But seriously, right now in the TES era, the lack of "dragonborn" is an integral part of the background, and as has been mentioned, will carry on for a while yet, until Tiber Septim reforges the empire at the end of the 2nd era, beginning the 3rd.
Really, people... "The Elder Scrolls" is NOT all "Skyrim". It's way more then that.
Okay. Never saw any piece of lore that stated that dragonborn could only exist along side dragons, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there, so ok, no dragonborn class.
I guess what I'm really after, is a new playable class or something big, like that. Since new video games came out recently, I've been noticing a steep drop off in people playing (Guild shops having hardly any merchandise, home campaign maps being over taken by enemy alliances, etc..) They need to do something big to get people playing again. I have too many hrs invested to watch such an amazing game become a failed experiment for Zenimax.0 -

lorewise the thuum exist in this era bro,. but the greybeards are assumed none existant, while in skyrim they stated they kept going ever since the last dragons,. now also forgive me the typo but paaturnax (you know that elder dragon on the top of the throat of the world) is alive and in await of Alduin,. so technicaly when ever they open that part of the skyrim. and you go there, he should be there,. HE WONT,. but lorewise he should,. but lorewise also no one goes there,. till the dragonborn gets called in what is it, 1000 years from now ingame?

If they kill the lore then that would be the day eso servers shut down and the game is finished.
I'm not sure exactly what platform you play on, but on pc it's plenty busy, console is much quieter because most players are casual, and playing other games atm.
A new class would also be a disaster, as with the current 4 classes balance is a mess and needs adressing, and it makes no sense to add another class.
Between all 4 classes you have every possible type of build and playstyle.0 -
americansteel✭✭✭✭There ARE dragons. They are just dormant/sleeping/trapped in Aetherius or otherwise temporarily predisposed at the moment. Things like this happen in Nirn, but they can also unhappen. The Elder Scrolls have been known to change, and with that events can happen that were not aforementioned. That being said, we could easily see DLC dragons at some point.
yet the scrolls did not foretell of dragons during this dragonbreak. No where in lore says theire are dragons in the skys of nirn. they are dead, except 1 supposedly.

ok, I've seen this a bunch of times. However, there are also many quests where we "go back to a time in a the past as another person" so this argument holds no water what so ever. There could easily be a quest where we go back to an age when the dragons were present in the world.

Don't forget that Dragon Knights are basically using the thu'um already. They don't state it outright, but it's there if you read around a little.

you got that right, a lot never tried it because they can have what this game has, but with dragons... this game is not that unique you know... no matter what you say, there are a lot of other games like eso... and before you say for me to play them, well.. I love this game for personal reasons... not because its unique... so I want dragons so it can be better than it is^^ (for me) (and because dragons will make more people play it, so it can last longer)

I agree 100% I forget his name but the lore master for eso stated in a previous episode of eso live stated that Bethesda allows him to be creative in order to fill in certain gaps in elder scrolls lore. He has even went as far as creating new creatures like in wrothgar, those creatures with the big antler and six legs were made up by him not Bethesda. I'm sure zos can make something up that's lore friendly just to give us dragons.0 -

are you joking? the so called time travel quest in skyrim was to learn how to defeat alduin or postpone the time ending.
according to lore there would be no reason to add such a thing as time travel to beat a dragon, ESO conflicts involve daedric princes and three banners war no mentioning of dragons in this short period of time inflicting harm on mortals, adding dragons would be a call for a new ES title.

Part of this game's unique-ness comes from its own Lore, which if you loved this game like you claim to, you would respect that. It's combat system is rather unique as far as MMOs go. It's also one of the VERY VERY few MMOs playable on a current gen console, and the ability to have a single class have tons of different play styles sets this game apart from the others. If your only reason to not play is "No Dragons" then the community as a whole is better off without them, as it takes a pretty inept person to love something 99% but not enjoy it because there was 1 cliche'd creature missing. That's literally the same as being a mega-fan of WoW but refuse to actually play the game because not all dwarves had beards.
