Broken Quest: Long Lost Lore

In Cheesemonger's Hollow I cannot continue after I defeat the second wave. Nothing else spawns and the portal is not interactable. I abandoned the quest line and started again with the same result.

I have this problem as well.
Its been like this ever since beta, and despite claims that it has been or promises that it would be fixed, it is still bugged.

During the end of the last beta 2 weeks ago they said they had a much more stable and bug free version of the game on the PTS.
I dont see how this version of the game is any less buggy then the one we had during beta.

We are basically paying to bug test the game here.
Bugs that were promised would be fixed have still not been fixed.

Same here... I abandoned quest and did it again with same result. Relogged, restarted game, reloaded UI... Nothing helped... Someone on zone chat said it worhed for him when he did quest second time. It didn't for me...

I've tried this a few times as well and also can't get pass it. Nothing happens after you've killed the daedra.

same:
On the second wave I kill the daedra, the 2 scamps after it and then nothing happens... no mobs, no interaction.

yeah guys i made a bug report for it, but I know how to fix it... I did it

You have to abandon and retake.... I did 4 times be able to do it and it has a catch, a trick

You must be very near the portal during the fight, be able to do it whole! if you move further, the NPC stop spawning.

If you're class that has a minion or summon present while not being able to close the portal, De-spawn them for the fight. I was able to seal the portal fine after i did that.

I've been having the same problem, but not having my character's clannfear during the fight and keeping close to the portal did help. So, thanks for the tips!

I hope this is being looked into though, and might I suggest changing the quest so that if you have to abandon it and start over, it only takes you back as far as speaking with Shalidor outside the portal, or Valaste before that? Going back for the books each time was incredibly tedious.

I ran into this bug today. I took your advice and abandoned it, ran back and got it again, got the books and went through the whole thing. I made sure not to summon my minion this time and to stay near the portal. It worked flawlessly.

Should be in the mages guild in the first major city (Davon's Watch, Daggerfall or Vulkhel Guard)

having issues with the quest, i know this is an old thread so hoping to get some help. I got to the point where the port is opened for the first time and a friend needed my help so I ported to help him and for the life of me i cannot remember where the portal was, i tried the mage guilds and nothing, do i have to restart the quest line again ?
