Trinimac's valor

Does everyone else have this set drop 100 times more often than ANY other set? Or am I just extremely unlucky?

Why have a new set like this that no one is going to use.... mayyyybe it has a use for a healer? but probably not. Maybe a Magicka DK? Cast the shield all the time (but only when you're in a group)... still... probably not worth it.
So for one... why is it even in the game if it will never be used (especially as an add in for NEW content)?
and two.... why does it drop WAYYY more often from the daily wrothgar rewards? It's ridiculous..

I could have made this 5p 10 times over already.... while i'm still waiting to make ONE 5p set of briar/pariah.

No! I have Pariah drop WAY WAY too much. It's a pity I'm not a tank or that these pieces are BoP

Probably bad rng. I get them all and really regret them being BoP because I have no use for them AT ALL lol.
Trinimac is not bad by the way, especially for a DK healer.

Making all this stuff BoP is kinda silly imo though.

I'm with Aquanova on this one. Gotten so many pariah pieces, and 8 of the shoulders. Out of the three sets I mostly get pariah, then trinimac, then from time to time briarheart (but those are generally duplicates of pieces i'm currently wearing so...).

Correction, just did the math and the drops for me are 40% pariah, 36% trinimac, 24% briarheart. Not quite as bad but after getting so many shoulder pieces... Least its better than my 40% arena drops being well fitted.

I was wondering if it would be worth it for a dk to use... but i don't know anyone that uses the dk as a healer.

IF you use Igneous Shield (the one that increases your healing done) with Draw Essence (which siphons health and then returns magicka when the AoE explodes) with Almalexia's Mercy necklace and armor and Trinimac rings and armor so you have two 5/5 Sets I can see it working for a DK meta-healer (jumps into groups to AoE and shields and heals) I could see it being beneficial in Trials or PvP zergs. I used to heal on my magicka DK with Almalexia's and Healer's Habit.

Course, simply wearing Desert Rose and Healer's Habit would likely work better for this AoE/heal/shield build.

No, because it's actually one of the sets I want to try out. I get Briarheart right left and centre, because my highest stamina DPS is level 36 right now.

That's how the RNG works in this game. :-P

I seem to get so much Pariah i've lost count of how many duplicate pieces I've had to decon, followed by a moderate amount of Trinimacs and a very low drop rate on Briarheart stuff. Took me so so so much longer to get a workable 5 piece v15/16 Briarheart set than any of the others. In fact i believe i had a workable 5 piece Pariah set (mix of V15/16 but with decent traits and 3 Pieces jewellery) before I even saw my first Briarheart drop lol.

Guess which set i wanted?

I have this sneaky feeling that if I had a magicka V16 to farm on rather than 2 V16 stam builds i would have seen Briarheart dropping a lot more. 'RNG' in this game certainly seems to work in an oddly biased way, for me at least.

Doesn't sound very random to me.... I feel like there is more to it.
Random numbers don't take sides. All options should even out over time... not act like a bell curve. (pariah on the left, trinimacs in the middle, briar on the right)
The drops for me would be like flipping a coin 50 times and ending up with it on tails 43 of the 50.... extremely unlikely.

If i've been doing the wrothgar dailies since orsinium came out... and i only have 3 pieces of the briar set (because i'm doing stamina dps and i want that set) but have received 20+ pieces of trinimacs set (magicka set that i have zero uses for)
I feel like they have it tied to something like your highest stat.... lower drop rates for stam gear if you have mostly stamina?
I dunno... a crazy theory but it feels like its happening lately.

You aren't the only one that has that exact same feeling. At very least that is what has happened for me in the past couple of months.

If that's the way it's working.... then that is insanely stupid... it's bad enough to have BoP items everywhere. Now they want to lower the chances of the set that matches you best?

I understand you have to put in time and effort to get the gear you want.... but on the other side of it... People want to enjoy the gear DURING the end game material. Endless gear grind is not = end game material. Who the hell has time to grind nodes for mats, do the wrothgar dailies, do the undaunted dailies, grind sewers for stones, grind Cyrodiil for AP and alliance skills?

We should be able to find/create the gear in a reasonable amount of time so we can actually USE it in dungeons and group play.

Thanks for wasting my time even more...the "longevity" ideas for this game are going to have the opposite effect.
Plain and simple.

EDIT: When i started this post, i was honestly under the impression that the drop rate for trinimacs was just higher.... now that i've seen some of your replies, i understand now that the drops aren't as "random" as we are led to believe.

My sorcerer seems to get mostly Trinimac with a bit of Pariah, and my DK seems to get Briarheart *shrug*

During the first 30 days of the DLC, I did all 6 world bosses and dungeon daily every day that I could. I wish I tracked it better, but I was able to get 5 V16 Briarheart pieces pretty quickly. This is what I wanted. It took awhile to get 5 that I wanted. I'm still hoping I'll get a better trait for arms, but I've stopped grinding these for the most part.

I know for a fact I only received 2 V16 Pariah pieces, because I saved them. I got about 9 Briarheart total, a few bad rings that I sold off. The rest is Trinimac. I saved a 5 set of Trinimac just in case I ever want to use it, but I'm constantly finding it. I was able to get decent traits for the whole set I found it so often.

Sucks that the RNG works that way. Would be better if treasure that is BoP would look at your equipped items and base it on what you use.

@jakeedmundson , I know someone who's currently healing on his DK and I've seen Trinimac in action and trust me it's worth it XD He's shielding a lot more than he's healing, too.

Also, I think it's not a secret by now that ZOS RNG simply sucks. It isn't random. I'm not sure which stats it uses to determine the "randomness" and if they're character or account based(my bet is on character) but it is way too wonky to be truly random. They need to fix the algorithm. Pretty much everyone I know agrees with that.
I used to have a friend(still do, he just isn't playing atm) who was like the RNG god himself. He got a helm in infused/divines literally EVERY run for WEEKS. A shoulder in infused/divines/occasional reinforced I think EVERY chest. As a DK he got light Infused Valkyn shoulder literally first pledge he did.
On the contrary, another one of my friends ran vet EH literally over 300 times when Undaunted just came out and didn't get ONE Bogdan's head.
Me, my RNG is bad, though not quite as bad as that poor EH guy...but it took me several hundred DC runs to get an EG heavy helm as well and when I did it was well-fitted. In the meanwhile, I'd gotten about 8 medium infused ones. I've also been trying to get Glass motif lately and you know how you get a random chapter when you put 10 fragments together? How does 3 Bow chapters in a row sound?
It may simply be something about your character determining the sets droprate that makes the "random" rng tilt not in your favor or something. I seem to be having decent luck with drops from Wrothgar dailies, unfortunately I don't need any of them and regret being unable to sell/give them away greatly.

EDIT: Actually, I think I might start a thread on the whole RNG thing, I'm bored with this maint and stuff:P

RNG is RNG, and it differs for everyone. It's all luck and nothing will ever change that. This is the way it is not just in every MMORPG but every RPG period! Sucks, I know (and believe me I do lol), but whuddyagunnado?

By the way, I heard RNGeebus is a Daedric Prince.

I was originally hunting Briarheart, but I was getting lots of Trinimac drops instead. I started thinking "maybe Trinimac would be a good jewelry regen set for my healer" and BAM, Trinimac drops stopped cold.

I swear the RNG in this game is slightly psychic.

Even as a tank Pariah isn't good as the 5th bonus only fully procs when you're at 0.1% health.

I'm DK - get lots of Briarheart not so much Trinimac or Pariah. Go figure. Not random imo.
