Wrecking Blow isn't OP. The lack of viable options is.

    I definitely agree with this post 100%. I still think ZoS needs to add two new skills per class ability for all types of classes (essentially 6 skills) to give more variety because that's what's killing me.

    My DPS bar consists of one DK ability due to how bad all my other skills due to lack of an execution ability and any real damage dealing abilities because ZoS though "Hey just give them DoTs, people can erase them will no penalty so it's even and even if they don't they have their CPs.".

    ye there is no reason ZoS can add more skills. just amke it fair for all skill lines that for class skills if you add 1 class skill make sure all classes get 3 skills (1 for each tree)
    same can be said of weapon skills.

    Depends on your build and class. If play a magicka DK or templar, than you do lack tools to deal with it.

    Cant outmanoeuvre or dance around a stamina build hammering Wrecking Blow when you have 0 mobility.

    Cant use feature abilities like block or dodge more than once or twice, you run out of stam.

    Cant shield it either because of how the blanket nerf ruined all shields scaling of health.

    Definitely cant out heal it.

    Cant bash.

    Cant mitigate hits with Mist Form, because cant play vampire any more in PvP.

    Only chance you have is cc and trying to burst down the Wrecking Blow spammer, to bad his burst is a lot better.

    The list of usable direct single target damage is an awfully small list....

    Wrecking Blow
    Surprise Attack
    Bitting Jabs
    Maybe.....throwing blade

    The list of usable stamina based AOE's is equally as short....

    Steel Tornado
    Arrow Barrage
    If you call the cone for butting jabs AOE, Bitting Jabs
    Maybe Power Extraction but Sap Essence is a much better skill

    The only stamina based heal in the game for PVE players who don't PVP is in the 2H.

    For all the skills morphs and versatility he choice are actually very limiting once you decide you actually want to do sow thing effectively and not just see pretty colors.

    wrecking blow? make it a serious 1shot candidate if landed vs no block or from stealth. if you face a spammer, just interrupt and win.

    ritual of rebirth? cast it and get interrupted to be ***, successfully cast it and do a lot more than simply overheal a few allies near you (e.g. store whatever has been healed as battery or damage shield or whatever, just be careful it doesn't become a precast skill)

    other strangely strong/highly debated or weak skills? make them super strong but interruptable (maybe even hardend ward).

    no idea if it's gonna work but imho instant spells, broken immunity timers and wonky effect ranges have had their chance.

    as long as blind skill spamming is the best thign you can do in many situations, people will do it and those killed will be frustrated. this is absolutely not exclusive to WB. jab jab jab, spamm 2-3 shields in succession, surprise attack and even the master weapon builds spamming ransack.

    it get's even worse in group combat. in some fights just using self buffs and exclusively pressing steel tornado, BoL or on some builds even purge/clease or maneuver can be close to perfectly playing your role in the fight. Oh how I'd love to see that changed.

    this makes less build viable which is already a problem and would break pve

    tbh pve is just as broken. many mechanics make it much harder to meele and force you to leave the perferct rotation every now and then. now if you would make meele stronger so that dd's will hit the same number on say, inhibitor, lord warden or some of the msa stuff, SO and co. would ONLY by run by those classes because the enounters in the traditional trials mostly still allow for perfect rotations even as meele.

    yes, my answer was primarily directed at pvp, but if you compare the effort to beat vMSA on a stamina meele with a run on a sorc, you have to agree that some changes won't hurst a currently perfect balance...

    hell, we have great stamina dds who still don't have a no-death achievment for the IC dungeons. current pve content jsut favors ranged dd's (magicka since bows don't deal damage and stamina class abilities are meele) so much reworking the combat system a bit doesn't make you lose too much...

    This thread is golden! I agree.

    Tough IF they add instant damage skill like stamfrags/stamwhip they HAVE to be physical damage in the tooltip like ambush/surprise attack/biting jabs so they scale with mighty CP or they will be subpar to wrecking blow still .

    Can I just say something?

    I literally almost never see Wrecking Blow in my recap, and I think I know why...

    I play my magicka NB ranged style; cripple, entropy, swallow spam. If dudes get close I fear them.
    I didn't really think of it while creating my build, but I think I'm the anti-WB.

    The problem with WB I get on my DW/SnB Stam Sorc. All squishy and tiny I charge on in only to find the other guy's club is bigger than mine. On my magirangeblade (it's a word!) I live and breathe to never get close enough for WB to be a problem. Or die if it does.

    The most effective bane of my magirangeblade (coined and minted) is actually flying blade. But on the other hand, that's the most effective skill for my stam sorc.

    The moral of the story is: Rock, paper, scissors.

    I like the idea of a Lightning whip, so why not take it a little farther and base it off the staff your using. That way you could have Fire, Ice and Lightning with after effects like reducing your resistance to that elemental area for x seconds or a DoT. Since it's Elemental damage it should scale off magicka though and not stamina. If your using a Bow or Duel Wield, then it would be a Stamina attack and a bleed affect DoT.

    On topic: the almighty crit charge wb spam groups are insane lately. I ran into a combo earlier where one guy did nothing but root and WB me while his buddy did nothing but light attack executioner me...........

    Even if they gave us other options it will still be spammed alot. Other options will need CC to compete since cc immunity is still broken.
