Imperial Templar Tank Aid???

I need some help making it so my Imperial Templar can tank with sword and shield and the side bar doesn't matter. I have tried asking for help in guilds I have joined and even people in area chat. Instead of helping they complain that I suck and kick me from groups. I have tried looking up guides and builds and most of them are out date or require me to have everything. Anyways, can someone or somebody please help me with my build. Should I set my attribute points to health, stamina, magika, how should I set my bars, champion points, morphs etc etc.

I am literally a newb to the game even though I am a vet. 10.

    My templar PVE tanking guide:
    - Put all your points into HP
    - Use Channeling ward, Repentance and gear sets to get 2k magicka recovery and 1k stam recovery, max pool doesn't matter
    - Hist Bark or Armour Master + shuffle
    - Blaze it (well, blazing shield it)
    - Then you just need to keep mobs taunted. Empowering Sweep + Caltrops for trash, Pierce Armor for bosses.

This might not make you a good tank or let you crush trials, but it should be good enough for any of the small group dungeons. Blazing Shield in PVE means you can pretty much not block most of the stuff, and evasion lets you save stamina when you do need to block.

What would I change to make it through trials effectively?

I'd assume the class. Templar can tank, just not as well as a dragon knight. I've tried tanking with an imp. Templar and it worked but only having blazing shield to use isn't the best and makes it more gear dependant to run with the harder content.

I've tanked my imperial temp since the beginning.

I wear 3 footmans and the 5 heavy dropped undaunted gear from pledges (forget what it is called right now and everything is down for maintenance). And the sword and board is night's silence for Stam. Haven't decided on good v16 gear yet that gives me those same shields as those other sets.

Most of my points are in health, but as I reach the 501 cap for CP I will probably respec to put more in stam. Everyone likes to comment on my 37k health, but as a tank I need to stay alive =)

My tanking bar is: Piercing (for taunt), breath of life, repentance - get stam back in mobs, inner fire (undaunted taunt), and channeled focus. My ulti is Nova.

My trying to get better on DPS bar (2nd) is two handed and a bunch of skills associated with that plus radiant destruction. I'll continue to develop this for the arena.

All of my gear has stam glyphs on it.

Most important for CP is block cost reduction and stam regen for now. I'll put points into other stam stuff after that is capped. Make sure you get the passives for blocking and shields as well.

Oh and just throw down channeled focus and stand there. There are very few bosses or mobs where I can't stand in an AOE DOT and not just take it. I also don't use fancy potions, maybe because I am lazy to make them. But of course get the stam potion, but I think you can make one that makes block better too. Or at least use tripots. I use them for trials or the handful of hard bosses.

And split your cp between physical block and spell block on that other tree - again server is down so I don't have the name in front of me. That's how I can just stand there and take it. No need to be a DK to be a good tank.

Interesting build, though the armour I am rolling with is 5 Hist and 4 Lamae with reinforced trait on all of them. Is that combo any good? With my attributes I put 10 into magicka, 20 into health, and the rest into stamina. I still need to invest my champion points and put glyphs, but I may respec. I still feel squishy even with a healer.

i play one of my templars as tank from beta, and after IC i must make lots of chages due to no stamina regen when block.
    here is my build

at this moment using 5x armor master 5x footman and 2x Engine Guardian. hist bark istead armormaster is still one of best choices too. and if you dot have Engine Guardian youcan use Blood Sapw set or Scourge Harverster set for tanking, or use an 2 crafting set which help you survive. And on jewelery using block cost reduktion enchants.

Ma templar is Imperial and atributes have set to have max 30k HP with tri food, and all whar rest is putin stamina, at this moment have 29.5k HP, 28k Stamina and around 14k magika. Thx big stamina pool i have problems with stamina while tanking and its not problem taning with this setu hardes dungs.
Due to no stamina regen while block istn this much important for tank, magika regen is more important but not necessary bc you have chaneled focus which incres your armor and spell rezist and regen your mana rly fast.
Adraria Argentum Draco - imperial Stamplar
Bevdyen Tus Ntxhuav - Orc Stamplar
    Celestun Ira Dei- Imperial Tankplar
    Halldis Rautt Höfuð- Nord Tankplar
    Misawa Yoshike - Breton Healplar
    Lae'ozhael - Dunmer Magplar

What about using imperial magicka tank? Swap over a couple set pieces to something like Krags to give you more health and regen, and then you can use your own heals to sustain ontop of what the healer gives?

I could do that, but I do not think that would make me an efficient tank. I want to be the kind of tank that takes damage like a sponge as the other people dps the enemies and the healer heals. I have heard of magika based Tankplars, but I am not sure how they are built and work.
