Shield Breaker? Pff, Phoenix is the problem set

Sooo... Are there any plans on fixing this silly set that gives you 5-6 lifes per proc? Or do we have to deal with it for as it isn't some super important farming spot or so?

I've yet to meet someone who actually managed to get away or kill someone after this set proc... just a waste of time.

I don't dare hoping for a fast fix, but it is needed as with all the *** ZOS produced this update again.

I have yet to see it proc multiple times in a row, maybe it's just me /shrug.

It does happen, but I think it has something to do with the ten minute cooldown being far shorter (although that's a guess). If you kill someone virtually immediately after the proc they die for good. If you start to stray into the 30 second territory though they regularly get another proc (and shouldn't).

Imho I think it's bad design for this game to have sets with extremely powerful procs with extremely long 10min cooldowns, although I don't have a problem with the phoenix set per se I guess. It wouldn't be fun to have a 5pc 100k dmg proc with 10min cooldown either.

It´s bugged.

Most ppl use it because of this very reason.

That´s the state of the community. Better abuse every bug in the game while you can. Winning is more important than anything else.

Try fighting a large group with at least half of them wearing this set.

I tried it out on my Templar, but I can only think of one specific time it might have helped me. The four piece is good, but I don't care for the five. It seems like mostly bads are using it, along with some trolly sorcs.

Kagrenacs hope is just better in every aspect for sorcs if you´re wearing a 5p set. The sole reason to use it atm is the broken 5p bonus.

Oh I can assure you it is bugged, after having to kill the same sorc 5 times till he finally died. The other times he was stuck at 1% health and then healed up to 80% or so. Very very annoying and kinda dangerous for any kind of pvp if a raid decides to run their magicka chars on this set.

The cooldown doesn't trigger if they are CC'd when it procs. It's as simple as that. So don't CC them when you're killing them, if you know they run Phoenix (not ideal, i know)

Can't confirm this yet, but even it is true, can you imagine being able to do so against a group of 20 enemies? Can you see the problem here?

I would have went for Kagrenac probably if they didn't buff Willpoer on PTS, but this way I don't even lose a set bonus with Phoenix.

2v2'd two kind templars last night, one of them just never died due to the pheonix set. My friend and I just waited after the third time it mock-procced to kill him, setting off the actual proc.

If things like the double Mundus bug and sharpened dual wield bug are anything to go by, ZOS will wait months and months to fix this. ZOS really need to start fixing bugs and exploits of this sort ASAP. When you don't fix bugs and exploits ASAP, they become part of the meta. And when they become part of the meta, you cannot figure out how to balance the classes and skills properly. What is overpowered or underpowered on its own? What is overpowered or underpowered simply via exploits? Will fixing the exploits result in balanced gameplay? Or will fixing the exploits simply let other, legitimate balance issues come to the surface?

One of you mind enlightening me why Kagrenac is better? Not that i'll ever get round to using it at 8 traits.

Max magicka, max health, magicka recovery, 226 (I think) spell damage, 25% faster ressing speed.

If people say they wear phoenix only because the 2-4 pieces bonuses are so good (I agree, they are, and they are the same as Magnus and Maras Eyes btw.) and the 5 pieces bonus because why not, they are definetely better off with Kagneracs Hope. Well, except if they want to keep using the broken bonus or they really prefer the second life every 10 minutes over 100 spell damage, 1k health and 25% ressing speed.

Btw, I don't blame anyone for using it. It's what ZOS' decisions lead to. If you don't intend on fixing broken stuff, people are gonna use it because ZOS shows them they simply don't care. Was the same for multiple bugs and exploits in 1.6.

The majority of players using Phoenix set is because is broken and nothing else,fought a player using the set the other day and it proced 4 times in 30 sec at the end ive killed him/her but if you encounter more than one player using it the level of silliness will reach over 9000 hopefully the fix is coming tomorrow on NA and Tuesday on EU.

Ive only experienced this once, where a sorc had it procc twice in 30 seconds, he still died, but I had to waste another 30 seconds killing him again.

I used this set for a little while and I have yet to have it proc more than once before the cool down was up... maybe it's just me though... I've also never seen it proc more than once for anyone else... maybe this is a pc thing? I'm in ps4

It's probably the same timer routine they're using for the rearming trap :-)

I tried Phoenix, but for me it was broken the other way: I got the proc animation but didn't revive. Set went on cool down though.
