Though I still like the idea of being able to buy a small walk-in tent you can set up anywhere in the wilderness and pack up again when you're ready to move onto your next destination. I don't like staying in the same place too often, and having the ability to camp wherever I wanted to would be awesome.
The tent would come complete with a campfire you can use for cooking as well!

I really hope they give us this option @Alucardo . I posted a concept back in October 2014 for a rested bonus concept (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/137394/expanded-rested-bonus-concept/p1). In that concept I suggested that ZOS allow us to rent a room in Inns (the fact that we can't do this is blatantly NON-TES), set out a bedroll (no camp, just a bedroll, set up a camp, or rest in our homes. Rest wouldn't be a requirement but those that do "rest' properly get a little bit of a boost.
I still love the idea.MarrazzMist wrote: »a house anywhere. But these are places I felt like home during playthroughs
Oh, neither do I @MarrazzMist . In my post suggesting a 3 phase release plan for housing (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/145287/another-housing-suggestion-a-3-phase-release-plan/p1) I mention the possibility of in-city apartments, wilderness cottages, and instanced plots of land accessible though coves or passageways from the main map. I really don't think "place your home anywhere" would be right for ESO.UltimaJoe777 wrote: »We don't know what Zenimax plans to do with this yet though. Yea @UltimaJoe777... hence the use of the conjunction IF in my OP. I used it twice and both times it was used in the context that IF can be used to talk about the result or effect of something that may happen or be true.
Others have discussed the possibility of us living on a "plane of oblivion"... I really hate that idea. It seems like a cop-out. I would be fine if that were an option for players but to have it be the ONLY form of housing? That would just be cheap.Wrothgar
The home of my Orc brother and sisters.
But i want it in a tall tower, with every crafting station and a personal dwarven automaton banker to hold my goods.
I hope that every DLC release will see Housing expanded, once Housing is released of course. We have had some discussions regarding what should or shouldn't be included in homes so we don't rob the cities of their usefulness. I personally 100% disagree that we should have bank access in our homes. I think banks are fine as they are. I do, however, have a suggestion for a summonable banker that I posted back on Feb 2nd. (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/149698/summonable-beast-merchants-and-banker-concept/p1)
And Crafting Stations really are a must in personal spaces but I think they should make them a little different from regular crafting stations so there is a reason to still visit in-town crafting stations. My suggestions are here (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/208786/player-home-personal-crafting-stations-concepts/p1)In White-Gold Tower :P
LOL @AngryNord... I could see that being an option for those that achieve Emperorship. It would be awesome to give players more incentive to go after that.
After the player housing was mentioned, I got to touring the Pact again. With ESO Housing on the way (at some point) I've been wondering where I would like to live if ZOS introduced homes/rooms/apartments to rent/live in in every town and city.
Personally... I'd love to live in Fell's Run in Rivenspire. There's something tranquil and quaint about that little town. it feel like "Home"
Where would you choose to live if you could live anywhere in Tamriel? Post pictures if you have or can obtain them!

Unfortunately, they can't possibly

How can they not @Tyr ? Just about every single town and city in ESO have doors that are locked or otherwise unavailable. ZOS could open those doors and make them instanced homes. You walk in.. it's your house. I walk in, it's my house.
I wasn't meaning that you build a house anywhere. I even said:if ZOS introduced homes/rooms/apartments to rent/live in in every town and city.

Ah sorry, I missread. Yeah I agree. Instanced homes in existing areas are most likely.
Player housing is likely to be in the style of Skyrim where you can buy property in major cities but the house is instanced to you(or group leader if you want to invite others). It would be interesting though if they made guild halls that you can bid on like guild traders, though.
Phase 1: Allow purchase of pre-existing homes within city boarders.
Phase 2: Allow purchase of pre-existing homes in the wilderness that have material farms attached to them.
Phase 3: Allow the purchase of in-world instanced plots of land where players will construct their own homes.

That would be great!Though I still like the idea of being able to buy a small walk-in tent you can set up anywhere in the wilderness and pack up again when you're ready to move onto your next destination. Yeah... those fixed-location portals? They're called "Wayshrines".I really hope they do this sort of thing @TheShadowScout. Litter the map with locations that we can call our own. Simply place them behind a door/path that will load into our own little instance of that space.TheShadowScout wrote: »Well, my favorites depend on what best fits my characters of course...

My Dunmer Librarian would love to live near Shad Astula, for their collection of books...
My Orsimer Craftsmistress likes Orsinium, and might be thinking of renting a room there...
et cetera.
And then ZOS pulls off a Runescape and simply places portals that lead to our own houses/instances at fixed locations
@runagate That "weird inaccessible town" is Bravil.Of places that already currently are accessible in-game?
In order: Stirk, Eyevea or that weird inaccessible town by the AD gates in the SE of Cyrodiil so I only had to run a short way to stab Twilight fan elves.
@Blud Could? What do you mean could?Anvil.

That's always been a beautiful spot for me. It could be a pve zone expansion of Cyrodiil
