And you what's your opinion regarding this? What got you the most excitted? What is YOUR predictions?
For those that have difficulties to understand my accent, this is the written text (no mocking for my spelling mistakes please)Darien
In The Elder Scrolls Online, you will often meet recurrent characters along your adventures. Darien Gauthier is one of those.
When you join the Daggerfall Covenant, you meet him for the very first time in Camlron. Darien Gauthier is a charismatic young captain of the Guard, easy on the eye, smooth talker, epicurean and seducer, certainly one of the most beloved character of The Elder Scrolls Online with Naryu and Razum'Dar. You will meet him again in Stormhavean, Rivenspire, Bankorai and finaly, Coldharbour where he will play a keyrole to defeat Molag Bal's shemes. During this final assault, you leave Darien behind, not knowing if he is dead or alive. He is simply.... gone.
In the events of Orsinium, Alinor, the alchemist that worked with Darien in Camlorn wil share his true feelings.
"I had hoped to run into my old friend Darien here. This is just the sort of situation he loved to find himself in.
I know something happened in COldharbour, but I can't believe he is dead: He is out there, somewhere: I can feel it in my bones.
I have a couples ideas. Not ready to share them yet, but I won't stop until I find him in some brothel in Abah'sLanding or at a tavern in Murkmire."
Does that mean we will find Darien in the next DLC in Abah'sLanding? Probably not. It seems the devellopers have other plans for him.
In the Library of the Trinimac Temple in Orsinium, one should check carefully all books. Beware that you will only have access to the Temple Library once, during the main storyline of Orsinium. You can not access this library before or after. In one of the shelf, the first or second one on the right, called "Insolite" you will find an item out of place. It's a letter written by Darien.
It's such a relief for so many players to finaly learn that Darien is still alive, kept prisoner in some otherworldy realm, and that we might very well see him again. Actually, instead of meeting him in a brothel, I've the intuition that we will have the occasion to set him free from wherever his prison can be.
Murkmire
Murkmire had been revealed to the public during the Quakecon presentation of 2014. We have seen concept art of the zone, aswell as some preview of the monster that we might encounter and a short walkthrough different areas already completed. Murkmire was planed to be the second adventure zone. But during a long time we didn't heard about what was planed for Murkmire. Considering the mitigated success or unsuccess of Craglorn, one could wonder if Murkmire was still being under developement.
The concept of adventure zone never got the success expected. A great deal of players complained to be enforced into group content and having difficulties to complete their quest. Others find furstrating to never find partners to enjoy the storyline at a slow pace. The zone had been used for mob farming to grind level faster, and the devellopers had to find ways to discourage this activity by nerfing the experience gained. Wich turned to make Craglorn a not very active zone.
The fact that Gina Bruno asked during a ESOlive to the devellopers she was speaking with if Murkmire was still being worked on, suggest that the original plans for zone had been changed. We can speculate over this in various ways. Maybe the devellopement of Murkmire had been halted to focus on other content, while the devellopers changed their views regarding the zone. Many changes happened to The Elder Scrolls Online since QuakeCon 2014, and it's obvious that the develloper tean had to revise their priorities.
Will Murkmire still be the adventure zone it was originally planed? Or will it be used to implement a solid storyline, and soloable content, in the line of what Orsinium had to offer? Considering that Orsinium was generaly praised and appreciated by the players, I can easily imagine the devellopers abandonning the concept of adventure zone, or adapting it in such a way to fit better solo play, while keeping some group activities such as world bosses and public dungeons.
No matter, the fact that Alinor speaks about Murkmire is a proof that the project had not been abandonned and there is still plans to bring it to live. Some players believed that the Darkbrotherhood quest line would take place in Murkmire, which would have been sensible considering the Lore, but since then we do know with certainty that it will not be the case, as the DarkBrotherhood DLC will transport us on the Gold Coast of Cyrodiil.
Thief Guild
We all know that the next DLC to be published is the Thief Guild and will happen in Abah's Landing. We will have a lot more informations regarding this in january, but meanwhile, its pleasant to find little clues in Orsinium.
During your adventures in Wrothgar, if you visit the prison of the Orsinium Keep, you will meet Zabani. Zabani is a "poor" Khajiit victim of a misunderstanding and enclosed in jail for a crim she said to not have commited. Very fast you will understand she is somehow involved with the Thief Guild. If you help her to get free, she will share with you her story.
While this quest doesn't teach us much about the content we can expect in the Thief Guild DLC, Zabani may be a character of minor or major importance that we will see again during our next adventures.
Abah's Landing had been shown to the public for the first time during a short trailer showing off various zones that were worked on. Not much had been revealed yet regarding this content beside Matt Firor assuring us in an interview that it will be " Tons of fun and already grafically better than Orsinium". We know that the city will play with heights and as we can already see on the footage it seems to be a nice playground for thief and bandit roleplay with rooftop and the likes. It has also been suggested that the Thief Guild chain quest will get us revisit various places of Tamriel. At this point, everything else is speculation.
We also know that a new Trial will be included with this DLC but we have no idea of the themes that will be choosen for this Trial. For a long time I though that it would be Clockwork City that had also be shown to the public in the very same trailer than Abah Landing. To have a Trial set up in the Dwemmer theme would have made perfect sense. Players are fascinated by the Dwemmer Lore. There is currently several Dungeons with Dwemmer theme and the Dwemmer machines certainly can become intersting bosses proposing a large variety of mechanics and strategies to be defeated.
But if its not ClockWork City, what could it be? A Redguard - Yokudan themed trial? This is unlikely considering that HellRa citadel was already a Yokudan ruin. COuld it be a large hidout of bandit and pirate? A bit in the line of Blackheart Haven, a pirate city that met a lot of success among players? This is possible, but the new Trial might aswell not be related to the Thief Guild theme.
ClockWork City
In the ruins of Rkindaleft one of the two Public Dungeon of Orsinium, you will meet Cinosarion, who sent you on a quest to continue his researchs. He also share an interesting information regarding what he belief cause the transormation of the strange orcs rampaging the place.
While this information barely share with us a glimpse of the existence of the Clockwork city, we find no other clue or piece of lore related to the mytical city in the public Dungeon.
However, once you finish the story line of Orsinium and if you have previously finished the main story line of The Elder Scrolls Online and defeated Molag Bal, you will see the Prophete appearing before you and sharing an very important message about the future.
This information prove that ClockWork City is a location of major importance for the future plot of The Elder Scrolls online. From there, a whole new story will happen.
We have no other informations, and we can speculate many things regarding this. It is very important to underline - and especially for those that would not have played the previous Elder Scrolls games, and in particular Morrowind - ClockWork City is the theater of a major plot that will see the end of the Tribunal several centuries after the event of The Elder Scrolls Online. So what can we expect to happen in this timeline? The self proclaimed God Sotha Sil is still supposed to reshape the world and life in his city at this time. Will we meet him? Will he sent us on a quest? Will we have to defend him? To confront him? Will ClockWork City be a new hub, like the capital Orsinium or the city of Belkarth, or will it be the place of many adventures? So many questions and no clear answers for now.
The War of the Daedra
As predicted by Velen Aquilerios, the Prophete: Boethia the Great Deceiver, Mephala The Sewer of Discord and Nocturnal the patron of Darkness are plotting a great deception. As allies or as ennemies, only future will tell us.
Considering that Nocturnal is related to the Thief Guild, Mephala to the Morag Tong and the Darkbrotherhood, and Boethia is the patron of the Dark Elves, we can guess the patern of the future events of the Elder Scrolls Online. But how will this happen?
The future plot of the game could be a long story told through many DLC, like the various chapter of a novel. We could start the plot by meeting Nocturnal in the next DLC, then Mephala, and after that in the fifth DLC that has not been announced yet, the Gates of ClockWorkCity would open, and the Wars predicted by the Prophete would only start at that point.
It could also be completely different and the events could happen a lot faster. Clockwork City would be included in the Thief Guild DLC (as quest hub, as Trial, who knows...) and this would be the immediate start of this big plot line that would continue for the following months and next DLC. Footage of Mephala's Realm had been presented to the public aswell, so we can imagine that the zone would be included with the Darkbrotherhood DLC that take place in the Gold coast of Cyrodiil, or separately. It could also be a new Dungeon.
I've read many players reacting and suggesting Zenimax is planning to release an expansion with this. But Matt Firor and Rich Lambert have been very clear at this subject. They like the DLC model and project to continue to release a new DLC four time a year. This also easier for the devellopers as theyu can focus to create smaller content at once, and its more interesting from a buisness point of view to sell several DLC by years that cost 20 $ than one expansion every two years that cost 60 $.
In any case, all those news are very excitting and promise an interesting future for The Elder Scrolls Online
