Is being a vampire not worth it anymore?

    With the rise of vamp one shot builds, its safe to say vamp is not worth it unless you are a ganker and need the movement speed or a tanky templar who can spam bol 24/7.

    With that being said, there are many who can minimize the negatives of vamp - by their play style and situational awareness.

    So it really depends on the player him/herself to determine whether vamp is a weakness or a strength.

    Ive used it since day one in pvp i barely get one shotted by dawnbreaker. make sure to feed inbetween castles stay stage one and you wont have many issues and still maintain all passive

    Pretty much every reason given above seems to assume that PvP is either the only or the primary reason to make a decision in the game.

    If, like the other 90% of the players in the game though, you're interested in PvE, then vamp has a lot of advantages, and several of the disadvantages quoted in this thread are entirely non-issues. For example Mobs don't get Evil Hunter, so as a PvE player there's no reason to care about that, or pretty much any of the other counters that are causing the posters above so much angst.

    There will always be someone better than you out there ,but vampire Templar magic builds are strong. The thing is one definitely has to learn how to play it. Countering fire damage with elemental defender in the cp tree is awesome stuff. As a vamplar I love devouring I can simply waltz around tossing whatever skill and ooops! out of mana pop devouring bats and spamm heavy attacks now I got manna and fully healed lets roll.

    I personally like the 5 heavy magic armor it gives me nice sustain on blocking and a moderate boost to hp and regen. I have enough cp to make up decent regen and spell damage. Nirn on my staff for penetration and resist was wonderful. I also personally feed to stage 2 vamp it doesn't require it so often like every hour or so because of the passives for vamp. Why I feed I like the extra 200 hp regen I get back. Yeah my ult is more pricey this way but its regen comon' ! Any ways it works for me, hope it inspires others to try it. Just stick with it till you figure it out.

    Nothing like taking on a zerg with Devouring Swarm on my DK =). Just gota stay alive long enough for my buddy to drop her meteor right in the middle. Then the slaughter continues.

    What? You do know what stage your at has no effect on fighters guild abilities?

    They do a flat 60% odd increased damage regardless if your stage one or four.

    Also stage one is terrible, the increased ultimate and mist form cost is not worth it

Since you need a skill slotted on both bars for the regen, with the increased damage from passives and skills being a lot to mitigate. Batswarm is pretty much what you're bartered for since Mistform is often buggy.

    Im only vampire because of bats ... it might not be worth it though so I should just slot meteor instead and cure vampirism. Dw+camo hunter+heavy attack from stealth = death, and it happens waaaay too often due to everyone and their mothers playing nightblade.

    Meteor is great, I like it a lot, but has nothing to do against Batman.

    Batman is Batman. You feel like Batman running through the Arkham Asylun while the patients see you with open mouths...

    It is the best Ulti in game. It feels like an ulti, a movement that can change the entire fight. Just a few skills can do that in this game (maybe soul tether, a well placed standard, meteor and maybe WW transformation). But the price is to high with the current state of FG skills.

    I cured my Vamp. Though I miss Batman, I can live without it...

    I'm mostly a vamp because of RP reasons and templars magicka have no mobility.

    Always either a vamp or ww, who wouldn't want to be ?
