Bind on pickup (Again? Still? whatever...)

This needs to stop. Just... stop.
You go to a dungeon with a diverse group, you get some really awesome armor. Too bad it's utterly useless to you because you don't WEAR heavy armor, you wear LEATHER. But one of your guys, oh yeah. He'd LOVE it. But it's bind on pickup.

So.. BoP is useless and needs to stop.

They were talking about possibly implementing Bind to Group, so that this situation could be remedied.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

    DC - PC - EU - Australian
VR11 Mrderrikk: Breton Stam Sorc (Vamp) | VR16 Derrikkinblack: Dunmer Mage DK | VR3 Cuts-Until-It-Dies: Argonian Magicka NB

    Oh look, Anook.

Bind to group would be better than bind on pickup, but I guess I'm missing something because, in a situation where you're picking something up, why bind at all? Maybe in some rare instances... but so many BoPs are just annoying and counter productive.

BoP is part of the carrot on the stick which keeps people playing, you have to keep doing something to get that thing you want. The failure of this is that people hate this system as they can play for months and still never get the item they want, whilst hundreds of that item might drop every day and just be banked because the person who does get it doesn't care about it.

The other thing it does is stop items being devalued by flooding the market with them, which is one complaint people have as there is no gear removal within the game.

Bind to Group would help a little but I think it should be reserved for final boss sets in dungeons/trials only and not all the sets which drop from milestone bosses or trash mobs.
I would still love to own a full set of Ebon, however I CBA to spend every moment of my online time grinding for a low chance drop which is a 1/3 drop to get the right set then a 1/7 chance to get the right part, made even worse if you add random traits into it like other sets.

Well, you have a point. We were in IC and unable to complete due to level, but I got some nice things that I would love to have been able to pass onto one of our group. Maybe Bind on Group would be a good compromise.

Yesterday i ran the vCoH pledge 7 times

Not even one person got a helmet. I have one vr6, one vr12 and one vr16 helmet and i must have done a hundred runs

Imho this is an even worse problem than bop, and the reason i dont even bother with the IC dungeons anymore

Looks like crafted gear is the way to go if you want to have versatility and options with your gear
Beesting, Bosmer Magica DK, AD EU, crafter
Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

Something sitting in my bank not being used or deconned for the tempers has no value, so it has been devalued to 0 just by being BoP and not something my characters can use.

The only things that should be BoP are certain rewards like the ones that come from the end of a complex quest or quest line. Everything else needs to be BoE. BoE has not reduced the value of Willpower rings or Agility Rings or VR12 Warlock Rings.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Agreed. I would love to see more things heading over to BoE and the guild stores once again having a meaning. This is also how you help money flow around the player base as players may get that rare item they don't need but could do with 100k more for that last bank slot.

Bind-on-pickup needs to be discontinued. The only thing that infuriates me more than being unable to sell or trade the loot I get running content in this game, is the fact that ZOS wants to add a vendor so that PvPers can get access to all the stuff we PvE players busted our arses for, because they "don't want to be forced to PvE to get their gear." Never mind the fact that we are still forced into PvP to get the Alliance War skills... maybe we should be given a vendor to purchase skills from? Because that makes sense, right?

Changing to bind-on-group would be a great start. It's been done before in many other MMOs, and as such I would argue it as a proven solution to the problem. But hey, let's take it a step further and say that we, as PvE players, who currently have virtually nothing to sell to other players besides raw materials and motifs, could actually sell the gear we get in these dungeons, trials, and adventure zones, to other players. This would require bind-on-equip, of course, but I fail to see an issue with that course of action. In fact, I see an efficient way to solve two problems.

IMy husband and I group up to do the Wrothgar dailies and all too often he gets something I could really use, and I get something he wants. The bind on group would certainly be a big help and allow us to swap pieces with each other. That would definitely be a good start.
