What about a console to PC limited time transfer?

As we all know, prior to console launch, eligible players were allowed to transfer a character from PC to console. Many did, including myself. I've been playing console since then, leveling up two more alts to max, but I just can't seem but to regret the decision to go full out console play. The itch of the master race calls to me again lol. In all seriousness though, how would you guys feel about some sort of limited time transfer from console to PC. And what sort of qualifications and rule sets do you think would work if ZOS did decide to let this happen?

Why not just go back to PC?

I think you really are asking that the console chars sync because you left PC to go to console as did I.
I'd personally not be willing to pay to copy my characters again but if they were synced I'd be willing to bounce back n forth.

I'm not looking for a sync. The simple logistics of being able to bounce back and forth on a regular basis seems like a programming nightmare. I'm just curious as to what the rest of the player base feels about a ONE TIME offer to be able to transfer a toon from console to PC. For me, the overall level of play was better on PC. At this point though, I'm far too invested with CP, gear, and play time to just start over again on PC.

I wish there was. Like you I switched and regret it. I now have 3 more V16 on console than I did on PC. Just the other week however I decided to just cut my losses and pick up back on PC. It sucked but I am glad I did. You are most likely going to have to just cut your loses too.

I was wondering how much red tape ZOS would have to go through in order to authorize it with Microsoft/Sony? It's because of that that cross-platform play is very, very rare with games.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

Yeah, you're probably right. It's definitely something worth pushing though. I know countless players who want to go back to PC, and maybe bring some of their hard work with them.

I am also a PC to console transfer and yes, I would pay to be able to transfer back

I think i have to agree with @BigMac_Smiley here other you cute your loses or you just simple make 2nd account for PC for what you are ask for if it will be add i think it is long time before that feature would be add.

Yeah I'd pay to have my account copied onto pc in a heartbeat. But why would sony/Microsoft allow ZOS to do this? Wouldn't it be taking players from their platform? And they really don't want that!

I don't think Console to PC transfers are something that happens very often in any game.

I started Warframe on PS4 for example and maxed out every Warframe, weapon and essentially maxed Mastery and then realised it was also on PC too but I just can't bring myself to re-do all that work on PC yet Digital Extremes say the only reason there aren't transfers is because of contracts with Sony.

I do feel bad for console players now as (in my opinion) there is no reason to play ESO on consoles anymore. You can get a PC that will have better graphics in ESO for only fractionally more than a console and you have all the benefits of PC with none of the drawbacks of console.

Hopefully one day Sony/ZOS allow these transfers but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I started on console and i had no idea it wasn't going to have addons or text chat i wished i would have known this before i bought it on ps4 if so i wouldn't have started on ps4 but i'm to far now on my characters to just pack up ship and move to pc i wished there was the option to switch my characters from console to pc

I would pay for transfer back to PC also... I really, really miss text chat! And some add-ons like skyshard/lorebooks, guild trader stuff, UI, etc were pretty nice as well.

However, i've already spend a lot of time leveling my characters on console, and i've dropped some cash in the store, so i really dont want to start over on pc again.

I have way too many friends and guild mates on PS4 to go back to PC.
Everytime I fire my PC version back up I think this is pretty then I see the horrible spam in zone chat and double the lag in Cyrodiil and just log back onto PS4.

Way too many logistics to keep both for me.

The ONLY way they were even able to copy PC to console was by mirroring accounts in before the game went Live to console, I do not think there is a way to do the same once the game went Live. Whether it is a coding issue or what between the console versions and PC, but I do not think it is possible anymore nor would it be financially feasible for them to pull their programmers off other responsibilities to manually code each time a player wanted to switch.

To play on a gorgeous "70 tv with surround sound, a nice sleek comfortable controller that doesn't leave you feeling lobster claw hands after hours of gameplay. To play from the comfort of couch rather than edge of computer chair. Not have to run all the BS mods, team speak all that garbage.
As a transfer, I still have ESO on my PC. Right where I left off.

Well that's odd because I play with a controller on PC just fine with my 59" TV. This sounds more like a L2E (learn to equip) issue than PC vs Console. ;)

Well, on PC I had guilds and in game friends, but once the console version came up for pre-order, alot of my buddies irl preordered. I figured switching would make sense in order to enjoy the game with, and be able to help out my local buddies. Within a few months of launch, most of them dropped the game, so the switch ended up being for nothing really.

So I'm guessing there is no way to do that yet? The PS4 version came to me by way of convenience and also while I was PC-less, and I've put a ton of time into my main (I've nearly cleared everything on the AD side) and I really don't want to start over. But, at the same time, my PC is running again, and I'd much rather play on PC than console.

There's no reason why it shouldn't be allowed for Xbox One -> PC transfer, considering Microsoft makes both the Xbox One and Windows is made by Microsoft (and let's face it, Mac computers are an absolute joke) and the Xbox One/Windows 10 sync is going to be taking place soon. They wouldn't be losing a single customer, so I can't fathom any good reason for them to not allow it.

I know a lot of people who wanna go console who bought it for pc because they didn't have a ps4 but now a year later and cp capped have a ps4 but can't justify starting over again... I think they should offer transfers paid or otherwise and do the switches during the maintenance times each week. As well as maybe add a cooldown to that accoubt like 3-6 months before being able to swap again or just make it a one time thing once you swap that's it?

Most of my friends ended up on xbox under tge impression they could cross play with ps4 and pc (former ff arr players) others missed the wagon to transfer as well so now there's about 12 of us unable to play together

Why not just go back to PC?

I think you really are asking that the console chars sync because you left PC to go to console as did I.

I myself didn't start with PC. Picked this up a year ago for Console and besides my very minor interest in BF4 multiplayer I have absolutely no other reason to pay for Xbox Live Gold besides this game. The original reason I got it for Xbox is mostly due to my lack of PC Elitism. If a Triple A title comes out that I want to play, I immediately default to Console cause I know that will run it.

I am happy playing on Xbox and would not want to switch, but I do know my husband would love if there was a way to send over some of the stuff from his PC account to his Xbox account. He originally thought he didn't want to play the game, due to the issues it had at launch (so no pay-to-transfer when that was an option, as he wasn't playing), but now he goes into a speech about how he should have the monkey pet on his account any time he sees a monkey in the game.

So I just wish there was a way to get the monkey on his empty PC account onto his Xbox account so I can stop hearing about it. :D:s
