You do not take 4 lone soldiers and hope you break in. You take 24. Complete with siege, battering rams, healers and battle ready fighters.
A Platoon is not a zerg...... it is a group of soldiers working together.
Not sure if I can apply this to IC.... which always strikes me as a small pvp area.... spies and scouts.
Red, yellow or blue...... groups of soldiers in Cyro are there to fight. They are NOT zergs. They are platoons..... indeed sometimes regiments.
Nobody complains about bunch of ppl attacking/deffing keeps or whatever... Hell, you can go and attack a keep with 100 ppl, but dont go then and stack upon each other like a bunch of ...., sticking from each others asses, on a 1 sqare cm of space, spaming AoE attacks/heals. Then, my friend you lag out the entire server, for everyone, and those are not regiments, just a bunch of .... who doesnt know better.
+1. Cyrodiil is not designed for small scale pvp or 1v1. Of course this does not mean players cannot choose to run in small groups or look for duels.

If you don't stack then your whole group will end up dying if outnumbered.

Dur. Kinda how war works right? Like WWII did you know the Germans had a 10 to 1 kill ratio, but because of massive numbers they still lost. In combat, numbers are everything. Look at the number of Tigers and Panzers produced, they PALE in comparison to T31 (Hmm not too familiar with the Russian equipment) and the Sherman.
Now as for Zergs. You act as if these people are only attacking keeps (and we'll assume there is ANY COMMUNICATION between the 50 players...) are in some kind of cooperative organization (they are not) and they usually roam not only targetting keeps (last night a zerg just flowed infront of AD spawn, not conquering, just sitting there killing all those that tried to leave)
That is a zerg and that is far more common then what OP is describing (which I've only seen in a dedicated PvP guild)
We need some where for small PvP, as is I see no reason to build a well rounded character, either a healer or a glass cannon, anything else is a waste.

@AnnieBeGood you completely miss the point. People complain because ingame mechanics give larger forces (more popular allainces) a bigger advantage than just having more people. You take massively decreased damage for one and stacking makes the game unplayble due to lag. If it was just a numbers thing thats fine, but its not.
AvAvA does not = ball group game and is a horrible defense to abusing broken mechanics. It should only be easier to kill with but a few AoEs and should be a tactical blunder and not an unstoppable force of lag. A single siege or det. should put fear in the hearts of zerg balls.
IDK how stacking on top of each other would ever be considered a good strategy in a war. You could wipe the enemies army instantly.
Right now #s mean EVERYTHING and they shouldn't. They should mean alot but not everything.

One good reason why pvp needs collision detection, both for friendlies and enemies.

well maybe just in cyrodiil and future PvP content. it would be SO damn annoying in PvE and im talking about the city's at crafting area's, banks and doors
inb4 one of the solo/streamer players calls you bad and tries to base an argument off of insults, UI display, DaoC, or all of the above
