Sorry but I keep reading this and to me..... and I will prob get flamed trolled whatever but if you are fighting a war, taking down keeps etc you take a Platoon or Regiment with you. Cyrodiil is a war zone. Scouts and spies travel alone. But groups of soldiers take keeps and fight battles.
You do not take 4 lone soldiers and hope you break in. You take 24. Complete with siege, battering rams, healers and battle ready fighters.
A Platoon is not a zerg...... it is a group of soldiers working together.
Not sure if I can apply this to IC.... which always strikes me as a small pvp area.... spies and scouts.
Red, yellow or blue...... groups of soldiers in Cyro are there to fight. They are NOT zergs. They are platoons..... indeed sometimes regiments.

Elitists and streamers don't seem to get that. Im mostly a solo player but I can't expect everyone to run around alone doing nothing but looking for fights. The whole point of pvp is fight to take objectives and that can't be achieved without a group of at least 20 people.

Nobody complains about bunch of ppl attacking/deffing keeps or whatever... Hell, you can go and attack a keep with 100 ppl, but dont go then and stack upon each other like a bunch of ...., sticking from each others asses, on a 1 sqare cm of space, spaming AoE attacks/heals. Then, my friend you lag out the entire server, for everyone, and those are not regiments, just a bunch of .... who doesnt know better.

+1. Cyrodiil is not designed for small scale pvp or 1v1. Of course this does not mean players cannot choose to run in small groups or look for duels.

So when people complain about "zergs" they are actually complaining about blobs? This could be funny given that it is typically the organized groups/PvP guilds who blob and spam steel tornado type cheese. The groups I see doing that most are the so-called "elite" guilds or players who seem to like posting videos of themselves doing that as if they are super amazing. -_-

Dur. Kinda how war works right? Like WWII did you know the Germans had a 10 to 1 kill ratio, but because of massive numbers they still lost. In combat, numbers are everything. Look at the number of Tigers and Panzers produced, they PALE in comparison to T31 (Hmm not too familiar with the Russian equipment) and the Sherman.

Now as for Zergs. You act as if these people are only attacking keeps (and we'll assume there is ANY COMMUNICATION between the 50 players...) are in some kind of cooperative organization (they are not) and they usually roam not only targetting keeps (last night a zerg just flowed infront of AD spawn, not conquering, just sitting there killing all those that tried to leave)

That is a zerg and that is far more common then what OP is describing (which I've only seen in a dedicated PvP guild)

We need some where for small PvP, as is I see no reason to build a well rounded character, either a healer or a glass cannon, anything else is a waste.

This is not the only mmo suffering from sides camping around main spawn locations. Very annoying though.

So what do you want? them to spread out and attack you one at a time so you can get some kills? Cyrodiil is war. You can do whatever the hell you want and one of the most rewarding things to do is zerging.
As I said, I rarely join them as I like to roam arpund solo but I still think zerging is totally legit.

Group V group isn't zerg V zerg how ever most of the time it's normally 25+ players taking on 1 keep that has like 10 defenders. You can see how some one will say zerg when you and a few others are trying to defend against 20-25+ players.

And again wouldn't be so bad if it is group V group you know 20+ V 20+ but with how PvP is it's either that big group V empty keep or every one is just farming at Alessia. Literally doesn't matter what server some odd reason all 3 factions are always fighting at Alessia leaving the rest of the map empty for PvKeep.

The problem with this is when these so-called "platoons" take out small groups of 3,2, even 1 players. A full 24 man group taking on another full group can be exciting, but not when it is horribly imbalanced (which is the case most of the time)

@AnnieBeGood you completely miss the point. People complain because ingame mechanics give larger forces (more popular allainces) a bigger advantage than just having more people. You take massively decreased damage for one and stacking makes the game unplayble due to lag. If it was just a numbers thing thats fine, but its not.

AvAvA does not = ball group game and is a horrible defense to abusing broken mechanics. It should only be easier to kill with but a few AoEs and should be a tactical blunder and not an unstoppable force of lag. A single siege or det. should put fear in the hearts of zerg balls.

IDK how stacking on top of each other would ever be considered a good strategy in a war. You could wipe the enemies army instantly.

Right now #s mean EVERYTHING and they shouldn't. They should mean alot but not everything.

Exactly. Lack of collision detections allow 50 players to cram into a spot only big enough for 4. If someone in the zerg is being focus fired, he can run through one of his 49 buddies like thin air, avoiding the damage and healing behind the man-wall.

Collision detection would melt the servers though. It's more demanding than no AOE cap.

(not to mention the troll potential with collision detection, and we all know it would happen)

What I'd settle for is a raised cap, to maybe 10. It's not an enormous increase but 6 is way too small.

Imperial City can indeed be better suited for small-scale PvP as it stands and there is plenty of reason to believe so, but that doesn't mean people won't still treat it large-scale. Cyrodiil itself though is war and is definitely large-scale although some people do like to set aside secretive meetings for small-scale dueling.

No matter what a game incorporates though whiners exist everywhere for every reason lol

Who actually takes streamers seriously ? There just "players" (using therm lightly) trying to become internet celebs through ESO and saying "whats the right way to play" or translated "My way to play or the high way".
