through the quests again on a different character at max level then it's very, very replayable

    Hello and welcome to ESO!!

If you're not a big fan of PvP, then I would avoid IC... a lot of people complain about the mixing of PvE quests into PvP and there are a lot of trouble with ganking and people stealing your hard-earned Telvar Stones.

Orsinium, from what I've heard rave reviews about, is a PvE questing zone. I have yet to venture there because I prefer to save it for after I complete Cadwell's Silver/Gold but I'm looking forward to it. Just keep in mind, the open world group bosses in Orsinium are a LOT more difficult than leveling group bosses. ;)

Personally I love IC above anything, but pls ignore me here... xD My friends and my guild is already blaming me for liking it that much.

    The truth:
    Orsinium:
great for questers, care bears, all 3 factions access it and you can meet anyone there in the game basically... it is fun, enjoyable, solo questing is easy as hell for a v16, so lower lvls thrive there with their little battlespirit. It is a flower & cotton picking pve players heaven.

Orsinium DLC is ok-ish for economy. Given that you have crafting lvl'ed sufficiently, then you can farm raw v15+ materials here. You can also farm ancient orc motifs with a group, if farming raw materials is too hard for you.

    Imperial City:
If you are a casual player, with gear that costed you less than 200.000g, or If you struggle at killing wasps in Lower Craglorn, then group up or abandon this area completely. I really mean it, this is not a noob friendly "my build is special snowflake and I'm roleplayer with 1hand and shield skills for dps and i solo only", you will die before you take down 1 mob, and once you've upgraded your gear and can manage that 1 mob, enemy players will gank you sideways.

If you can pull 25k sustained single target dps, then please by all means do solo. It is fun and enjoyable, if you have the damage to kill fast here. Just don't try to solo the roaming bosses, they can be soloed but they have so much hp, that it is simply not worth the time. Join groups for doing those boss achievements.

The quests in IC are not that bad, but the way you have to pick them up, the way you have to deliver the quests, 123213123 loading screens and risk of getting ganked anytime you try to finish an objective in a quest. The storyline itself is very short and seems unfinished and rushed. Basically everything surrounding the quests is terrible, so the overall impression is that it simply sucks and disappoints.

IC is good for grinding, the xp is good and the loot is great. If you care about economy in this game, IC DLC is a must have. This is the DLC to get, if you want easy access to v16 materials, runes (including the prismatic) and solvent. :3

I agree with pretty much everything that you said up there, but its actually really, really easy to get Lorkhan's tears from Wrothgar, as there's a 30% chance or so to get it from the normal water nodes if you have the passives (at least that's what I get). One run of the dailies and you'll have a tone just from collecting them as you pass.

Orsinium definitely in your case. Although if you're just starting ESO I'd advise to save it for later - you can do Orsinium whenever but there are some characters you meet throughout it that appear in the DC storyline, so you might enjoy it more if you do it after the DC stuff. Your choice though, it's a great zone regardless.

I struggled there compared to IC, where it's dropped everywhere. I guess if I only went for the solvent, i would have picked more up, but I was so distracted by Ooooh shiny here, Ooooh shiny there ....running around like a crazy node harvester. I ended up rage quitting harvesting completely Q.Q because if I start then there will be no end....
..it's not even profitable compared to IC grind. I save money by grinding IC and only questing/ crafting in Orsinium.

Yeah I guess if you're game enough to grind in IC it's well worth it; I'm the sort of person sadly who sticks by a Magicka DK, so all the times I've looked into the PvP side of the game I've died badly, so I don't like the fact I can lose my stones so easily in IC :p but I am a bit of a PvE single-player game person normally...

I would say this, but if he's stripped for money then he may have to outright buy them instead. Although, having enough money to buy one $30 DLC a month would mean he'd have enough for ESO+, so...

There you go OP, try looking at subbing, you get your money back in Crowns anyway which you can use to buy the DLC's outright, and you'll have free access to them whilst you're subbed anyway.

@MrDerrikk aaah i can't imagine grinding with anything but mag nb or templar Q.Q maybe stam sorc with crit surge is good too, I don't know.... I'm not good enough to grind there with other chars than my templar.

I loose my stones whenever an enemy player shows up. I used to grind at odd hours, so I didn't meet them often, the grind payed off good for me. I am bad at pvp, when I intend to grind I don't slot any defensive skills, and I usually grind alone xD

I don't play eso much atm. but I plan to resub to have access to IC and Wrothgar next month. I miss IC :/

Become a subscriber to ESO Plus, $14.99 USD a month if I recall correctly, and get access to every DLC without buying them. Also get various other perks plus get free crowns once a month! Eventually those crowns would pay for whichever DLC you prefer to actually buy first after you've been given an opportunity to do a trial run of both! Or you could just stick to subscription to get new DLCs as well without buying lol

I'd certainly say Orsinium for the PvE, I'd also suggest not going there until you've completed the main base game content from 1 to 50 or so, otherwise you'll have out-leveled that content even more than you will anyway.

Don't overlook IC. Too many people who simply cannot kill NBs cry about it all the time. IC gives you a constant feeling of danger at all times its brilliant. You never know when the next noob will strike. Sometimes I leave them be, I'd they attack they get killed but sometimes I've done the tooth grind (sometimes you'll land over 200ks worth of items in an hour if Rng favours you) with reds and blues side by side. We all turned on each other in the end but all good fun. It's the 2 best dungeons in the game also. Orsinium is pretty good but drop rates for all the new motif are non existent...I mean the bosses don't even drop soul gems in the dungeons anymore. But the quests are the usual run here talk to whoever and run back and hand it in. A few are pretty good but there are 30 odd quests that take you back to the day 1 quests which irritated you. You can make some money out of it though. Plenty of mats and if you roll a new character everyday you can farm the gold receipe over and over. Sells for 25k+ to non dlc owners.
